The girl who lost her way."The swirls of darkness
pull me under for a while.
When I find the surface
I have to correct all the wrongs
I have happened to create.
Forgive me.
I was not strong enough,
but your persistence
makes me realize
what I have forgotten
and given up on.
Rescue me prince.
Show me what I can live for
don't let me go under again.
Too many times
I have lost my way.
Falling,
but your hand is there
to welcome me back
up to the surface. "

Kennel Number Ten ;; K.N. 10I've never visited the Symphony Character Agency before, and I hoped I'd find a lovely burried deep in te list. But right away, at kennel number ten, I saw my girl. She's simple, but she's gorgeous. Her design isn't too bland, but it's also not a crazy maze of markings. The amount of detail is perfect and her colors go together with absolute harmony. She's perfect in so many ways. Kennel number ten would stand out like a needle in a haystack.

Ume"YOO-mee"
Meaning Plum Blossom
Japanese
Ume doesn't care what you call her, though she hasn't ever had any nicknames, as Ume is extremely short as it is.

Fae ;; FemaleUme is a lovely female, but she honestly has no taste in being "lady-like". She's very pretty but still is a rough-and-tumble child at heart.

Border CollieUme is a full Border Collie. She isn't sure where she got her odd maroon markings, and often wishes she was a more excitable mix of canines.

ChildishUme has always deflected the whole growing up concept and kept her child-ish nature. She loves playing, having adventures, making friends and getting gifts! Usually she'll get stares because she's always jumpy and honestly acts almost 100% of the time like a new pup, when she's really almost a teenager.
DelicateThough she may seem rough, Ume has very delicate feelings and insulting her will hurt her deeply whether it shows or not. hough she doesn't want too, she takes the jokes and rude comments about her childish personality very hard and one time even tried to change herself because of how someone looked at her. Though she will never quite be able to block them from her mind, Ume tries harder to manage her delicate feelings.
DeterminedUme is a huge go-getter and she strives for anything she desires without fear. Sometimes, though, she'll misinterpret what she must do to reach her goals and that annoys her and frustrates her because though things may seen easy, they are often more difficult to grasp then she thinks they will be.
ImpatientLike a child, Ume is extremely impatient. She can't sit still for more than five minutes, at the most, before shestarts shaking and needs to jump around. This can get annoying to everyone, especially the people she's waiting with!
HappyUme is a happy girl, no mater what anyone says. She enjoys her life and would love if it was always just care-free. When she's home and can act how she wants without rude remarks, she doesn't hold back. She lets herself be happy and free to enjoy her life without the constant, annoying fear of getting labeled and whispered about my other girls around her, no matter where at school she goes.
Ultra-sweet
Mighty and Strong-willed
Extra-fun and childish forever!

When I first saw Ume, she jumped out to me right away as a happy, joyful looking design in disguise. She also reminded me of a toy I always played with when I was younger, a little gray wolf puppy I called Ume. Her personality is modeled off my beloved toy. I just adore everything about her: her design, her colors, everything! She has the makings of a great character, and I'd be willing to put in the time to buy her quality art and give her love if I got the chance!
Ume would be a treasured character and art would be ordered of her often. She would be very loved with me and the connection I made with her and my past would just make me love her stronger. I pledge that I would provide her a great quality home with me!

"There she goes again," an auburn wolf muttered, turning away with a look of disgust pooling in her blue eyes. Her two friends, a golden lab and a Siberian husky dog nodded in agreement, watching me closely with narrowed eyes. I just looked away and pretended not to notice. Recess was a time I could finally have fun after a lesson. And I defined fun as chasing butterflies, not as gabbing about who I liked or what find of flower I should wear in my fur. It was all well but just not my taste.
"Don't worry about them, Ume," my friend, Raina, murmured. "They have to pick on someone. Or their lives would be nothing." I appreciated Raina's support, but still she didn't join me. She lay stretched out in a beam of sun as the grass blew gently in the wind.
I sighed. "I try not to. But they always get to me somehow."
"Don't let them! It's what they want. Don't let them get what they want. Fight for freedom. You shouldn't have to be treated this way."
"Well, if you feel that way, why don't you stand up to them?"
"Me? Oh, well, no, I shouldn't! They would, er..."
"Exactly! I want to as well, but they scare me!"
Raina nodded. "Well, we have to find someway to shut them up or else our forest lessons will be nothing but insults and freshly washed fur flying!"
I agreed. "I have to do something." I winced at the idea but I knew that it was the only way I could get them from teasing me. But it also wasn't going to appeal to Raina.

I had hardly been able to wait for the next day. My mother had brushed my fur out and trimmed it, then bought me a white necklace with a maroon charm. She wanted to help me as well. That day, I went to school primped and a picture of perfection.
When I padded into the forest clearing, jaws dropped and eyes widened. I was quite a sight ignoring Raina, I sat down next to Amber, auburn wolf and fashion queen-of-the-forest. She sniffed at me. "What type of flowerfume are you wearing! It's totally cute!"
I smiled. "Night-blooming jasmine. My mom got it custom made."
Her two friends squealed in reaction. I smirked in their direction. Even the boys were checking me over. I was to over-whelmed to finally be popular that I didn't even realize how wrong this was going.
That afternoon duringrecess let-out, I sat with Amber and her crew. We talked about what I expected: boys. I tried my best to react and seem interested but what I really wanted was to go and skip stones with Raina, who was looking hurt and confused by her sun beam.
"Ohmidog, Ume! You'd be absolutely perfect for Brandon," Amber gushed, nudging me to look at the cute German Shepherd. He winked at me and turned back to his friends. The others squealed again. Amber's cheeks grew red with excitement.
"Did you see that, Ume! He winked at you! You should go out with him! Talk him to the Howl next week."
I really didn't want to go to the Howl next week. It was just a bunch of canines gathering next to the water under the moon to dance and gossip. I'd rather be home watching my big sister Suzu make her quilt. But I just smiledand nodded. "Sounds great."
"Amber, who are you going to go with?" Christine, her husky follower, asked.
Amber blinked. "Who else would I go with? Sage, of course," she retorted.
Rachel, the lab, sighed dreamily. "You are so lucky, Amber. Sage is soooo cute."
Booooooring!♪♫
The next view days were as pointless as the first. I went along with it. It felt wrong. But I loved being popular. I felt like I was finally wanted in school, and I finally actually had a social life. I thought it was great! But I didn't realize how much of what I was doing was wrong.
♪♫
"Want to have a sleepover tomorrow night?" Amber asked me, Christine, and Rachel. "You can each invite one person to come along too."
Christine and Rachel did their signature squeal. I bounced up and down. I had always wanted to go to one of Amber's sleepovers. "I'll be there!"
Christine nudged Rachel. "Who are you taking?"
"Isabella from Lesson B." (We were Lesson C)
"I'm going to take Lexi from Lesson A."
I thought quickly. "I'm taking Raina from Lesson B."
They all stopped.
"Who?"
"Raina?"
"Her?"
I stopped. "Yes, her. Why?"
Amber sniffed. "Well to start off, she's so bland. Look at her fur."
Rachel nodded. I rolled my eyes.
"And, she has the worst sense of fashion. That vine necklace looks like sit came from her Grandmom's closet."
"
And she's fat! Look at her stomach,"
Rain had tears in her eyes. I could tell from where I sat. "It's not fat! It's fur!" She yelled angrily. She looked at me for a moment. I moved my mouth helplessly. Raina turned and ran off into the forest, tears streaming down her face.
I felt horrible. Was I really willing to change who I was for these canines, just so they would stop teasing me? Was I filling to diss my best friend? Date someone I didn't really want? Hang out with snobs? It hit me then that I had, what my dad called, "chose the wrong path". And it was my chance to fix it and choose a different path.
"You guys are horrible!"
Amber, Christine, and Rachel all swung around, their faces plastered with confused, then angry expressions.
"Oh really! Then why did you hang out with us?"
I burst. "Because it was the only way to make you
shut up about me. I'm not some toy that you control like these two," I gestured to Christine and Rachel. "I'm a real animal, with real feelings, and a real personality. Letting myself change for you was the bigging mistake of my life. And I hope I never turn out to be like you are now, Amber. A jerk, a snob, and a prissing barbie doll. I just want to be myself."
I got up, fluffed my little fur, and threw the sparkling necklace into my bag. "Now if you'll excuse me, I have a
friend to apologize to."
♪♫
After that, I said sorry to Raina. I had only done it to get them off my back, but instead, like she said, they picked on someone else. And that just happened to be her. I was so glad I had my understanding best friend back. She was better than anything my mom could ever buy. Togetehr, we chased a squirrel back to my den and had our own sleepover. I'm glad I got my head on straight. And I hope I never take the wrong path again.
