The reason would be the older the more valuable, a common '08 is equil to an uncommon '09, so the way it was is just fine. but that all depends on what the rarity Metallic Dragon thinks it is. Read the guide to rarities :3 I'd provide a link but I don't remember where it's located exactly at, go to the wiki I guess.

I do believe I've got a better idea. First place will get first pick of the three pets, second gets second pick, and third gets the last one. That way rarities won't be an issue
