Dasher, The Groom
Nectar, The Changeling
Nectar, The True Bride
Song is from MLP: FiM (Words were edited)
The Changeling positioned the flower on one ear, admiring her fur. "This Nectar girl, she really is beautiful." She sighed, amber eyes shimmering in the pale light. She looked around the Bride's dressing room and a twisted smile with too-sharp teeth twisted her face. Her eyes flashed acid green and she gave a witch-like cackle, raising her deep brown head and looked at the ceiling, the plan going through her dark mind.
This day is going to be perfect,
The kind of day of which I've dreamed since I was small.
She looked at the silky white gown made by the Bride's good friend, the Butterfly Wolf known as Dove. She slipped into it and looked into the mirror. Her reflection looked back at her with glowing amber eyes. "This dress..." She longed for it. Her kingdom was poor and she would never be able to get anything this nice. She wiped a tear away from her eye and hissed as soft downy fur got in it. Cursing under her breath, she wiped it away and looked into the mirror again. She looked beautiful, like a queen should. But that didn't suit her enough. She wanted more. "It's too big around the hooves, too much volume near my hind legs." She snapped, pacing around the room. A gold gleam caught her eye and she slipped into a beautiful necklace and matching paw shoes made of a beautiful silk encased in glass. She continued her pacing, the glass-and-silk slippers tapping against the ground as her acid green eyes shone with bloodlust and evil.
Everyone will gather round,
See I look lovely in my gown,
What they don't know is I have fooled them all!
Nectar crashed into the cave wall, stumbling blindly in the darkness. She had been attacked by the Changeling Queen, who had trapped her in this cave below the Church. "Please, help me!" She yowled, pressing her scraped and bleeding paws on the rough rock, tears streaming from her amber eyes. Her Groom, Dasher, was in danger. The Changeling had taken over his mind and now he was helpless to her. She yowled again, alone and sad.
This day was going to be perfect,
The kind of day of which I dreamed since I was small.
The Bride crumpled into a heap on the ground, sobbing into her fur. She tensed up and lifted her head, eyes cold. "I will find you." She whispered and got up and charged, crashing into a wall she couldn't see. She fell back and didn't move. A large bump formed on her head and her body went limp. She wasn't dead, just knocked out. A soft groan, barely a whisper, sounded from deep within her throat. The wall she had crashed into crumbled and fell apart, revealing a light filled room with a hole in the ceiling. The unknowing Bride dreamed of what her wedding was supposed to be like, even thought it may not happen at all now.
But instead of having cake,
With all my friends to celebrate,
My wedding bells they may not ring for me at all!
The Queen sighed. "I wish they could've made this dress a bit more... formal." She sighed. The shoes were extravagant, too good for the likes of the dress. "I'll settle for it." She muttered. After the wedding, she'd take the dress and have her personal tailor make it more to her taste. The gold frills fell over her heels she remarked, scowling in annoyance. "You can take it off soon." She reminded herself and padded over to one of the many outfits. A particularly bad one, a pale yellow dress with a silver crown, stood before her. The thick material weighed almost as much as her, the crown was too pointy and the color was just, no. She lashed her claws at it, missing by a whisker's length. She thought about the cake. She had tried it earlier and a glob of the plastic-like icing stuck in her throat. She shivered as the memory of nearly chocking stuck in her mind like a spiderweb.
I could care less about the dress,
I won't partake in any cake.
"I'll marry him, then leave him." She promised herself. The groom was rather handsome, she'd give him that. He had the IQ of a brick though. This Nectar girl was smart, so they supported each other. A sense of longing for someone like that entered her mind and she shook it off, disgusted with herself for surrendering to such puny emotions. "I don't care for him. I am a cold and cruel Queen who doesn't need a mere cat like him." She snapped at the mirror. But even though she masked her emotions with anger, she could feel a sense of loneliness gnawing at her heart and a single tear fell from her eye.
Vows, well I'll be lying when I say,
That through any kind of weather,
I'll want us to be together,
The truth is I don't care for him at all!
No I do not love the groom,
In my heart there is no room!
But I still want him to be all mine!
Nectar opened her eyes and saw the light. She shook her pounding head and got to her paws, stumbling weakly into the cavern. Regaining control of her paws, she leaped from rock to rock, higher and higher. The light still escaped from her, seeming to draw further and further away from her grasp. It was rather far but she kept going, tears streaming down her face as she realized she might lose her one true love. Defiance ripped through her body like a torpedo and she but on a burst of strength that carried her up the rocks.
I must escape before it's too late,
find a way to save the day,
Hope, I'll be lying if I say,
I don't fear that I may lose him,
to one who wants to use him,
Not care for him and cherish him each day!
The Bride leaped into the light, feeling her pearl white claws catch the edges. She pulled herself up, into the grasses outside of the Church. She ran, her paws skimming grass and flying towards the church, her eyes set in determination. Dasher clouded her thoughts, his pale golden fur and dark mane. As Nectar stood in front of the church, she found herself crying. She wanted him, she needed him. The warm presence of him, the feeling of warmth spreading from ear to tail-tip. She needed her Groom, or she would die.
For I oh-so love the Groom,
Oh my thoughts he does come soon,
Oh Dasher,
I'll be there very soon!
The Queen strode down the aisle, Nectar's father by her side. This was perfect, everything was going according to the plan. She ignored the loneliness in her heart as she looked up at the Groom. His eyes were sparkling as he looked down at her, a smile on his ugly mug. She threw up in her mouth, but swallowed it. She smiled sweetly, shame washing over her to what she had to do to make this day right.
Finally the moment has arrived,
For me to be one lucky Bride!
The music started playing. Nectar dashed through the halls, breaking apart the doors. The Church was big, too big. She kept running, her paws aching and her muscles burning with protest. "Dasher!" She wailed. As she ran, she began to sing, her voice like the gentle melody of a song bird. Tears streamed from her eyes as door upon door met her.
"Oh the wedding I won't make,
He'll end up marrying a fake,
Dasher will be..."
Nectar trailed off as she burst into the wedding room. "Stop!" She cried, her voice ringing around the room.
Mine, all mine!
The Queen stood by her husband-to-be, a fake smile plastered on her face. The MC asked for the vows, first to Dasher, "I do." He vowed, looking at what he thought to be Nectar with love in his eyes. The MC asked the Queen. She was just about to say "I do." When a brown she-cat burst in, her fur torn and ragged and her eyes bright with rage. "Stop!" She cried.
Dasher gasped. "2 Nectars?" He breathed, looking back and forth. He suddenly realized the one beside him had acid green eyes, not Nectar's glowing amber ones. "Fake!" He yowled, turning on the Nectar beside him.
"Dasher! She's a Changeling!" Nectar yowled, flinging herself at the Queen and she slashed the diamond necklace hidden under the gold, breaking the crystal and revealing the Changeling for who she was. She ran to her husband and snuggled close to him, fear and pain in her eyes.
The Queen was revealed. Ebony black fur, razor sharp silver claws, acid green eyes and fangs as long as twigs. To her surprise, she collapsed, crying. "I'm sorry." She whimpered through her tears. "I was a fool, I was an idiot." She felt her heart snap and she stood up, her eyes full of pain and loneliness. "I was going to use you to shut off the defences of the city, to feed my minions, but now I realize that I feel love. I can be different, I don't need to be evil." She took the dress, the gold necklace, the flower and the shoes off, revealing a battle-scarred old cat. "I ruined a perfectly good wedding and now, I'll pay." She started to glow and a great pain took her over. This was known as the "Punishment of Love." It was when a Changeling tried to interfere with love and the pain from realizing that they loved the Bride/Groom and it filled them with so much pain that they...
Nectar watched as cracks opened up in the Queen, glowing with an orange light. The black cat let out a piercing scream and was gone in a puff of smoke. She was gone. Nectar stood there, at her wedding, crying. A life had been lost and she regretted it. She had died before her time. She rested her head on Dasher's shoulder, watching the puff of smoke fade into nothing. She had won her husband, but at a terrible cost.
The ghost of a black cat, with huge long fangs and gleaming claws, watched. Her acid green eyes sparkled as she thanked Nectar for teaching her this lesson. "Thank you..." She sighed and faded.
