You guys, stay on topic please?

Most of the stories I know are stupid and already on here. But most in different variations. Like Check on the Children. The version I know is totally different. Anyway these are all really interesting to read!

There was this little girl who got frightened easily, and her parents couldn't understand why their daughter would wake up screaming in the middle of the night. So the parents thought it would be a good idea to give the little girl a dog to be her lifelong companion.

Everything settled down soon after, and every night before she went to sleep, the little girl reached down to the floor and her loyal friend would always give her hand a reassuring lick of comfort.

One night, the little girl awoke in the dead of the night, in pitch black, to the sound of dripping. Drip drip drip. Chewing her lip in fear, she reached down and her hand recieved a lick. Relieved, the girl went back to sleep. Soon though, the girl awoke again to the sound of dripping. Drip drip drip. Climbing out of bed, no longer afraid but curious, she walked downstairs to the kitchen to check the taps. Nothing was dripping. She went back upstairs to bed, and once again reached down to feel the comforting lick. An hour later, the girl woke up a third time to the sound of dripping. Drip drip drip. Annoyed and a little bit frightened, the little girl walked all over the dark house, intent on finding the source of the dripping sound. She couldn't find any taps that were leaking, the washing machine and the dishwasher was dry too. She even checked the outside hosepipe, but couldn't find the source of the noise. She sighed to herself, thinking she was just imagining it all, and went back upstairs to be. Once again, the feel of the lick against her hand soothed her nerves and she was just about to jump back into bed until she stopped. And to her horror, she heard it. Drip drip drip. The sound was coming from inside her own room.

Turning on her room lights quickly, she saw the savaged and bloody carcass of her dog hanging from the rafters with its intenstines grabbed around it's neck like a noose, it's stomach a gaping hole where it's innards would've been. And there, on the wall behind her, written in oozing red liquid, were the words:

Dogs aren't the only things that can lick.

Two dormmates in college were in the same science class. The teacher had just reminded them about the midterm the next day when one dormmate - let's call her Juli - got asked to this big bash by the hottest guy in school. The other dormmate, Meg, had pretty much no interest in going and, being a diligent student, she took notes on what the midterm was about. After the entire period of flirting with her date, Juli was totally unprepared for her test, while Meg was completely prepared for a major study date with her books.

At the end of the day, Juli spent hours getting ready for the party while Meg started studying. Juli tried to get Meg to go, but she was insistent that she would study and pass the test. The girls were rather close and Juli didn't like leaving Meg alone to be bored while she was out having a blast. Juli finally gave up, using the excuse that she would cram in homeroom the next day.

Juli went to the party and had the time of her life with her date. She headed back to the dorm around 2 a.m. and decided not to wake Meg. She went to bed nervous about the midterm and decided she would wake up early to ask Meg for help.

She woke up and went to wake Meg. Meg was lying on her stomach, apparently sound asleep. Juli rolled Meg over to reveal Meg's terrified face. Juli, concerned, turned on the desk lamp. Meg's study stuff was still open and had blood all over it. Meg had been slaughtered. Juli, in horror, fell to the floor and looked up to see, written on the wall in Meg's blood: "Aren't you glad you didn't turn on the lights!"

There once was a teenage girl by the name of Devin.
She wasn't the prettiest, or the most popular, but she appeared average.. and normal.
She was smart, and she loved music.
In seventh grade, she was bullied by a boy named Jimmy.
He was cruel to her, and constantly harassed her.
She was weak, and couldn't dispel his words.
They dug themselves into her mind, and she found herself believing every word he said.
He told her she should kill herself, and that everything she did was wrong.
He did it to feel powerful, and to be funny.
But the girl took it seriously.
She told a principal, and expected her nightmare to be over.
But the principal did little, if nothing, to help her.
She spoke with the school counselor frequently,
but she was still in his classes.
Soon, Jimmy found out that she had told on him.
He continued his assault, and soon, his threats became serious.
He would come after her.
He would hurt her.
She would feel pain.
Devin became overwhelmed with these threats.
She couldn't take it.
But she hadn't the strength to take her own life.
She was cowardly.
This time, she didn't tell the principal.
She knew that the principal would do nothing,
only provoke Jimmy.
So she let him continue to pummel her with words.
The next year, she found herself separated from him.
He walked near her in the hallways.
Sometimes.
Her anxiety and hyper-vigilance made her aware at all times.
She would not let him get close to her.
She learned that he would be moving across the country at the end of the school year.
She was relieved, and she could hardly suppress her happiness.
She had grown since the previous year.
The week before school let out, her school had a dance for the eighth graders.
He had not spoken to her for months, and when talking to her counselor, that was her biggest fear.
On that day, when she was supposed to be happy, he cornered her in a hallway, and with a malicious smile, hand raised...
spoke.
He apologized... in a way that meant nothing.
He laughed, in a way that made the girl dizzy. She could hardly summon words to get him to go away, but she did.
She ran for her friends, and collapsed to the ground.
On the last day of school, she realized she'd never have to see him again.
But then, something sparked in her mind.
What if his move was all a big lie?
What if he was waiting to strike?
She asked her therapist, and she dismissed the idea, saying it was just anxiety.
That night, Devin was sitting on her bed, and she thought she heard his voice.
This happened often for her, because she often had panic attacks where she would be driven to insanity.
She thought nothing of it.
His voice rang in her mind.
"I promised to come after you."
She shuddered, willing the episode to cease.
She tried to sleep, praying that the voice would quiet.
"I told you that you weren't good enough."
The girl whimpered, wondering where her mother was.
She shrieked when she was a shadow in the window.
"I thought I told you to kill yourself... if shall I do it for you?"
With that, it became all too clear that it was not her head coming up with these words. She saw a gun pointed at her forehead, and she cried tremendously.
Even with a bullet through her head, the tears poured down her cheeks.
Cheeks that were cold and colorless.

**Disclaimer: I just wrote this myself. Most of it is true, but the second half is not. The whole dance part is exaggerated. Urm... if you have questions, PM me. :3
