Congradulations HD, and welcome back tayio, I think we all missed you!
Taiyo wrote:The stage that had been abandoned for a month, collecting dust as visitors come by often only to leave with a disappointed expression on their faces. The once popular tourist spot is now eerily empty without a single soul in sight except that little timid Faerre. The soft colored Faerre with the face of an angel seem to shake on the spot despite facing an empty hall that soon will be filled. No bugles sounded today, Tenme hoped it would be a quiet departure, she was never fond of communicating with large groups and drawing attention to herself. Two grey eyes glanced beyond the altar to the lands afar, she hopes she'll find someone who'll understand her quiet nature. Perhaps bring her to somewhere where she can escape from critical eyes. The small faerre shivered slightly as she caught a glimpse of a shadow of a visitor by the door. Taking a deep breath she faced her challenge.
Tenme will be judged in 5 days, June 10th, HK Time
*Tenme is a very timid Faerre, any actions that'll scare her off will result in the increase in chances of her running away without choosing a partner, tread carefully*
Character for woo: Borak, an aging wolf
Borak lifted his face to the wind as it ruffled his dark coat of mottled brown fur. His large build had softened over the years, but his movements still held that powerful grace; the combination giving him a gentle, assuring presence. He had been traveling alone for quite some time, meeting the occasional wanderer along the way. The temporary companions were comforting, but he wished for something more permanent, to share with someone the beautiful places he visited with through more than just word of mouth. Words could only do so much after all. Fortunately, one of the travelers he had met had told him of Vinara, where Faerres were looking for companions to show them the outside world. Maybe there he would find his long awaited for companion. His gray-green eyes gazed along the path he had been following. Well, there was still quite a ways to go. Shaking himself a little to make sure the pouch he carried still hung around his neck, Borak continued on to Vinara in a gentle lope.
On reaching the altar, Borak was slightly surprised to see there were few creatures around. From what he heard from the traveler, these "wooings" clamored with creatures of all kinds eager to convince the presenting Faerre to join them. Though it mattered not. Borak preferred the quiet, it being better for taking in his surroundings. The carvings on the altar were exquisite, the finest he had ever seen. They flowed along with the grain of the wood while telling stories with nothing more than images. Just by glancing at them he could tell whether the tales were sorrowful, joyous or just something of ordinary life. Dust covered parts of the altar, interrupted by the footprints of others who had come before him and some lettering he couldn't quite make out from this distance. It must have had been a while since the last Faerre went out into the world, explaining why there was less commotion than he had expected. After examining the altar a bit longer, his eyes finally rested on the Faerre standing on the stage.
She was a beautiful pale gray with white makings on her face, torso, and hind legs. Like distant mountains capped by snow, Borak thought. He also noticed that she was trembling a bit despite the lack of audience. He smiled softly. What a timid little creature and yet so brave! Borak wondered what drew her to leave the security her homeland. Did she seek beauty, adventure, knowledge...or a little companionship like he did? My gift will suit her well, whether she decides to travel with me or not. He only hoped his size wouldn't frighten her too much.
Borak made his way up to the stage, the wood steps creaking slightly under his weight. Reaching the top, he took a few paces closer to the Faerre, sat down, and curled his tail around his legs. Some of the dust that had been stirred by Borak's movements settled on his fur.
"Greetings little one," he began, "I am Borak. I have traveled to faraway places and seen many beautiful sights. Serene forests, majestic mountains, the wide expanse of the sea. Ahh, such grandeur, but alas, I have no one to experience it with. It is not enough for me to explain the sights to fellow travelers. I want to see the awe in their faces as they revel In the magnificence of the scenery before them. Your quiet nature will allow you to appreciate the scenery even more. You can't fully focus on something if you are distracted by talk, yes? You need not have to express your opinions to me in words if you do not wish to do so. I will be able to understand you well enough through your expressions. "
Borak lowered his head and slipped the pouch off his neck. With his silvery muzzle, he pushed it towards the Faerre.
"Occasionally, I come across interesting trinkets during my travels. Here in this pouch is a moonstone. I have heard that it brings protection to travelers and those of a sensitive nature. It is the perfect charm for you, little one. I ask that you take it with you, whomever you decide to travel with. I am sure that it will glow with a gentle radiance in your hands."
With a relived sigh, Borak got up and made his way to the edge of the stage. Long moments of stillness had been getting to his joints in the past few years. Then, remembering something, he stopped and turned his head to the Faerre.
"By the way, you may need to loop the pouch's cord around your neck a few times so it doesn't drag along the ground. It was made for someone of my size after all. Farewell, and good luck to you."
At that Borak continued down the steps and left his footprints in the the dust along with the others. May she find peace in her journey.
