"Why would you ever help me?" he asked quietly, glancing over at Kara with a sad look in his eyes.

[byyrde]

"Because, you've not done anything to hurt me. You helped me, in a weird way, get away from SHIELD when they brought me back, you helped get me out of the beast, in a way, I'm indebted to you. So I'll help you get out of this." She said with a gentle sincerity, leaning against Loki's shoulder.

Cap woke, but acted still asleep. He knew what Kara was doing, and how she worked so well. She was gentle with those that needed it, sharp with those that deserved it, and overall a kind and fair person. He knew he loved her for that, and didn't mind how she treated Loki. He probably deserved it after the building and stuff. Whispering very quietly, too much so for either to hear, "You're finally seeing what it's like to speak eye to eye with a woman, Loki. Hope you brighten up a bit."

Loki winced in pain as Kara leaned against his shoulder. Everything seemed to hurt. Even his emotions, well, especially those. He gave a ragged sigh and tried to push Kara off his wounded shoulder, groaning in pain when he tried to move it.

[byyrde]

"Hold still and I'll get off." Kara smirked, pushing away. She reached into her bag, pulling out a small bottle. "If you want to stop feeling pain, I can give you this, but only if you really want it. It kinda numbs everything, so you go into a dull sort of state for an hour or so. Up to you." She shrugged.

"Everything, you say? Do you mean everything?" he asked quietly, drawing patterns in the dirt, symbols that meant something.

[byyrde]

It's like taking drugs. Completely dulls you, all over, even your emotion." She said certainly.

"I'll have to take you up on that offer, then." he said in a whispery tone, hanging his head.

[byyrde]

Kara nodded, pouring just a few drops of the bottle down Loki's throat. "It tastes disgusting, and it feels very strange." She said calmly, watching as his body reacted to the feeling of the medicine.

"I don't care." he stated, enjoying the strange sensation, probably more than he should.

[byyrde]

Kara smiled again, then yawned and leaned back against her own tree. "Got my boys, and some peace. What a wonderful prospect." She drifted to sleep quietly.
