Goennec Pen #: Pen #1
Name: Ali
How would you use her: I am, essentially, a writer. I've already written a book, and working on a trilogy about a character that got from TaN. I want Ali and Tiger so that I can write about them; I'm sure I'd be able to at least write two books about them, mabey more. My books vary in length, but most are around 400-500 pages. Ali and Tiger would get a lot of attention not only in this sense, but I would also get art of them and give them their own thread here on CS.

Define your Goennec: Ali is very protective of Tiger, and is willing to go to great lengths to defend him. Because she doesn’t belong to a herd, Ali is independent can fend for herself. She is always alert for danger, and is brave and courageous. Ali has an athletic build and enjoys running, which she does whenever she’s not with Tiger. She tries her best to be patient with him, but sometimes she wishes that she was alone and didn’t have to watch out for her small companion. Unlike many females of her kind, Ali is willing to fight when necessary sine Tiger isn’t able to run like her. She has an overall friendly and good natured personality, and shares a deep bond with Tiger. She often contemplates what the future holds for her, and wonders over whether or not she’ll see Tiger in a different light when he gets older; for even thought he’s younger than her; Ali’s aware that she has slight romantic feelings for him. Ali loves him very much, but not in the way a mother would love her child, or the way two mates would love each other. She loves him more in the way that a guardian loves the one that they protect, or the way two friends love each other. However, feelings are known for changing over time.

Name: Tiger Eye; but Ali often just calls him Tiger.
How would you use him: My reason for him is basically the same as with Ali. I wish to write a small series of books about them, and get art of them and give them their own thread. However it was Tiger that initially inspired me to do this. You see, my best friend is actually blind; so I felt a connection to Tiger from the moment I saw him. My own experiences with my blind friend would really help me to write these books, for I understand how those that are blind get along without their vision. In addition to this, Tiger's condition is absolutely facinating, and would be very interesting to write about. I want these two very badly, I have much in store for them

Define your Goennec: Tiger, like all members of his species with Hannescon's Disease, is blind. To make up for this he has a very acute sense of smell, and equally acute hearing. He’s also very intelligent for his age, and enjoys annoying Ali with his witty comments. Since Tiger is unable to feel anger, his emotions that would be shown in this way are instead channeled into feelings like sadness and disappointment. Ali ties her best to comfort him when he’s in these emotional states, but not even she can always help. Tiger has a very strong sense of wrong and right, and is usually most annoyed by injustice. Tiger knows that he looks “different” even though he can’t see, and appreciates that Ali doesn’t make a big deal of his strange features. Though he isn’t able to move fast, Tiger has a large amount of stamina; and makes up for inability to travel fast by being willing to travel for long distances. Tiger questions almost everything, and often lingers on things unsolved. He’s very determined and has a strong will, which compensates for his deficiencies in other areas. Tiger wholly trusts Ali, and counts on her for everything. He cares about her very much, even though he doesn’t always show it; and has a small “crush” on her, in the way that a child might have a crush on a teenager.





.::Combined Information::.

Ali and Tiger live together alone unlike most Goennecs who live in herds. The place that they call home is a desert with small shrubbery like the one shown in the picture below.




Ali was born into a very small herd of only six Goennecs. Though there were few of them, they shared a very close bond with each other. When Ali was just over a year old a pack of wild-dogs attacked the herd, and the five Goennecs besides Ali were brutally slaughtered. She only managed to escape by outrunning the dogs. After that Ali desperately searched for more of her species to live with, and ended up giving up after four months of wandering the desert. She began to adapt to her isolation, and soon became independent. She encountered Tiger Eye much later, when she was around the age of four…


The hot wind ruffled Ali’s fur as she padded across the desert floor. She smiled when she scented rain, for the water pools she visited had been drying up lately. The wind began to pick up, and soon sand was flying everywhere. Ali winced some sand got in her eyes, and she started to pick up speed, running flat out. Running was her favorite thing. It made her feel as if she was flying across the sand, as though she were a bird. By the time she reached her den thunder had began to roll, and she narrowly missed getting her fur wet, which was something she hated. She lay down on the floor, thankful that she had all paws instead of a mixture of paws and hooves. Ali rested her head on her front paws as she watched the rain fall, and slowly dozed off.

It was almost dawn when Ali suddenly woke up. She stood, her ears pricked for danger, and slowly padded outside the entrance to her den, where rain was still falling. She frowned when it hit her fur, and scanned the area, looking for whatever had woken her up. Her blue eyes widened when she saw a strange creature standing not very far away from her.
He looked like a Goennec, but somewhat different. He had no tail, and his ears were very tattered, as was his mane. Ali crept closer and saw that he had a large tounge that hung slightly out of his mouth, and long teeth that protruded past his lips.

Ali stopped a few tail lengths from the creature, and cocked her head, trying to inspect him better. He was still stumbling slowly towards her, yet didn't look at her. What's wrong with him? She figured that he wasn't a threat, he was about half of her size, yet didn't look that young. She stopped right in front of him, and he still didn't look at her. Was he blind?
"Hello?" Ali said gently to the little Goennec. He looked exhausted, and instead of responding just stumbled towards her. Ali knew right then and there that she couldn't just leave him there. She tried to walk him back to her den, and realized that he couldn't travel very fast. It wasn't untill she was laying beside him on the floor of her den when it hit her. He had Hannescon's Disease! Goennecs like him were often dumped from the herd, left to die. I'll take care of you, my llittle friend. Forever.

Ali later learned that the little Goennec's name was Tiger Eye; named after his markings. She took to just calling him Tiger, which he didn't mind at all. Tiger had never been loved or understood, and Ali made it her duty to protect him. He got food for him and provided him with shelter, and in turn he became her close companion. Their desert paradise served them well for a few months, but the wild-dogs then returned. Knowing that Tiger wouldn't stand a chance against them, Ali decided that they had to leave. It was hard for them to travel because of Tiger's disease, but he made up for his slowness with his stamina. They traveled for a long time trying to find a home, and their journey was made difficult by many things, but they faced these challenges together.

I didn't have time to completely finish this, but I'm sure that you can see what the plot of the books would be; Ali and Tiger trying to survive and find a home while being hunted. I can promise that they would both have a very special place among my characters. I wish to be an author when I grow up; and mabey someday a book about two little Goennecs by the names of Ali and Tiger Eye will appear on bookshelves. That is my dream, and I really hope that it will come true for me.
