Story/History: A dark shadow slowly fell over the moon. Just down below a small hut, overlooking a waterfall, was visible throught the trees. The door was slightly open, a small shape ran from the shadow and into the hut! "Sam, Sam, Wake up!" A small black kitten was prodding at a sleeping wolf. "SAM!"The kitten yelled one more time, giving up he curled up next to her until morning.
MorningI slowly detached myself from Hardy, he was a cute kitten but really, he has to show up in the middle of the night? I walked over to the mirror, as I looked at my refection I sighed. Blue fur, lighter blue outline of my eyes, and that strange halfmoon on my forehead. How I got it I will never know. "Sam?" I sighed, I jumped off of the counter and walked to get breakfast ready.
After breakfast I had work to do, the forest that Sam and I are living in needs some work. As the sun rose overhead I stopped from pulling a tree branch aay from the path, "Sam, do you hear that?" I asked. No answer, as I looked around I saw him curled in the shade, sleping. I chucked softly to myself and directed my attention back to the tree branch. Then I heared it again, a low droning sound coming from overhead. I swung around to look at the sky. As I watched a helicopter peeked out from behind a cloud. Not again I thought my heart racing, humans had come to this forest once before. They dug up roots, killed plants, and took animals. I searched the sky again but the heicopter was gone. I told myself that it was nothing, just sightseers. That was my first mistake.
Number TwoI groaned, all my muscles were stiff. I looked around for a nice sunbeam to lay in, just what my aching muscles needed, a nap. As a started of to my favorite placde a tiny back body ran into me, "Sam, slow down," then I saw that he was shaking,"What's wrong?" But Sam just shook his head and continued to shake, I knew only one thing that could induce this much fear in him, humans. "Don't worry little guy," I said as I stroked him,"Go back to the hut, I'll be there in a minute."
Mistake number two.
I slowly moved through the undergrowth I saw what Sam had. Humans were marking the ground with bright sticks, they kept yelling and pounding the sticks. I moved to get a better look, suddnly one of them spotted me.
Mistake number three.
I darted back into the forest but it was to late. I saw a guy pick up a gun and point it into the place were I was hiding. A BANG, then silence. I felt a small dart in my sholder. Woozy I made to run but sleep was overtaking me, I rested my head on my paws and fell asleep.
2 Days laterI awoke ot find myself in a forest, not my forest. I slowly stood up, as I looked around i found my self in a shaded glade. I heared a twig snap behind me. I turned swiftly around and saw a huge wolf, she had a pale gray coat, on her back was strange swirling symbols. Her tale had netting on it with just a hint of purple. She hid her face with a purple mask. "What are you here for?" She asked. Her vocie reminded me of something, but I shook the thought away. How could I know her if I had nerver seen her before? "I,uh, well" "Spit it out girl," she commanded me. I took a breath and told how the humans were puting up stakes and shot me. "Well," she said, "They were checking your forestto see the bounderies." She must have seen my puzzled look for she explained further, "They are slowly protecting any last wolves, they want to see us live." "So I can go back?" I asked hardley daring ot belive my self. The gray wolf looked sasd for a heartbeat, "No, they brought you here so you can live a controlled life. They can track you revery move from a braclet that you have." I glanced down only now relizing the braclet that was beeping softley on my wrist. The gray wolf cintinued, "Look to your left, do you see that shiny stuff blocking the trees. It's called glass, we can't go past it unless they let us out." I stared at her for a moment then ran over to this
glass. I touched my paw to it, It was soiled. No way to get through. I thought of Sam, waiting a the cottage for me. I couldn't leave him. I would get out I had to. But right now I wasso tired. With a yawn I layed down with my back pressed on the glass. My last consions thought was they gray wolf, looking over me but something in her eyes was different, colder even........(HA, cliffhanger)
