The poll refused to work over here, so it's now set up in my art shop thread instead:
viewtopic.php?f=21&t=18473&p=444477#p444477
The names and pictures of all the eligible pups are over there, so don't worry that you'll have to memorize the name of the one you want. They look pretty cute all together in a bunch, too! ^^ All the pup versions will remain available, regardless of whether they get adult versions or not. By the way, please don't try to order any art while you're over there - the shop is closed and probably not reopening any time soon, so please don't ask. >.< You can pick three choices in the poll, and whichever pups get the most votes will become adults. The exact number that will grow up is undecided so far; it will probably be two or three, but we'll see how the voting goes. :3

I was apparently the first to vote. c: My three were winning. XD

EDIT: Okay, this is going to seem like a random question - but how do you draw blue merle? I was wondering about it. X3

Have you ever thought of doing other dogs? Just wondering. Oh! I voted on the poll.

I might make a few other breeds, but none of them will be done to the extent that the BCs are, especially since most breeds don't have anywhere near the wide variation of the BCs. I might put a poll up for which breeds people are interested in - I did one a long time ago in a different post, but that post is long since deleted. If I do make others, it'll probably be just three or four dogs per breed at most and of the most typical coat colours.

I actually asked the same question XD

For the blue merles (and other colours, too), I start by outlining and filling their markings with the diluted colour, so they start off looking like a blue or lilac like Lark:

Then I add in the darker patches over top of that with a partially transparent brush so it blends together, and finally go over some of the patches with the lighter colour again to add the marbled look. It's probably most obvious on Zeph, since he doesn't have as much marbling as the others - if you look on the left side of the large brown patch on his side you can see a spot where the lighter colour was added over the dark but the outline of the original patch is still visible. :3

Zeph was drawn differently from the other merles, as his dark patches were actually outlined rather than added randomly, so his patches don't really blend into the background colour like Danny's.

Thank you! I'd just been wondering, since it seemed like it might be hard to draw. (I forgot about magic of computers. Oh Rocky. XD)
