Russetpaw
At Slystar's signal, Russetpaw wiggled a little bit, eyes filled with mirth. She yawned and stretched before finally addressing the two. To the question, Russetpaw eagerly nodded his head, tail waving in the air. "I was thinking, that we should bring Sunheart..." Russetpaw tilted his head at the name. Of course, he knew who Sunheart was, and he had talked to the warrior quite a few times. He was very kind, and didn't seem to mind Russetpaw's tales so much as the others. Still, the russet cat was slightly nervous to have the leader, the actual clan leader, and two warriors with him, the only apprentice! Surely he was nervous, but Russetpaw took it like a brave hero. He puffed out his chest slightly, more so to prove he was worthy to himself, and continuously told himself he would be like them one day.
Waiting for Shadowfur to greet Slystar, albeit a little impatiently, Russetpaw turned his body and took a few steps toward the camp entrance. "Of course I'm ready, Shadowfur!" A little disbelief leaked through his voice, warriors were always ready! Russetpaw flicked his gaze between the two warriors and the entrance as they spoke. "After we come back, shouldn't you appoint a new deputy?" Few things distracted Russetpaw from a mission, as he liked to call them. However, this question was certainly one of those things. He snapped his head toward the two, just barely enough to see Slystar nod her head.
The new deputy! Of course, how could he forget after Mudstar passed only last sunhigh. Russetpaw's face turned determined, and his claws unsheathed to shred the weak grass stems from the ground. Part of him was saddened, anyone would be for the clan leader. However, a little part of him was angry. He wasn't there when the header had lost his last life, all because of another clan cat! Russetpaw vowed to be the best warrior to make the first leader he had ever known proud. He would show all the cats how strong he could be, how much he could help others, and other cats would surely look up to him for it.
((I just made up Mudstar since no one actually played the leader. I figured his name fit Swampclan. c;))

Sunheart
"Oops. Sorry, did I scare something away?"
Sunheart flicked his tail absentmindedly, brushing off the loss. "That's quite alright, Sweetpaw." He reassured her in a kind voice, lightly purring as emphasis. "There will be other prey." As it was, Sunheart diligently listened with patience as he heard his apprentice perk up about a fox. The orange tabby tilted his head at the claim of it: a fox? His eyes slightly narrowed as he thought how uncommon it would be to see a fox in a swamp. Snakes? Of course. Toads and frogs? They were plentiful. Occasionally they even saw an alligator far off into the waters of the nearby river that twisted through their territory. A fox worried him a bit though, they were usually in Oakclan. Yes, they did wander over here sometimes, but not all that often.
Sunheart blinked down at his apprentice as he brought his tail to rest on her shoulder. He chuckled at her enthusiasm, nonetheless. "Perhaps it may be, they are quite uncommon in Swampclan territory. Though, I am curious, where did you smell this scent? You know, you should be cautious about going places without a warrior. While you are an apprentice now, you are still young, and a fox could make easy prey of you." Sunheart did not want to frighten his apprentice, little Sweetpaw who he hated to upset more than anyone it seemed. Nonetheless, he felt that he was very important that she know not to run off by herself. He would hate to be burdened should she be harmed because of his carelessness to teach her to be wary.
He aimed to teach her, not to frightened her. So as to make sure she heard his words, but wasn't too nervous about them just to be sure, he added, "Why don't you lead the way to where you found this scent and we can examine it further, together." Flicking his tail off her shoulder, Sunheart pulled himself to his paws, patiently waiting for a response and at the same time, hoping he didn't crush her excitement.
((Ahha, thank you. ^^ Don't worry about your posts dragging, in fact, there's lots of ways you can improve it. c: Aside from making sure to check for grammar, spelling, etc. mistakes, it may help to explain what your character is experiencing in their senses. For example, what do they see, hear, or smell? How do they feel at the moment, or what do they think about something another character said?))
