Favorite type of RP: I'm okay with pretty much any type as long as it's not violent or romance-focused. I usually find myself in RPs involving animals or based off books.
Sample of writing: All was dark, shrouded in gloom. Then, over the horizon, emerged a golden sliver of light that grew. Birds that had been huddled up against the cold stretched their wings, letting the light warm them and relax the tense, tight muscles. They took flight, sillouhettes outlined by the gold shimmer that rained down from the sky. The earth, cold and black, loosened as the sun embraced the soil, the shriveled leaves turning green, petals of red and white emerging as the sun kissed each inch of growth, coaxing the petals to reach for the warmth of spring. The trees, frail skeletons, come back to life, strong and colorful, leaves dancing in the rays of the spring sun and creating dazzling spots of light which leap to and fro against the ground, painting the cold soil with green and red and blue, flowers and grass. The stream, an icy silver ribbon twisting along the ground breaks and moves, swaying back and forth, her silver dress rippling. Spring is a miracle.

Meh, I really don't like this example, so here's a second one.

The Last Tree (takes place in the future)

I see a decrepit form hunched over, growing in the shadows, huddling in a corner. Many walk by it each day, rushing to and fro, hurriedly walking by, checking their watches. But I stop and look. It is something that no longer exists, a fragment of the past, ignored by all but I. It is a tree. The strong, ancient beings are no more, replaced by cement and stone, fading into the distance. Nobody remembers them as beings of beauty, strength. People now praise the buildings of our own work, our own advancements. What is ignored is the last of what is sculpted by God's own hands - the Last Tree.

Favorite type of RP: Fantasy is my fave, but I like all kinds
Sample of writing:
I looked down over the heights of the Keigian Cliffs. I had almost died there, almost fell to my death just seconds ago. I was panting from the long run I had been forced to endure, my body felt like it was burning from the inside out. I knew I was safe thought, they'd never catch me here; or so I'd thought. I heard the distorted shriek that could sieze the heart of anyone and force them to shake out of fear. I was trapped on that cliff, unable to run. I wasn't safe, it was just the opposite; I was trapped. Oh no... I thought as I whirled around, my ebony black hair brushing the side of my face due to my movements. I decided it would be better to face my enemy then to jump to my death, no matter how bad it would be.

I knew I didn't have a chance either way. My milky skin tone turned to a pale white, like I had seen a ghost. With a trambling, hand, I drew my katana, a japanese sword, from its sheath. Even seeing the light reflecting off the long blade, I knew my katana wouldn't do much, but it was something. Then, finally, my persuer made its appearance, bursting through the forest trees; the Riftblades were here.

This beast was distorted and malformed as its cries. The creature was about double the size of a horse, a dark red colour that resembled the colour of dried blood. Its pudgey body was held up by four muscular legs with six claws the size of a grown man on its paws. The Riftblade's three spiked tails lashed angrily at the ground, ripping out the grass and flowers from the ground. The face was the worst to see, it's red, glowing eyes, shone out from the inside the eye shockets. It was a human looking one except for a short, bony snout with saber teeth sticking out from its dark red lips.

Shaking with anger, its thoughts entered my mind, "Give me the Sword of Hikari!" I at once tried to answer, trynig to manage my fear. Quickly as I could I shouted, halfway to supress my fear,

"Never!"

The Riftblade screeched in rage before racing towards me in blind rage. I knew I was no match for this beast, people say that you can only kill one by using a weapon of light, but somehow I had missed something; it wouldn't let me draw it. With quick thinking, I had a strategy.

I'm not going to die today! I told myself before running forward. The riftblade snatched at me, only for its legs to collaspe due to its large body. For good measure, I slashed its belly and jabbed its right leg. I was unable to pull it out before the beast fell over the edge, its true cause if death was its rage. I looked at the ripped up ground beside me, an inch from me being stabbed through and dying with it. With a sigh of relief, I took the Sword of Light out of my backpack and held it. Unlike me, its whiote sheath was not touched by blood, that is until my hands got a hold of it. Looked back once at what could've been my death, and started the long walk that would lead back to my village.

Any semi-lit/lit RPs you have: None yet

Once again, I am advertising for someone else. We need two more males for this RP. Please join! I actually want one of the RPs I join to start, for once. I despise waiting.

Join, please.

Anyone else discouraged by how long it takes semi-lit RPs to start. I find that the wait ultimately kills them, so all die before they even begin. It's so frustrating.

Okay. I can't find a good post... Mmm I'll just go with this:

It's true. She would be getting you into the coolest groups you could ever be in. She's a lover and a hater I guess you could say. Now some would think she was a tom-boy or something close to it but really, they are wrong. Idriessa will wear bright purple and greens and stuff and she will wear pink but she tries to stay away from pink clothing or almost anything pink. She's just not into that stuff and she wasn't willing to be in that stuff either. Idriessa fights pain. When she gets hurt she cries about 1-5 minutes before toughing up and continuing her things she was doing. She is never the one to get in a fight with. She has been told by guys she is tough and as everything men say, she takes it as a compliment. She just thinks every single time a boy says something in her mind is sweet she gives him a beautiful full teeth smile and starts to get in a conversation. Weird? Ha, got that right obviously because everything and I mean almost everything personality and physical she has some kind of funnies to herself. It's a lot to.

Idriessa is creative. With everything she does. The reason why is she hates things that are the same because she thinks they just don't look right. She wears white with everything. White, white and more white. Every outfit everyday. Well scratch that actually she tries but it doesn't work out sometimes. Idriessa believes she is scared of nothing. Ha, she's wrong. She's scared of a couple of things. Spiders and Alligators. Okay the alligators thing is kind of weird in this kids opinion but she's pretty scared of those things. But you're probably wondering she is scared of alligators and spiders but, what about clowns? Idriessa pretends those things never exist. Not that she is scared or she is all over them it's just she doesn't care much for them and doesn't find them funny like they do themselves. She loves to sing. Just loves it. She's really good to. She has a stunning voice for a girl like her. She's awesome at singing.

Idriessa can't cook nor can she bake. Okay scratch that. She can bake cookies but they have to be made first. All the things she cooks she wishes luck and hopes it makes it to her mouth before burning up in the pan or crock pot or whatever it's in. Idriessa is claustrophobic and can't stand tight or crammed spaces. She starts to freak how. She needs freedom from tight and crammed spaces! It's her weakness I guess you could say. Idriessa is a straight A student and she is very careful about her speech and doesn't mess up words like library. Some people say libary and others say the exact real word library. She doesn't figure out people mess that up. But if you get know Idriessa you can figure out quickly that she lives in her own little world in her mind and when you think she's listening to you she's probably riding some unicorn across a rainbow. Who knows?

Idriessa hates fake people and people who try to scam her. She is not as stupid as she looks. Haha I know that sounds wrong but really, if you looked at her some people find her a stupid dork who is a big old nerd. She likes to have fun. Idriessa is not as prissy as some people find her either. Yes she can be but she's not a big fun of it. She also has a big old mean side that no one wants to see. She get's fired up quickly and has a short-temperament and she has very few anger issues but she still has them. She can't stand when people are all over her and leaning all over her. Now, this does have something to do with her claustrophobia disorder. Also she has insomnia which means she has trouble sleeping. She can go to sleep about 8:30 and not actually falling into a sleep in till 10:00. It kind of upset's Idriessa because she wants to get a good rest for school every night but it's almost impossible in less she goes to bed as early as 5:00 in the evening and no one wants to do that. Well at least Idriessa doesn't want or feel like she wants to go to bed that early. Also it really doesn't help when she loves parties and she doesn't get to bed in till 10:00 and then it takes her forever to actually get to sleep. Why does life have to be so hard? Anyways this girl is very interesting and she loves to learn about people and find out more things she never knew about her self. Like disorders and stuff like that. Idriessa is very unique and she doesn't like it when people try to turn her into something she is not. Ever feel the same by any chance? Idriessa is very weird. No offense to her. Her drawings are very good and the books she reads are very good to but everything she does it has something unique to it that Idriessa has added.

      Is this okay?

It is breath-taking written and beautifully imagined! The characters are intriguing, and we only need a few more to start. You can smell the incoming insanity and with are all standing on the edge, waiting for our cue to jump on in. Come on and join us! It is going to be so much fun!

Join

And if you don't join, I will cry.

It's a very unusual RP, with some really interesting premises. You can just feel it revving up for something fast-paced with a wide-scope and world-changing consequences. It's not a schoolroom drama role-play, or something simplistic and shallow. This is deep stuff it's centered around, with plenty of possibilities for a gripping story.

I'm with MBRShorse will this. It's going to be great! ^.^

Thank you guys for your support! We only need one more girl and three more guys to start, so if you're interested please check it out! I'm pretty lenient on forms as long as I can see you're Semi-lit+ in your posts.

Favorite type of RP:
My favorite type varies. I like to rp in regular human rps, but I love to participate in some humanoid rps from time to time. Only rarely or invites do I do animal rps.
Sample of writing:

{ ѕ н a y } { d ι ѕ т r ι c т } { т w o }

"Of all the things I've believed in
I just want to get it over with
Tears form behind my eyes
But I do not cry
Counting the days that pass me by

I've been searching deep down in my soul
Words that I'm hearing are starting to get old
It feels like I'm starting all over again
The last three years were just pretend
And I said

Goodbye to you
Goodbye to everything I thought I knew
You were the one I loved
The one thing that I tried to hold on to

I still get lost in your eyes
And it seems that I can't live a day without you
Closing my eyes and you chase my facts away
To a place where I am blinded by the light
But it's not right"

Tears. There is no switch to turn them off. They come with no warning, and sometimes in the most unexpected times and places. That was exactly what happened to Shay when her name was pulled at the reaping. Of course, everybody knows that district one and two are always the most likely to win in the Hunger Games. But that didn't stop the flow of tears that didn't stop until she and the boy tribute from her district were ushered onto the train and forced to stay silent.
Shay sat up in the navy colored cushion seat with her nose pushed up against the ice cold window. As she took each breath, it fogged up against the glass. She was sitting with her knees hugging her chest and her arms wrapped around them. Her worst fear was closed spaces, but right at this moment, her worst fear was death. Which was a ten out of ten chance that it's unpleasant visit was coming. But, how knows? This year may be lucky. Lucky enough that she could get away with her life on the edge.
Shay silently turned her head and studied the people who were settled around her. Her mentor, an odd man named Winsern Rai, was sitting in one of the benches similar to the one Shay was nestled in. He had his hands in his lap, his right leg crossed over his left leg, and was positioned to study the goings outside the window. His eyes were staring, barely blinking. Shay squinted, a bit creeped by the man. But she moved on. Next was the other tribute, of course, a boy. She quested he was doing the same as she, because she couldn't quite see him. He was behind her. She huffed and looked to her left. Across the aisle was an old woman. She had white hair, with a bluish tint. The way old people's hair turns when they get...well....old. The woman's veins were clearly visible and she had tiny spectacles perched on her small nose. Shay thought her eyes were closed, and she was sleeping, because her head was down and her mouth was hanging open the slightest bit. Her legs were crossed the same way as Winsern and her entangled hands were laying in top of her tan leather purse, which was zipped up tightly.
Shay stared at her for a second more then she turned back around.
She watched as the plants and trees and streams and people whizzed by as the train zoomed through. The people walking waved and shouted and screamed blessings at the zooming train. Shay felt her heart break when she saw a small child in the arms of an old woman. It reminded her of home. The train sped past the people and faster and closer to the Capitol. She could just spot the white tips of the tall buildings that were so close yet so far away from her District. The District of Masonry. Each year, each Districts designer makes them wear ridiculous outfits that represent their district. Thinking about last years outfits make Shay almost burst out laughing. But suddenly, instead of laughs, more tears pooled in the corners of her gray-blue eyes. They spilled down her cheeks and she finally had to look away from the window. These thoughts just made her think about home. Laughing about the outfits with her older brother and mother and father.
She pushed herself up and was met with a striking pain. And glanced down at her own outfit. A tight fitting black t-shirt with tight tan khaki pants with many different straps and buckles and pockets. She had on black combat boots which were a bit beaten up from training so long in them. Her hair was tied tightly into a high ponytail that swung back and forth each time she took a step. Her neck and knees were sore from being in that position for so long. She turned her head sharply to the side and was pleasured in hearing a sharp crack.
She looked up and was about to walk towards the buffet table when she saw the old lady staring at her, eyes widened. She was probably surprised at Shays cracking her neck. Shay smiled weakly.
"Sorry" she muttered through her fake smile.
There were only about a few other people in the cart besides her. The other tribute, from her district, their mentor, and Winsern Rai, a very awkward man. Shay had decided to keep her distance from him. She looked across the aisle at the tables full of food, drinks, deserts, full coarse meals and other things. Shay licked her lips, now fully accepting the pain of hunger. She strode across the cart, whisking past the other tribute, and right to the table. She breathed in the different aromas.
There was roasted chicken, mashed potatoes, soups, oh, all the soups, and beans, and curry, and rice, and many more. She smiled and plopped down in a velvety soft chair. She reached for a plate, but then hesitated. The gleaming porcelain shined in front of her, willing her to stuff herself. But, she still hesitated. She looked up at her mentor. She widened her eyes, silently asking, half pleading if she could eat. When her mentor finally noticed her and gave a small nod, she grinned and grabbed the plate.

Shay piled the plate high with all different varieties of food. Once she finished, she set the metal food tongs down and grabbed a fork and knife. She cut right into the chicken and dipped it into the mashed potatoes and gravy, then stuffed  it into her watering mouth. The instant the gravy hit her tongue, when she took that first crunch of chicken was like heaven. She ha Denver tasted anything so good. She took more and more bites, enjoying every last bit of it. But, for her sake, she slowed. Don't want to be sick with a stomach ache in the first day of training.
So , she took slower and slower bites of chicken. Chewing as many times as many teeth she had. As her mother always told her, "How many teeth do you have?"
"Twenty-five" Shay would reply.
"Then chew twenty-five times" her mother would smile. Shays eyes teared up again. Her mothers kind face, suddenly rigged with horror when Shays name was called. Then, her eye rolled to the back of her head, so you only saw the whites of her eyes, and passed out. Shay screamed and fought and kicked and punched, well, that's what she wished she did. All she did was turn back, and search frantically for her mother, only for the crowd to break and find her lying in the ground, unconscious.
Suddenly, she stood up so fast, she knocked her goblet full of ice cold water over. She held up her drumstick and whipped it across the room. Tears flooded her cheeks and went down like a waterfall. She screamed, let out a bloodcurdling scream, and watched the chicken fly across the room. It soared right over Winserns head an day the door. She could hear a faint crack, made by the force of which she threw it, and then she fell to her knees. She let out heaving sobs, covering her face with her grimy hands and crying her heart out.
Like she said, there's no stop to tears. They come and go. No switch.

Re: Semi-Literate+ and Roleplayer's Club

Postby Noel » Mon May 07, 2012 1:16 pm

I figured this would be the best place to look for good RPs, since all I ever find on the 'Advertise your group roleplay here!' thread is either a subject I'm not interested in or non-lit. -_-"

So, does anyone have a fantasy semi-literate+ or literate RP? I'm looking for something out of the norm. Assassins, chaos, dragons, steampunk, just not ordinary. Romance-based is fine assuming it's not ordinary humans and is tolerant of same-sex relationships.

I'm only able to RP boys, so I can fill up those ever empty male-slots. xD
