Favorite type of RP: I'm okay with pretty much any type as long as it's not violent or romance-focused. I usually find myself in RPs involving animals or based off books.
Sample of writing: All was dark, shrouded in gloom. Then, over the horizon, emerged a golden sliver of light that grew. Birds that had been huddled up against the cold stretched their wings, letting the light warm them and relax the tense, tight muscles. They took flight, sillouhettes outlined by the gold shimmer that rained down from the sky. The earth, cold and black, loosened as the sun embraced the soil, the shriveled leaves turning green, petals of red and white emerging as the sun kissed each inch of growth, coaxing the petals to reach for the warmth of spring. The trees, frail skeletons, come back to life, strong and colorful, leaves dancing in the rays of the spring sun and creating dazzling spots of light which leap to and fro against the ground, painting the cold soil with green and red and blue, flowers and grass. The stream, an icy silver ribbon twisting along the ground breaks and moves, swaying back and forth, her silver dress rippling. Spring is a miracle.
Meh, I really don't like this example, so here's a second one.
The Last Tree (takes place in the future)
I see a decrepit form hunched over, growing in the shadows, huddling in a corner. Many walk by it each day, rushing to and fro, hurriedly walking by, checking their watches. But I stop and look. It is something that no longer exists, a fragment of the past, ignored by all but I. It is a tree. The strong, ancient beings are no more, replaced by cement and stone, fading into the distance. Nobody remembers them as beings of beauty, strength. People now praise the buildings of our own work, our own advancements. What is ignored is the last of what is sculpted by God's own hands - the Last Tree.
