V O R T E X

As Chiinak made his rounds, the vortex seemed to settle down. The light flickered and dimmed, the swirling slowed to a lazy spin, and the opening shrank to a modest size. Unnoticed by all, a hazy mist began to detach itself from the vortex, as if it was shedding parts of itself into its surroundings. The vortex grew and the spinning hastened once more, but it remained silent and comparatively slow compared to its other flare-ups. A smoky-tipped paw quietly emerged from the center. It lowered itself and was followed by a vividly-colored head, eyes closed, nostrils flaring with the new Ahzenai's first breath. Slowly, quietly, the rest of the Ahzenai surfaced until the dark gray tail tip finally cleared the light. The haze from the vortex then coalesced at the creature's back, and dark masses of matter materialized. She blinked open her eyes for the first time and surveyed the crowd.
By this time, she had Valcyon's attention, though a good part of the crowd had not seen her due to her silent entrance. He nodded in acknowledgement as she made her way towards him, perching herself on the rock beside him. He faced out towards the crowd and opened his mouth to declare her name, but the new Ahzenai placed a paw on his lips. Valcyon turned his head towards her in confusion. She closed her eyes and shook her head gently. Still nameless, she climbed down the rock to meet the humans.
This one was mute. It wasn't that she had a physical problem, she simply chose not to speak. No one has ever, or will ever hear her voice. She much preferred the quiet, actually. Expression, she found, was much more interesting and beautiful when nonverbal. She sniffed the air curiously and smiled. Perhaps she would become a dancer. That could potentially be fun. She continued to weave her way through the crowd, wincing at the clashing of the chatter on her ears. Ugh. The Ahzenai quickly changed tack and half-ran to a relatively deserted spot under a tree. She lay herself down and waited for her suitors, hoping to whatever god there was that there was someone who knew the art of silent speech.
Please include the word "anise" somewhere in your post for tracking purposes.
Design, story and judging by Perditio Noctis (Trying out a new name. ^^;)
Notes: This one is mute. 8D I think she should be interesting. The good thing is, you get to name her. To maximize your chances of winning, get creative! Body language! Sign language can count too, but come on, the entire woo in sign language is a little cheap. =U
Judging will take place on Sunday, April 29th, and a warning will be given depending on my schedule. I'll be judging based on how creatively you react to the Ahzenai, how well I think you match her personality, and the name you give her. You may woo this Ahzenai whether you already own her or not.
Vortex post format stolen from 3B because it's so pretty and organized. eue; And because I'm too lazy to do my own formatting. Also, when Onyx re-uploads the image to the Ahzenai photobucket, this image link will be replaced.
