VioletRose watched the fair curiously. Her ribbon patterned tail flicked back and forth amoung the dirt. She shifted her purple paws from side to side restlessly and her eyes were wide breifly then seemed bored. At times she would stop fidgeting but then would start again. She listened to the Narie's speech in silence while she heard otheres murmering about the faerre. She flattened her ears against her head to stop the hideous rumors.
How dare they?! Don't they relieze what they're doing is wrong? You wouldn't like someone talking about you..would you? She thought to herself with a tiny frown. She pricked her ears, but only slightly to listen to the last parts of the faerre's speech. She listened to the ending his words echoing through her head
I'm Right...I'm right..Shthe two words echoing through her head. She didn't relieze lost in thought other's had started already lining up to try and 'woo' the faerre.
--------
She studied the faerre on stage scanning her curious gaze over his fur. It was a soft pastel blue, almost mint and had a willow tree like pattern swirled into it. Her mouth curled into a tiny smile as she closed her eyes. SHe imagined herself in a orchad full of white blooming willow trees just at the peak of Spring. She could just catch the scent on the breeze of the delicate smell of the tiny blossems. She opened her eyes after someone shoved past her with a grunt.
"Sorry!" she apologized surprised, she glanced up at the sky and saw it setting. She didn't relieze she was daydreaming for so long. She glanced at the line and saw it still stretched wide. Her jaws parted into a yawn and she shrugged. She'd talk to the faerre tomorrow...after the line had shortened.
She woke up and stretched shaking out her black and violet fur. She looked back to the altar and saw Naire still there. She started to pad to the line when she stopped her stomach growled hungerly. She grinned she couldn't give a good speech without breakfast could she? She skipped down to the bakery and bought a bag of bicuits. She trotted to the line once again and sat down munching on a cookie. How delicous these are! she continued to eat and stepped forward when the line moved forward. When she reached the Altar she still had about half the bag left. She nudged a few cookies with her paw to Naire,
"You may be famished, being here so long! Try one of these, they are scrumptious!" she said happily, nudging a few more cookies in his direction. She cocked her ead thoughtfully, she hadn't really thought of a speech, she said she'd do it later..well later was here now. She drifted in and out of real life and her thoughts. As she collected together a speech others had grown impatient behind her.
"Oh dear, silly me. I always leave things to the last day...or hour...minute...sometimes seconds..!" she gave a nervous giggle.
"Anywho, my name Naire is Violetrose." she said with a smile as she shook out some cookie crumbs from her fur.
"I suppose I could promise you things, am I correct? Is thos how things are around here? You promise something then you MUST give it? I think things should just flow..you set a time to do something. You say you'll do it later, and all of a sudden later comes! Or perhaps you and a friend scheduled something. Maybe lets say..oh you're about ten minutes late. A good friend would simply say. OH! Its alright, I understand you must have been busy! Don't worry you're my best friend i'll always forgive you." she said thoughtfully.
"I don't like it thoughm if you're just the tiniest bit late they'll say. 'Geez! I've been waiting here
forever! Why were you late? Can't you at least be on time once and awhile?' It makes me feel bad see? I like those who can forgive and forget. Are you one of them?" she asked leaning forward. She leaned back onto her haunches again.
"Guess I shouldn't judge so quickly." she scolded herself. She saw some of the audiance members roll their eyes and she cocked her heads at them. They ducked their heads and mumbled a chorus of sorry's to both Violetrose and Naire, as if some were actually listening to her. Violetrose then turned brightly back to Naire,
"Anyway, I hear you want to show everyone you're right. About how its alright to be late once and awhile. That you'd understand no matter what. That you're a busy faerre and others should respect that. I understand, you see I must admit this im a procrastinator." she said the last part sheepishly.
"I'm still trying to fix it, but I think it's a part of my personality you know? Wait, Im not saying that being a bit late to some advents is your personality...I still need to find that part out. Im just saying I dont want people to judge me to quickly on that one little thing." She gave a tiny nod and lifted her chin a bit.
"Another thing you stated is you wish to leave. I travel alot, but at times may take longer then needed. I need to check over my things, make sure I ahve everything! I dont ever want to forget anything, then what would I do? I can't take a plane back just to get a..a what? A book or something? Then theres thinking of where to go next and it takes time...you know?" she cocked her head to one side.
"I plan on perhaps going to Alberta, Canada. Visit some old friends I haven't seen in awhile, I'm sure they'd love to meet you. Perhaps even invite us to a few up coming advents with them." Violetrose smiled thoughtfully. She nibbled on a cookie while thinking of more to add to her speech. She drifted off from te real world back to the willow tree orchad. The thought bubble burst and she grinned brightly at Naire,
"Actually, along the way I know of a wonderful Willow tree orchad! We...that is if you join me could and should visit! It's beautiful and not too far away from Canada's direction either! RIght now is the perfect time to go...after I prepare of course!" she said matter-of-factly.
"Well...that's all I can think of on the spot. Guess I should have planned the speech yesterday." she huffed with another sheepish grin,
"Oh well, I think I did well anyway. What do you think?" She asked with a silly laugh,
She glanced up at the sky and saw it was just passing over a bit.
"I promised my friend Funshine and Twilight that'd i'd meet them at lunch...maybe tomorrow instead! I'm realy quite fond of these cookies!" she said with a grin as she nibbled on another one.
"Oh dear...and I was supposed to finish my book yesterday.." she said as she padded off the altar.
"I also promised Cyril i'd meet him soon..." she murmered her voice fading.
"Keep the cookies! I'll simply buy more!" VioletRose called over her shoulder as she returned to thinking out what to do next. She settled under the shade of a tree after she'd bought more cookies and was flipping through the last few pages of a book with a white blosssem bookmark. She didn't notice as it flitted into the breeze as she intently nibbled on a cookie and read the words on the pages she said she would read yesterday.
