Pup I Want: Pup #2
Why I want this Pup: I love the colour scheme on it, it blends really well. Also, I love the unique ears that come from the dad.
What I'll do with the Pup: Probably use her as a character and in one of my more fantasy-based stories (because of her appearance)
Name of Pup: Akiru
Gender of Pup: Female
Personality: Akiru is playful and very friendly. She loves all and sees the good in everyone, even when they can't see it themselves. Inside of her is the spirit of a kitten, fascinated by everything around her. But when her family or someone she loves is threatened or hurt, that kitten will transform into a lion. She is very reasonable, however, and will only fight if there is no avoiding it. She is also very mature for her age, already knowing how to hunt and fish, and no longer indulging in the silly games her siblings play.
Story: It started when I was born. My parents paw picked the special garments we all were to wear throughout our lives. Mine were a silver collar, a silver bracelet (which I put on my back leg), and a small, silver earring stud which now resides in my right ear. My parents liked the colour silver for me. They said it... what was the word? Oh, yeah: "suited" me. Whatever that meant.
Anyway, a few weeks later, my siblings and I were minding our own business, playing in a rose bush near a human's house, when a badger ran through the bushes behind us. You could tell because of its lumbering run. All of us wondered what had it so scared. My parents' eyes widened as we heard a sound that seemed far-off at first, but was quickly coming closer. We didn't have time to do anything except stand, paralyzed with fear, as a great, black, furry creature burst through the trees. I realized it was a bear. "Run, children!" My parents screamed at us as the bear turned its head towards them. It charged at the sound, and we had no choice. We ran.
We were scattered all over, but I was able to find one of my siblings. "Ruru!" I called out when I saw her black-and-white bear hat bobbing above the undergrowth. "Akiru! Where are the others?" She asked. "I have no idea. I was lucky enough to find you. I don't think we'll find the others." She nodded in agreement.
We pursued the act of finding food. Seeing as we were presumingly orphans, we could go anywhere we liked now. We managed to catch a small rat and shared it. It was getting late in the day, and we were tired. We found a small, abandoned fox's den and crawled in. As I fell asleep, I whispered, "And so begins our life on our own." Ruru didn't hear me. She was already snoring.
I poked my muzzle out at dawn and could see the dew scattered on the leaves. It was a beautiful morning, but I didn't pay attention. I had been woken by the scent of meat. I followed it to a small bush and looked in. There it was, a piece of meat, in midair! I didn't register that it was strange, just headed straight for it. I stepped inside and reached for the meat. Then I heard a snap. I jumped and turned around. I realized as I looked around that I had stepped into a cleverly concealed metal trap. It lifted out of the bush and I yelped. Ruru, still asleep, would be awakened by the sound of humans rushing by, but she'd be too late to do anything. I writhed, turned, snapped, and clawed in the trap as the men tried to grab me.one reached in, swung its hand around, and hit my head on the side of the cage.
Everything
went
black.
I woke up for a short time in a completely white room full of people and other animals. I could see what they were doing, but before I could react, they put a mask on me and drugged me with some kind of chemical that knocked me out.
I don't know where I woke up next, just that I was back in the forest. I didn't know what happened to my parents, my other siblings, Ruru. None of them. I didn't even know whose territory I was in. It sure didn't look like our own, but I was hoping it was just a part we hadn't explored yet.
As it turned out, the territory was vacant, so I became its occupant. I don't know why it was, there's plenty of game here. Not that I eat much of it. I'm still trying to find Ruru, if no one else.Art of Pup: (Optional)
Other: OMG these are the cutest adoptables I've seen!
