Fact: "Forrest Mars came up with the idea for M & Ms during the Spanish Civil War. He discovered that soldiers were looking for a taste of home, in the form of chocolate, but needed something that could withstand hot temperatures. Mars took their request as a challenge and eventually came up with the candy, which he packaged in heavy tubes. Soldiers today still love M & Ms because they can hold up in just about any climate."

Fact:  Cacao Beans were so valued in ancient Mexico that the Maya, and later Toltec and Aztec civilizations used them as a unit of calculation and currency to purchase small household items and pay for other services. A large tomato was worth one bean, a rabbit was ten beans, and a slave was a hundred beans.

Fact: In 1898 (14 years prior to the Titanic tragedy), Morgan Robertson wrote a novel called Futility. This fictitious novel was about the largest ship ever built hitting an iceberg in the Atlantic ocean on a cold April night. The fictional ship (named Titan) and the real ship Titanic were similar in design and their circumstances were remarkably alike. Both ships were labeled "unsinkable".

Fact: Many people do not know where the candy cane comes from. Well, if you hold it normally, it is the shape of a shepards staff, showing that God is the shepard and we are the sheep. If you turn it upside down, it makes the "J" shape, whih stands for Jesus. It is white to resemble the purity of Jesus when we accept him as our Lord, and the red resembles his blood which was shed to save us from our sins.

Fact ~ Most cocoa is produced by child slaves. Some cocoa farms have made sure that they are slave free, but the cocoa beans get mixed in with the one's harvested by child slaves. [Just did a school thing about it]
