Lips Study

Postby geinkotsu » Tue Apr 10, 2012 9:53 am

Another thing I've been meaning to practice and need more practice for. So here are 25 different lip sort of expressions (I know a few look the same) for my attempt to get some proper grimaces and lip biting and smiles and stuff. I was going to draw more, but I was running out of room- I might edit in a few more- I see a few spaces I can squeeze in some more lips.

You can use this for refference and stuff, I don't mind, I know I'm not the only one with troubles with lips. Hopefully this helps~

:Edit: Added lips 26 - 30 they are scattered a little in the pic- I was too lazy to renumber everything.

@BlueEyedKite - Well, men generall have thin lips, girls have more plump lips. About all of these can be man or woman really, especially since all I draw is men xD

@june-♓ - Haha, thanks. I love collections of studies, both drawing them and looking at them. You should do something like this~ I'd love to see it. As for me, I think I am going to do an eye study next. I need to expand my style a little.

Lips are tricky, for me it's just using them in expressions that I can't draw them. As for drawing them on guys, usually thining them up makes them look a little less girly, and not make them as pink (maybe just choose a little bit darker tone from the original skin tone, that's what I usually do).
