Return to Ahzen

Sola padded back into the land of Ahzen, his eyes trained onto the ground. Searching for anything that would catch his attention. Those sharp white eyes easily picking out what was valuable and interesting and what he could add to his collection. Sola paused as he spotted a gemstone half buried into the dirt. He lifted up a green colored paw before carefully digging it out. Plopped his rump down, once the gem had been unearthed and used the tip of his tail to dust it off. It was a wonder how his fur stayed so white. Despite all the dust and dirt that he normally collected onto himself.

With a grin, he bent down to get a closer look of the gem, pleased to see that it is a vibrant garnet. With a flick of his tail, he snatched the gem up into his jaws, twisted his head around and nosed the flap up on his bag. Carefully dropped the gem inside the bed and gave a little nod when he heard it greet the other stones, gems and the line inside. He always wore the side backpack turned bag. In case he found something that he wanted to collect. With a pleased sound, Sola stood up on all fours and continued along. Soon he found himself in front of Valcyon. Though he only noticed after running into the rock head first.

It must of amused the wiser Ahz, for Sola heard a light chuckle. The odd male glanced up and offered a sheepish sort of grin. "Welcome back to Ahzen, Sola. Are you searching for a companion this time around?" Spoke the older Ahz, so those that gathered could hear. The question confused Sola for a moment, but then he answered back. "Thank you for welcoming me back, Valcyon. I am looking for a partner. Someone that has a very big interest in the earth. Someone that likes to study the rocks, gemstones and everything that happens to the ground. Someone that doesn't mind getting dirty with doing so." He gave a nod of respectful greeting to Valcyon, once he was done stating what he was looking for. With that said, his eyes dropped to the rock that the other Ahz sat upon. Intent on inspecting it and waiting to see who would try to woo and win him over.
Short summary of personality: Sola is an odd one. He likes to study the earth and everything that it holds. He is more happy doing this, then interacting with other Ahz. Most can find him surrounded by stones, gems and the like. Sola can be found to have more dust on him then a shelf that hadn't been cleaned in years.

As Riley made his way to Valcyon, he couldn't help but notice that the green Ahz's eyes were glued to to ground as he trotted along. Riley grinned when he saw the garnet. The bright red gems, his birthstone, were one of his favorites - they looked like sparkling ruby-red eyes. He approached Sola casually, hands in this pockets.
"Hello there, Sola," he began, "It's very nice to meet you! I was wondering... You're interested in geology, aren't you? The earth we stand on," Riley continued with a smile, motioning to the ground beneath them, "can tell us so much, if we take the time to observe it. Earthquakes, volcanoes, shifting continents... It's all the ground moving around us. Slowly, yes, but still moving - almost alive. Personally, I'm interested in fossils - the bones of old, forgotten things, like the ruins of an ancient world, left for us to find." Riley stared wistfully at his feet, contemplating all of the memories held beneath them.

"Anyway," he said, looking back up at the green Ahz, "I'm very interested to see what you've collected. Perhaps you could show me some time, and I could let you take a look at the fossils I've come across. I do travel quite a lot, so I have all kinds of opportunities to find new, old, beautiful treasures," he took a step back, and smiled. "Well, I've got places to go, a world to explore. If you're ever looking for a travel companion, I do hope you consider me. It was great to meet you, Sola!" Riley adjusted his hat and turned to leave.

Why you want Sola: I adore that he's interested in studying the earth, because I find it fascinating myself. I also quite like the colors of his fur - it's a shade of green that I wouldn't think to use, yet it works really well with the lighter off-white. And the gradient on his horns is lovely. x3

Short Woo of Sola: I glanced up from carving my wooden spear to look at Sola. His interest in the Earth caught my attention, but what caught my attention most was how he liked the stones and gems. I fiddled with my necklace, which was just a thin leather string with a single, large emerald at the end. I set my unfinished spear beside the tree I had been leaning on and stood up. Still fiddling with my necklace, as I usually did when I was nervous, I slowly approached the intriguing Ahzenai. I stopped about two feet away from Sola, and stood there nervously for a moment, wondering what to do or say.
"Hello, Sola," I finally said. "I hear you're interested in the Earth." I hoped I didn't sound as stupid as I felt. "I noticed that you just added a rock to your collection." I blushed and tripped over my words, getting the feeling that I did sound as stupid as I felt. "I guess what I'm trying to say is, well, I have this interesting rock I found yesterday, and I don't really know what to do with it," I continued, feeling sort of embarassed, as I reached into my pocket and pulled out a medium-sized, shiny, naturally polished black and white stone. "So, if you want, you can have it for your collection." I set the stone beside Sola and backed away to finish carving my spear.
Why you want Sola: I like that he likes stones and gems. I myself love gems, especially emeralds, and also stones like granite, or stones that seem to glitter.

Dani knew as soon as she saw this Ahz that they had something in common, the earth. Without hessitation, she strode to Sola.
"I see you like gems... You know, gems are old forms of light and cosmic energy. The light comes from all over the galaxy and settles in specific parts of our earth, people say that the lights contained spirits and when the gems formed, they got trapped within the crystals." She reached within her backpack and pulled out a rather large, velvet sack that jingled lightly in her hand. "These are my crystals." she gently lay them in the dirt and pointed to the tiger's eye- a gold and brown banded stone that shone like gold, "Creativity." Then pointed to the black tourmaline, "Protection from season related ilnesses.", She continued explaining types of stones and the properties they hold, "Citrine- Wealth." She pointed to a transparrent yellow stone.

"I dug these out of the caves myself." She allowed Sola to look at the stones one last time before gatherng them and putting them back in the sack, "You can have these, I'm heading back to the caves in Africa to find more anyways..." She winked at Sola, stood up and left, leaving the sack behind.
"That is, if you're up for the challenge." She said with her back to Sola and continued walking.

V O R T E X

The vortex spun erratically this time, after being dormant for a long time following the last Ahz's entrance. Swirling greys speckled with iridescence glowed almost as if through filthy water, before the new Ahz was spat out, as if he were mere refuse. Head over tail he rolled, before coming to a stop just before Valcyon's perch. Valcyon, for his part, almost didn't notice him, and only reluctantly muttered out a name for the slightly grimy Ahz.

"Er - Chiinak."

As the glow from the vortex subsided, Chiinak's glossy - almost greasy - fur became apparent. He stood, his big lost eyes staring around at everyone, and sniffed the air. At once, he located a scent so intoxicating - food! - he allowed himself to follow the smell until he reached the source, a discarded serving of french fries. Greedily, he munched on the waste, his eyes still on the suitors. Could any of them take his... rather unique disposition?

Notes: Chiinak is based off of a rock dove - your average, everyday city pigeon. He's a bit of a street urchin, as you may have guessed, but he's got a sweet heart and wouldn't do much pickpocketing or thieving; he prefers to use the discarded trash of others.

Judging will take place on Tuesday, April 17, and I will give a two to four-hour heads up beforehand, depending on my schedule. Keep in mind that I judge somewhat harshly based on how you manage to work with the Ahz's personality - if I don't feel that you really read and thought about your woo and how the Ahz might react based on what I've written, you will receive a significantly lower score, no matter how well-written or long it is.
