Background: This story will be told from a first person point of view~
Micha was born in the middle of a dark, starless night. He was the only one out of the litter and there was a slab of mica by the burrow where his parents lived. He was named Micha as a symbol of his home and family. Micha doesn't remember much of his life as a cub, but he remembered looking up at the timeless moon as a cub. When Micha was just old enough to be on his own he roamed the endless land alone, without a tribe, without a family. He had met other smili, but never stayed with one, until he saw Arra. Arra was beautiful in his eyes. Her coat was gold and dark brown with streaks of red in it. Her markings were like lines off a painting by a skilled artist, smooth and almst hypnotyzing. Her eyes were the colour of a burning hearth, and she was a graceful as a swan. He pawed over and met her, as it turns out, she liked him as much as he liked her. They had spent a few days together when the leader of Arra came back from a week long hunt. He was bigger, and looked stronger than Micha, but when he offered to deul him, Micha said yes. Micha hated looking cowardly, especially in front of Arra, his new found love. He was the first to make a move, he lunged at the leader, but the leader, whose name was Scar, dodged him quickly. Micha landed with hard impact, it hurt but he wouldn't back down. Scar jumped, but Micha colided into him in midair. The fight continued until Scar had Micha pinned to the ground, his glistening claws at his throat ready for the kill.
That's when Arra came in. She leaped through the air at Scar, but he swatted her away, slashing her shoulder and slamming her into a tree trunk. She wimpered as she it the tree. Micha leaped up and went to look at Arra, her ribs were broken on one side and the slash on her shoulder was to the bone. He knew that her time was almost out so he sat by her until she died. Looking down at the lifeless body that once beheld Arra's soul, anger seared every other emotion in his body. He felt angry at himself for not being able to fend for his life, angry at Arra for geeting involved and not just letting Micha die, but mostly angry at Scar for Arra's death. Scar, who thought Micha would surrender, was apprehensively licking his bloody paw. Micha tried to sneak up on him from behind, claws and teeth ready for the kill. He lunged in the air and dug his claws and teeth into Scar's throat. Scar made a very surprised sound, then shuddered and died, torrents of blood coming out of his mouth. Micha went back to Arra's body and wept. He wept for days without eating or drinking until he realized that he would die too if he did not move on. So micha continued his travels with a broken heart. Micha cried most of the time he walked, he never stopped to meet other smili anymore, he never found joy in the things he used to. He continued until one day he collasped from the depression.
He fainted right in the middle of no where. He woke up to the sight of a beautiful, gray smili. Her fur was the color of the moon and her eyes were bright purple. She wasn't close to being a beautiful as Arra, but she was still beautiful. She noticed Micha was awake and regarded him silently. Then she helped him get up and introduced herself. Her name was Shan and she traveled alone like Micha. She had found him and decided to take care of him until he was somewhat better. She also liked Micha, and they agreed to become mates. After some time, Micha and Shan had two smilis of their own. The first had gray fur that seemed to glow with eyes like Micha's, her name was Hollow. The second had fur as black as the night, he was born with eyes like Shan's, his name was Miold. They were gorgeous and were quick learners. As they got older, it was apparent that Hollow was smarter, but Miold was bigger and a fiercer fighter. Hollow would alway use a sneak attack on her prey, but Miold would use a pouncing technique. Micha and Shan would always train them at least once a day on how to catch pry and how to fight. They both became strong and intelligent smilis. As cubs, they always did things together until one very unfortunate day. Micha and Shan were watching them trying to catch a jackalope. Miold was bounding carelessly after the rabbit while Hollow was watching her step and strategically planning how to catch the rabbit. Miold was running when he fell into a ditch. The ditch was about four feet higher than Miold could jump, and the sides were far to steep to climb. He stated yelling for help, Micha, Shan, and Hollow searches and searched, but when they finally found the ditch, Miold was dead.
He had launched himself as far as he could go, dug his claws into the soil, but the soil came lose and he fell backwards on his spine, breaking it and killing Miold. Micha could not take it anymore and turned away. He had lost Arra and now his own son. He decided to travel alone again. Shan tried to get him to stay, but the pain was unbearable. That night he left for another long journey. He traveled without any sleep at all, he figured he should just walk until he dies from lack of water, or fight another smilis and let it kill him. Micha decided that he no longer had a purpose to live, the fire that once burned inside him was out. He decided to finally sleep, but before he did, he prayed for Arra back, she prayed that she could live again, that they would be a family, that her wounds were long since healed, that they would be mates, and that he could see one last time. Then he fell asleep next to a slab of mica. He dreamed of playing with Arra that night, until he was awakened by a shimmering light. He saw a strange, white, glowing light coming down from the sky, and in the light stood a figure. A figure with gold fur that has a bit of red in it, a figure with eyes like a burning hearth, a figure with markings that looked like they were off a painting by a skillful artist, smooth and almost hypnotyzing. Not just a figure, but the figure of Arra, Micha's long lost love.
She shimmered, her wounds were gone though. She said that she had been granted the gift of life to see Micha again since she had died for a worthy cause. She said that she had seen what happened to Miold and she told him that he was in a better place now. She also told him that his parents had both died about three years ago from a rare disease. The light above Arra disappered, but she was still there. Arra and Micha have lived together as mate for years now, but they never had any cubs, instead they roamed the land, just the two of them. Side by side, but they still ran into problems from time to time. Although Micha and Arra had been granted the gift of immortality, they could still get illnesses and diseases. Micha got sick once, and he couldn't hunt for a week, he could just lie down and be cared for by Arra. Along with the gift of immortality came one rule, they could not split up and mate with other smilis. So the time when Micha and Arra came across Shan it was very awkquerd for everyone, and Micha learned that hollow had died in a fight with another smili, since Arra wasn't a full angel she didn't see what happened, and the news made Micha collasp. Another time they had to fight a smilis, but since they were immortal and the other smilis wanted to fight to the death, they ended up having to kill it. Arra also told Micha of some very interesting information, it turns out that Scar used to be her mate and he thought she was a different smili when he killed her. Scar hadn't become an angel, he was forced to watch himself kill Arra over and over again, he hated the sight of it, it broke his heart, but he deserved it.
Arra said that he deserved it because he had harmed her without thinking several times. She showed Micha that there was part of her tail missing by the tip of it, and she showed him a nick in her ear from Scar. Along with those, she also had a long scar along her shoulder from Scar, which was her most newly acquired scar. One day when they were traveling, Micha and Arra found a smili cub calling for it's mom. The cub was beautiful, she had red fur with a tint of gold in it and eyes that gleamed like emeralds. Her markings were smoky and hazy though. She said that her mom had ben fighting a smili, but she fell asleep when the other smili cut the back of her throat. Micha and Arra both knew that the cub's mother was dead, but when they told the cub, she didn't cry, she just looked sad and broken. They asked where her dad was and se said he had died a long time ago before she was born. They asked what her name was and she said Sorrow. After deabting for an hour, they decided to take her in. Arra had to convince Micha since he didn't want another cub. Both of his had died and he did not want Sorrow to die too. Micha had seen the dead bodies of two of his family members, Arra and Miold, even though Arra was back, Hollow and his parents had died. He also felt that Arra's, Miold's, and Hollow's deaths had all been his fault, but in the end he agreed to take Sorrow in.
It took Sorrow three days to recover from finding out about her mother's death. She didn't cry, but she would sleep or go within three feet of Arra and Micha. When she finally started walking next to Arra and Micha, they noticed that she looked unusually strong, Arra and Micha had both become stronger and bigger since becoming immortal, but Sorrow was strong. When she became full grown they noticed that she was bigger than them. They finally got up the courage to ask about why she was so big and strong. She said that even she didn't know why, but she rembered her mother saying something about her godly powers or something. Arra and Micha stared at eachother, they knew why Sorrow was so big, why she never knew her father, and why she never cried. The smili had gods, three of them, one of them was Tearifey, the god of sadness, sorrow, tears, crying, and depression. It hit them that Tearifey was Sorrow's father.
Sorrow couldn't believe it when she heard it, but she realized that it made sense. Sorrow was also immortal due to the fact that Tearifey was her father, which made her a demigod. She decided that she could live alone after learning that, so Arra and Micha bid their farewells to the child of a god that used to be their adopted daughter. The longer they lived, the more Micha and Arra realized what a gift immortality was. They could be hit by things and knocked down but they could feel no pain and they couldn't be wounded. Micha and Arra had experiences earthquakes, hurricanes, and other disasters, and while the smilis around them died, they were the only ones standing. Although sometimes they thought immortality was a curse. When they were challenged to fights, they always won. They could do nothing but fight until the other smili backed off or died fighting them.It was also sad to see their friends die. They occasionally would meet other smilis and befriend them, but the others could get old, be wounded, and die. They never met any other immortal smilis except for Sorrow, who they came across occasionally.
Sorrow had grown even bigger and stronger, and she too had problems with immortality, but she occasionally loved her gift. Sorrow had come acroos male smilis and mated with them, she had mated with Derojo, Makis, and Fontame, but like all the normal smilis, they could die. Sorrow had seen the lifeless bodies of all of them. It had broken her heart, but she tried not to think about them. On their travels, Micha and Arra usually ate small game, but they occasionally at game that was twice their sized when it tried to eat them. It odviously didn't work for the larger animal. Another thing about their immortality was that they couldn't starve to death die, from lack of water, hypothermia, or anything else. They could feel hungry, but couldn't starve. Since their immortality, their coats became thicker and fluffier, Micha's had gotten darker, but Arra's coloring stayed the same. Sometimes when they forgot they were immortal, although, it's hard to forget that you can't be harmed and have to live with your mate for all eternity, the world seemed scary. The world seemed dangerous. Arra and Micha had not experienced this feeling in a very long time, even though time doesn't matter when you're immortal. No other living smili knew about their immortality except themselves and Sorrow. They told a normal smili once, but they had to kill him afterward. It was bloody and Arra and Micha swore to never tell another smili unless it was immortal as well.
The bloddy mess with the other smili goes like this~Arra and Micha were just walking along when a smili challenged them. He said that he had been watching them fight and win against smilis and he wanted to see if they could beat him. They explained to him about their immortality, but he still thought he could beat them. Arra and Micha just wanted to go in for the kill so the smili wouldn't have to keep fighting, but the smili was faster than the other smilis they had fought. They tried to convince him not to fight, but he didn't believe they were immortal. He didn't believe them until the point where he couldn't get his teeth to sink into Arra's neck. He finally realized that they really were immortal. He asked them to make im immortal, but when they said that they couldn't he got mad and wanted to fight them. They were only scratching him a little at a time, which made him slowly and painfully lose blood. Ending up with the dead body of a smili and puddles of blood everywhere. Arra and Micha hated fighting, yet they were skillfull at it.
They have been traveling together for more than fifty years, roaming the endless lands in search of nothing but happiness. Micha often looked back at himself, recalling what he was like and who he was. He remembered when he used to challenge smilis, most smilis would sneak up behind their opponents, Micha remembered doing that long ago, now he would fight head on instead of a sneak attack. He thought that fighting head on was better because he could end the fight quicker that way and the smili he was fighting usually didn't expect his approach. Micha also realized how he had used his intelligence more often. Micha had always been smart, but he never used his intelligence to fight, he thought fighting was just skill and strenth, but along his journeys and many fights, he relized that plotting your attacks and predicting the opponent's next move was the easiest way to win a battle. Micha remembered the days he used to try to impress the she~smili, he was good at it, but looking back at it, he found his actions imature and childish. Micha realized how much he had changed for the better one day, recalling his mishaps and quirks along the way had changed him and made him better. He still had a way to go to perfection, but he had all the time in the world for a perfect life.
Micha also noticed that his coat had changed color since becoming immortal. When he was born, his coat was a black as a starless night, but over the years it had become red and black, and his marking changed to swirls, his eyes also turned red with his coat. His coat had completely changed in the time of seventy years. He had noticed that his coat was beginning to have a tint of red, and his markings were becoming hazy a long time ago, but he didn't think much of it at the time. Hid new coat completely came into obviousness when Micha had shed in the past summer. He liked and disliked his coat at the same time. He liked it because smilis would watch in wonder as he and Arra walked by, puzzled by is bizzare coat. Yet, he disliked his new coat because it remined him of pools of blood. The red on his coat was the same shade of blood, Micha knew this from many experiences, and the swirls reminded him of pools of blood because they were circular and swirly. When Micha asked Arra about it, she said that she recalled being told somehing about their coats changing when she was still an angel. Apparently, their coats were supposed to change so no smilis would recognize them from seeing them or hearing descriptions of them. Micha didn't exactly love his coat, but he didn't have the choice to live with it or not, so he continued going on along, trying to take no notice of the bewildered smilis as he walked by.
