Kennel Number: ~68
Name: Solace
Gender: Female
Breed/Species: Smilodon Fatalis {sabre toothed tiger}

Personality:
S- erene. She’s calm most of the time, lost in her own thoughts and ‘away with the fairies’. She’s a dreamer, and will often be deep
in thought- incredibly intelligent and laid back.
O- bstinate. Though she's quite content most of the time, Solace is ridiculously stubborn. She's argue for what she believes in,
though doesn't push these thoughts onto others- she'll just refuse to be budged on certain issues.
L-
A-
C- ompassionate. Solace is always trying to fix things. Her healing nature prompts her to try and save whatever comes her way,
E- motional. Solace cries at least once a day x3 Sometimes she'll cry without even realizing, until someone mentions it or she notices
tears falling down her cheeks. A wide variety of things upset her, especially unnecessary cruelty.

Background/History:

Solace blinked, her pupils shrinking in the sudden contact with light. The morning was dry, the air light and sparse, aching her lungs with its low oxygen levels. I must’ve fallen asleep. She thought dazedly, lifting her head and gazing around at her. She lay on the base of a rocky, barren slope, the ground hard and sun baked. Tufts of yellow grass shot up from pockets here and there, and every now and then a cascade of sandy pebbles would fall down with lively a ‘clink’.

“Seren? Renegade? Ford?” She called tentatively out for the members of her pride, a shot of fear spiking her blood as she slowly realized she was alone. “Faraday?” No reply. Solace gave a whine of unease- her skin prickled. The sabre toothed feline rolled forwards, pushing up with slender legs and standing; casting her eyes again around her from a higher vantage point. The stony desert seemed to stretch on forever, cloudless skies mocking her dry throat, laughing at her need for water that would not be coming any time soon. The sharp scent of iron and salt hit her nose then- blood.

Not just any blood, but her own. Sticky crimson marred the creamy white of her shoulder, dry and clotted in vivid clarity against the light of her pelt. Solace winced, peering round at the wound with wide eyes. It was evidently swollen, a wound that would take a long recovery time even with a pride to take care and hunt for her. But she had no pride. They had gone- her foggy, pain filled mind could not fathom as to why, but they’d left her.

“Am I to die?” She whispered hoarsely to herself, unable to look at her grave injury any longer. “Felix- am I to die?”

Her prayer was to her God- the only God her kin had ever known. The great cat warrior Felix; protector of life and guardian of the spirit world. As a kitten, she had been brought up to revere, trust, and respect Him- the pride’s medicine cat would appease Him with offerings, and often the pride would hold ceremonies in His honour. So now in her unfortunate situation, it was only natural that Solace would turn to Him for comfort. But her plea held no response. Everything was silent.

With a sob of discomfort and agony, the young feline took her first step forward. The muscle underneath the bloodied laceration twanged, causing a fresh trickle of blood to drain from it. Solace howled, the sound echoing around the nothingness that enclosed her. Limping another few paces, Solace gritted her teeth and pressed her ears flat against her head. The sand underneath her paws chafed, and with a wail of surrender the cat flung herself to the ground, her weak cry no more than a whimper.

“Then I will die.” Solace mumbled through the haze of rapidly encroaching darkness. Her thin body curled around itself, and her vision began to fray at the edges, creeping grey and black. Her head spun, flashes of lights bursting in front of her. Suddenly, the ground below her seemed to disappear, and she was floating, drifting- so quiet. So quiet. Then, with a last hot breath, Solace- the patched, broken feline- died.

[ OR DOES SHE? :O –cliffhanger- You'll have to keep reading <3 ]

Use: If I got Solace, she'd be much loved. She'll have a home on my character site and thread [the thread isn't complete yet, but my site is] and will have regular art.

Victoria
Victoria was the Roman equivlent of the Greek Goddess of Victory, Nike. Nike was the Goddess of victory not just in war but also athletics. In the war against the Titans she was a personal Charioteer of the Gods. Beyond this Nike never acquired any distinctive mythology of her own.
Unlike the Greek Nike, Victoria (Latin for "victory") was a major part of Roman society. Multiple temples were erected in her honor. When her statue was removed in 382 CE by Emperor Gratianus there was much anger in Rome. She was normally worshiped by triumphant generals returning from war. Also unlike the Greek Nike, who was known for success in athletic games such as chariot races, Victoria was a symbol of victory over death and determined who would be successful during war. Victoria appears widely on Roman coins, jewelry, architecture, and other arts. She is often seen with or in a chariot, as in the late 18th-century sculpture representing Victory in a quadriga on the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin, Germany.

Tommi is my 'dream horse' He is the exact coloring I'm looking for when I head to purchase a horse. Her story is based off a story I wrote years ago, and found recently when clearing out my storage room.

"“At the center of every fairy tale
lay a truth that gave the story its power.”

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

~Basic~

Kennel Number:
One hundred nine (109)
Use:
Tommi will be added to my group of well loved and cared for characters. She is one of the characters in the story I am writing, her history is what actually happened to her in my story. If I ever make the story into a comic this is how she will look and act.
Name:
Rock On Tommi
Nick Name:
Tommi
Gender:
Female
Species:
Flaxen Liver Chestnut Quarter Horse
Age:
About 2 in horse years.
Her Home:
Tommi lives in a place known as "Thynd Shirr" (thee-nd shy-r). The land has three main areas. To the north, stretches the tall and mysterious mountains of Thynd. To the west lays the deep forests of Thynd. And to the south rests the flat plains and rivers. The main animals that live in Thynd are Bighorn sheep, bears, gray wolves, white-tailed deer, and of course, the wild horses. None of the inhabitants dare venture to the mountain and therefore make their homes on the plains and in the forest. Many trees grow here, including pine, oak, spruce, and beech, and the most common stone found in Thynd is flint.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

~Digging Deeper~

Personality:
Tommi is a believer in fairy tales, every word spoken is taken as gospel. She has a never ending string of words and questions, and it is never quiet around her unless she's sleeping. She loves listening to stories told by the older horses and will happily be quiet if you volunteer to tell her one. She's a bundle of energy and is a handful to keep up with at times. She enjoys grooming with her older brothers and family, and will take every chance she has to be with them. Some may call her childish for believing in stories she hears, but some where inside she knows their real. Something tell her they are. After all, if they aren't real where did they come from right? They had to have started somewhere!
History:
"As legend had it a strange horse roamed the mountains and the plains. Magic, they say he was. And everywhere he went little foals disappeared from their mothers side. After four foals vanished across the area the herds began to seek this horse, planning on killing it and rid it from the valley. They pursued him for days, months and months went by like this but every time the thought they were close a foal would disappear miles away which would cause them to choke in confusion. Three years later the magic horse seemed to have stopped and the horses realized he must have ether died or left. but with the joy of him leaving came great suffering. Rain almost never came and the grass died, with the starvation came sickness, and the sickness quickly killed off most of the older horses and foals. Their death cause anger to spring from the heart of the hearts, causing them to fight and eventually the herds declared a separation, heading off their separate ways..."

The young horse quickly jumped to his feet a cried out "There he is!!!". The filly in front on him squeal and quickly got to her feet and cantered in a circle. "Shio, please stop scaring her like that!" an older mare exclaimed, nipping the horse's hindquarters. "Don't worry Mizo, I'm fine." Tommi nickered shaking her mane out from the dead grass...
That night Tommi dreamed of what she pictured the magic horse looked like. A long flowing mane, powerful hooves, and eyes that shone like the stars. She wished she could meet this amazing horse, but according to the story he was dead. She would never have the chance to know his name. So instead she just imagined all the amazing stories she had heard about him. He seemed so alive in the tales, almost like he was still living and was telling her the stories himself. Little did she know a mysterious figure stood in the shadows of the trees, watching her with curious eyes...eyes that shone like stars.

Tommi awoke just before dawn, the gentle breeze sending ripples across the dew covered grass. She sighed contently, watching the sky grow lighter. Suddenly she froze as she saw the shape of a horse walking through the sleeping figures of the herd. Its left front hoof glowed a eerie silver, and and silver circled his right eye. His coat was a stunning black that looked as if it shimmered in the growing light. His mane was long and flowing like a stream of water. But something about his stance, the way he looked over the herd, showed great sadness. Like someone who was ignored by everyone around him. As the sky light up and the horses began to stir she watched the strange stallion prance away from the heard and vanish into the shadows of the forest. She stood quickly following him, but as she followed his hoof prints disappeared. Fading like he had. She looked into the forest with confusion, who was this mysterious horse?

Runako (rune-ack-oh)
Nick Name:
Nako or Rooni
Gender:
Male
Species:
Great Dane x Rhodesian Ridgeback x Doberman
Age:
About 5 in dog years.
His Home:
Runako lives in Death Vall-eey, a dry and empty place. Rain almost never comes, and the plants are dull and with no flowers. The village is small, only 10 or so houses, and surrounded by a large wicker fence, protecting the humans from the wolves. The most common wildlife in the area is the small rodents and a few deer, this of course, is not including the wolves. Oak, and pine are the usual trees found here, along with the less common maple and beech. Many stretches of land only have dead wood, that stick up like long white fingers from the ground making it look almost scary. There is a small lake in the woods but the only source of water for the villagers is the well in town.

<~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~>

~Digging Deeper~

Personality:
Runako has never hurt anyone in his life, but because of what his elders actions he is seen as a ravage animal. He has always been seeking for a way to clear his name, tending to spend more time close to human then to his pack. Towards his pack he tends to act very firm, never allowing them to hurt the humans in anyway. You could say he is a bit aggressive towards them at times. He is considered a loner, always spending his time away from the pack, only returning at night to sleep, and getting up before sunrise to head back to the village. He's not the best with new wolves and tends to ignore them most of the time. Towards humans Runako is a sweetheart, doing everything possible to gain their trust. He respects their boundary and is extra carefully not to scare them, but with his size (pony size) its hard. But he never gives up. He's stubborn, never wanting to give in. And his efforts will pay off...
History:
Many years ago there was a small town called Vall-eey, it was a very calm place, the elders were very much respected and the most action you’d seem on a normal day was Mrs. Darts walking down the street pinching the ear of a boy begging her not to take him to his mother. There were no taxes in this town yet, everyone was happy, nothing wrong ever happened. Until the wolves came. These were not the normal wolves you may see nowadays but were huge beasts, about the size of a pony, their eyes red as the night or as white as the snow during a cold winter. Their fur which smelt of blood was shaggy and thick, their paws tough but agile, and their body build to destroy. They came during one summer, it had been very hot, so hot in fact that the lakes and rivers were drying up. Which is why the wolves came. With the water rapidly disappearing the deer were force to move further and further north in search of water, and the wolves followed.
The wolves found there was more food, cattle, in abundance. So they decided to stay, slowly thinning the herds till they had disappeared completely, but that didn’t make the wolves go away. They continued to devour everything; they’d take down horses, chickens, sheep, everything edible. But the folks of Vall-eey began keeping what was left of their animals inside, but the wolves persisted. That’s where little Jessie comes into this story.
One day Jessie, daughter of the village baker, left her house to fetch some water from the well. Her father had told her to go right there and right back, so she walked straight to the well and began to draw water. The bucket lowered, splash, then she began to pull it up, her small arms straining in effort. There was a small noise behind her then something grabbed hold of her skirt and began dragging her down the road away from the town an toward the dark forest. She screamed for her father, kicking and fighting her captor. Suddenly there was more, all pulling and yanking her clothes... it was the wolves. She could feel them ripping and shredding the dress she wore, coating her bare arms and legs in drool. They began biting her, their large sharp teeth piercing her soft flesh. She heard yelling, then the wolves disappeared, and suddenly she was in her father’s arms. Tears streaked his face as he stroked her bloody wet face with shaky hands. “Daddy?” she whispered after a moment. “Yes sweet heart? Don’t worry I’m here...” He whispered back taking her hand in his. “The big dogs ruined the new dress you got me...” she whispered, just before she took her last breath.
The village grieved her death, but the wolves did not and many more people were killed by them. The village people left eventually, but before then the village name was changed to “Death Vall-eey” to remember all the people whose lives were taken by the beasts who lived there.

I was one of the few who remained in Death Vall-eey, one of the hated beast that haunted the deserted land. I have never hurt anyone, and never would. But based on what my grandparent’s generation did, I am hated. Why am I hated?! I never did anything to hurt the humans, but still everyday as I walk around the humans town I am yelled at, cursed at, and throw stuff at... I would do anything to regain the humans trust, and clear my name from the crime I never committed. My chance did come, in a strange way, but it was the chance of a life time. I needed to not mess it up...
I walk around the borders of the human’s town, sniffing for food scraps. I did this every day, hoping maybe the humans would see I won’t hurt them. I would never step foot in the town in fear that they would think of it as a threat. My sensitive nose quick picks up the scent of fresh meat, somewhere nearby. But as I run to find it I hear a heart wrenching scream. Skidding to a stop I look around and see a fellow pack member at the edge of the tree line, his eyes pinned on something. My stomach jumps to my throat as I see what it is. A child... fallen and laying on the ground, a long cut on her thin arm. She was crying, but that not what got me attention, it was the drool dripping from the wolf’s jaws. He wanted to hurt her! I quickly dash forward and he does the same, reaching her at the same time, a loud scream erupting from her. I pounce, knocking the younger wolf off his feet to the ground. As I fight him I continue to hear her screams in fear, terrified as she watched the two wolves fighting in front of her, mere feet from her. Finally the younger wolf races off, blood soaking his shoulder from a deep gash made from my teeth. I growl as I watch him run off, standing between him and the young girl, protecting her. As his thick tail disappears into the dark forest I turn around, and very carefully, with my head low and eyes down I walk over to her. Her lip quivered in fear but her eyes showed she knew I had saved her. I slowly lower myself to my belly, now crawling towards her, trying to make myself seem as docile as possible. As I reach her I gently nudge her leg, and give it a small lick, showing her I wasn’t going to hurt her. But I must have still looked scary...I feel a sharp pain in my side as a large boot slams into me, knocking my breath away. A hard wood stick hitting me several time till I yelp and quickly dash away. Just before I enter the forest I glance back once, watching the angry but scared faces or the humans as they check to see if the girl was ok. But my eyes ignored them, focusing on the girl. Her eyes....showed thanks. I couldn’t believe it, but as I continued to watch her I clearly saw under her tear streaked cheeks, a small smile, she understood what I had done even if the other humans did not. She trusted me... Finally I turn and race into the forest, heading to find the wolf that almost ruined my chances at gaining the humans trust.

-3 days later –

For the first time since last seeing that girl I had build up the courage to go try again. The wolf that had gone to hurt her was dead...killed by the humans. His tail had been taken and hung on the fence surrounding the town, a symbol to show we are not welcome. But still my urge to gain their love overcame me and I slowly ventured out of the woods and towards their home. I wander cautiously around the fence, till I see what I’m looking for, the girl... She sat on the dusty ground, playing with a well loved doll and humming to herself. I quickly lay down close to the fence, watching her with one eye and keeping a look out with the other. As I listen to her song my heart leapt, here’s how it went;

Do-do-do
My little doll and me,
Sitting here under the maple tree,
Why can’t anybody see?
That the wolf saved me...

The song made me sad, but extremely happy at the same time. It showed her love, but it also showed that the other humans still didn’t trust me or any other wolves. I must have whimpered in sorrow because when I looked up next, the girl was sitting in front of me behind the fence. I jump in fright but she cooed softly to me, and I cautiously settled back down again. Watching her with eyes fully of unspeakable questions. We sat for a long while, just looking at each other, no words were spoken, and neither of us moved a muscle. Our eyes explained everything to the other, answering all the questions and telling all the stories. Finally she stood, smiled, and wandered away to her home. And I did the same and wandered back into the woods to my pack, my heart racing like a race horse, but my eyes full of joy.

-1 week later-

The girl and I did this every day for the rest of the week, she never spoke, I never moved, we just watched each other from opposite sides of the fence. The only words that were spoken were her singing, singing about her doll and the big brave wolf that save her. The village soon began to accept me, allowing me to stay close as long as I never past the fence. Every afternoon I would spend time with this girl, who I found out was named Emma, and she would tell me storied about our made-up adventures together...
That was my life... and I wouldn’t do anything to change it. Yes, I may not be living with them, or be allowed to walk the dusty roads and paths of the village, but as long as Emma is there I am happy...

Dark green-ish blue, the the deepest parts of the ocean.
Favorite Flower:
Blue Bells
Favorite Day:
Monday, because this is the day the most animals come to the river for water. Good hunting!
Likes:
Runako adores all things, everything from the squirrel that wakes him in the morning, to the last glimpses of light at night. He loves everything he can see.
Dislikes:
Besides his hate of the humans judging, he doesn't dislike anything...well other than rotting meat. Yuck.

Use For Character:
Well, same as all my other characters adopted from here, Runako will be given his own special spot in my character thread and be flooded with art drawn by me and other people. He will be used in role-plays if I find one I like, and more.
