Klio's always been a head-turner, and with looks as good as hers she couldn't help it. But all that attention has gone slightly to her head. She's a haughty girl, always hanging around with the "popular" crowd and scoffing at some of the littler Daeets. She's bound and determined to be the best at pretty much anything she can think of and very - and I do mean VERY rarely settles for anything less than perfection. While she can play the cute and charming girl-next-door type she very rare lets her true colors show. Behind her save-the-world quotes and her I-love-everyone demeanor Klio is a harsh woman indeed. Sharp, cunning and manipulative; if there's dirty work she needs done, she'll sweet talk someone into doing it for her. Whether it's a simple hazing to a full-on scheme she's always got plans formulating in her head. Klio's not the type to take being stood up to very well either. She will find a way to make you submit. There was this one guy - but I'll save that for another place. As long as you stay out of Klio's path and keep your head down around here, you'll be just fine. It's only after you show that you have a mind of your own that you become a threat in her eyes. If there's one thing that Klio can't stand, it's someone going against her plans. In her words, "Why bother to do any planning at all when there's that one variable that screws the whole thing up?!" Her plans take time to fully formulate and come into their own. To have all that work just wasted is the one thing that will set Klio off on a warpath straight for your reputation. If that doesn't work, she begins to break apart. She doesn't know what to do with anyone that she can't manipulate!
History:
When Klio was born she was raised by a caretaker instead of her own parents. She was never abused in any way, more often it was just ignored or rejected. She did try her best to get in good with her parents, but they were always too busy for her. Sometimes she wondered if her parents had resented her for being born, but those thoughts were quickly washed away by affectionate nuzzles from her caretaker, Janine. Janine was a gorgeous Daeet, and definitely considered popular with both the boys and girls. Almost everyone knew Janine and Klio loved being associated with her. More importantly, for the first time ever she found herself with emotions she didn't quite understand. Try as she might, she couldn't place a finger on what exactly was running through her mind..or her heart. Janine kept Klio close by her side, giving in to nearly all of the younger Daeet's whims and teaching her all about the world and everything she's experienced in it. Joy, sorrow, friendship and loss. The vivid world that Janine's words painted for Klio was astounding, one that she knew she'd want to explore fully! The day came that Klio wanted just more than to hear about everything out in that wide world, she wanted to live it. To get out there and actually live! Janine always ended their nights by promising that in due time, they would head out and explore that wondrous world together, and that though often lulled Klio into a gentle slumber filled with dreams of exploration and the world outside her forest glade.
Time passed by and in what felt like a blink of an eye to Klio, it was time for Janine to part with her. The thought of this saddened Klio, it was like watching her mother walk away. Janine was Klio's world, she loved that Daeet with a passion and couldn't stand watching her leave to raise another Daeet. She had to think of something to make her stay! That's when she remembered the promise they made. It'd be earlier than she had originally planned, but it was her last chance! She made her move and reminded Janine of the promise they'd made and when Janine began to try and blow it off as a childish whim again, Klio turned on the waterworks and a good guilt trip. The tears paired with the phrase, "Janine...please...You're practically my mother. I've trusted you all these years, don't just walk away from me." worked like a charm. It got Janine to stay and soon the two were fulfilling their promise to leave the glade and experience the rest of the world.
That's how Klio's spent her days thus far, traveling alongside her caretaker and learning everything she can about the world. All the while Klio was realizing the strange gift for manipulation she had. She liked how it made her feel, strong...cunning. To have her expected calculations to come out on top nearly every time was incredible to her. And she loved studying other Daeets and their reactions to certain situations. She watched others very closely, observing every subtle detail in their body language and voice and making notes of what caused each of them. Then she put her notes to the test and was very proud when they succeeded, and when they didn't. She got mad at herself. She'd revise and retry her plans on so many different Daeets that she'd often lose track. But that's how she liked it. She was a scientist of sorts, a sociologist...a person watcher. She loved her job.
