Icarus had stood casually among the crowd as they watched the new Ahenzai emerge from the swirling vortex. As the graceful, cautious female approached the onlookers, Icarus had identified with the nervous look in her eyes. She was often haunted by the same fear of the unknown, the paranoia that caught her planning escape strategies and identifying possible weapons in every uneasy situation. Icarus followed the Ahzenai's gaze as her blue eyes darted back and forth from the shelter of the trees to the curious onlookers, as they, one by one, approached her. Icarus calmly waited until the crowd began to clear, and the striking white Ahzenai was alone in the circle or people.
Icarus had recognized the fragile nervousness in her movements, and adapted her approach accordingly. She made her way toward the female and stopped several yard away, as to avoid spooking her. Icarus sat down cross-legged. She looked at the beautiful creature, patient, allowing her to adapt to the human's presence. When Icarus spoke, it was softly, and in the most charming, comforting voice she could muster. "Hello there, Xeusi."
She had encountered skittish creatures before, and understood the trick to calming them was quiet and patience, so Icarus took her time, and spoke softly. "You are lovely, Xeusi. Absolutely beautiful. Xeusi, perhaps you could come with me... We could be companions. I will protect you, keep you safe..." As she spoke, Icarus slowly extended her hand in a gesture of friendship.
"Would you care to join me, Xeusi?"
