Zver you want:CC9
Name:Cianna
Nickname(s):Cia, Ci
Reason you want it:It's been quite a while since one caught my eye, but this beautiful girl most definitely has. Her design is absolutely gorgeous and I've totally fallen in love. The design being gears, and in such nice colours, is absolutely wonderful, and I'm drawn to anything even remotely steampunk. Add to that the personality and I can't not try for her.
What will you do with it if you win?:
If I win this lovely girl, she'll be my last normally-adopted zver. I do believe that she would make an excellent final addition to my team. Her colours are a nice contrast to the darker tones of my other zvers and her personality also differs from theirs nicely so it would be a nice balance to have. Already I have many ideas for her story that I am looking forward to exploring. She will likely be in my signature for a while, and she will join the others on my character site. I may, from time to time, order or do art of her. It is also likely that I'll write about her alongside my other zvers, time permitting. If there is ever another roleplay started I would consider joining with her.
Personality:Subject CC9 Notes
Small, but feisty, CC9 is not one to mess
around with. She does not take to humans
easily and will not be seduced into
partnership without a lot of patience.
Wild to the core and energetic to boot,
you'd be very lucky to be creative enough
to charm her into befriending you.High strung and almost always full of energy, Cianna is the type that always has to be doing something. She very rarely sits around doing nothing, and resting and sleeping are very low on her list of priorities. If she's set on something she will run herself ragged, nearly to the point of collapse. She quite enjoys playing games with those she trusts, even when they're not aware that a game is being played.
Her Introduction:
Her time spent locked up in the lab had a poor effect on her personality. Her already wary nature became one of distrust, especially in regards to humans. Small, enclosed spaces make her panicky and nervous, memories of the lab at the front of her mind during these times. She much prefers being outside, often opting to go so far as to sleep outside.
When one looks past the energy displayed by Cianna, they'll begin to see a truly cunning and intelligent creature. She is almost always on alert, which is partially another side effect of her time spent as a science project, and rarely misses anything. Many of the games she plays are mental ones, tests really, to see reactions and find boundaries. If she is to trust someone, she expects a similar level of intelligence to be present in that being.Footsteps echoed down the hallway, coming closer to where CC9 was crouched. Everything about her screamed wild and dangerous, if the humans could see her now they would flinch with fear. Her eyes were open wide, muscles tensed, the fur along her spine bristling, and her tail sticking swishing silently over the cement floor.
Darkness had fallen in the compound, the only light coming from dim red bulbs spaced far apart down the hall. She had long ago assumed that this meant it was night outside. Most of the humans were no longer in the compound, going off to where ever it was that they spent their time when they weren't around to ruin her life. There were still enough humans around, walking the halls, that it made it hard to sleep at night. They carried weapons, strapped to their sides or held in their hands, that could inflict a serious amount of damage. She'd seen it on a few occassions since she'd arrived here.
Enough was enough though. CC9 was through with tests and being poked and prodded by humans.
She was leaving.
Escaping from her cage had proven to be rather simple. She'd watched how the humans opened and closed it enough times that she'd figured out how the latch worked. Standing up on her hindpaws she'd grabbed for the latch for what felt like ages until she'd managed to knock it loose. Her paw still ached, and she had likely pulled a muscle when she was struggling. The adrenaline coursing through her veins masked any pain that she might normally have felt.
From her hiding spot CC9 could hear the guard's footsteps pause, having found the empty cage. Not even a second later she could hear him moving again, faster than before and gaining speed. He was running straight towards her, clearly planning to sound the alarm. He would not ruin her chance at freedom.XxXxX
The guard, his name Doug, was a tall young man, someone accustomed to hard work. He'd signed up to work the night shift as a guard for the pay, mostly. Such money would go far for someone who lived a simple life like him. What he hadn't expected upon signing up for the job was how dangerous it could actually be.
In the last month alone there'd been four escapes, and at least two of his colleagues still had the marks to show for it. Others, those who'd worked longer still bore scars from their run ins with escaping creatures. Every day that he went home without a mark he counted himself lucky.
So when he saw the barred door of one of the cages slightly ajar and empty of any creatures, he froze. A chill ran down his spine and he felt cold with fear. Moving again, he went over in his mind what to do in such a situation. He knew he needed to sound an alarm, let the other guards no they had an escaped creature loose in the compound. He quickened his pace, terrified that if he went to slow that his chances of finding the creature would increase.
His hand had already found the gun, which lacked the power to seriously wound or kill anything, that was strapped to his waist. He'd just pulled it from the holster when a blur at the corner of his vision caught his attention. He turned just as the creature slammed into him. Teeth flashed red in the pale light and a blur of fur were the only thing he saw as he fell backwards. He hit the cement floor hard, landing on his back. Sharp teeth sunk into his shoulder and he cried out in pain and struggled pathetically.
Through the terror and pain he remembered the gun, which had fallen just away from his hand. He reached for it, feeling the cool metal against his skin, and grabbed it. He slammed the butt of the gun against the side of the creature's head, knocking it off his chest. He struggled to get to his feet before the creature could turn on him again.XxXxX
The knock to the head had dazed CC9 momentarily, but her freedom was at stake. Shaking it off, she rounded on the human and launched herself at him again. His arm came up fast, gun still held tightly. She heard the bang seconds before she felt the pain in her shoulder. She hit the human hard and they both went down. The human's head hit the cement wall hard and he slumped to the ground.
CC9 struggled to get back to her paws, pain shooting through her shoulder when she put weight on it. She gritted her teeth and started limping quickly down the hallway, trying to ignore the pain as best she could. There wasn't enough time for her to waste, it wouldn't be long before the guard woke up or someone found him.
Every step brought a fresh wave of pain, and CC9 had to stop several times. As she drew closer to the doors that led outside the alarms finally went off and she could hear guards hurrying down halls. The doors were automatic, having already opened as she approached. The lights on the wall started flashing and the doors started to close. Mustering up her energy, she threw herself through the small opening just before it closed.
The fresh air was almost over whelming at first, she could actually smell trees! Slowly, she heaved herself back up and started limping off into the trees. She didn't know how long she'd walked, but exhaustion and pain were beginning to cloud her mind. So when she smelled the faint scent of another zver she thought she wasn't sure if it was truly real. She followed it anyway.
It could have been only a few feet or a few hundred, but finally she collapsed in an exhausted heap. The last image she saw before losing consciousness were the distorted faces of a human male and a brown furred zver.XxXxX
Farther off into the trees were a strange pair. A human and a zver. Neither seemed even remotely comfortable in the other's presence, the human watching the creature with suspicion and the creature returning equally distrustful looks. It was clear that the human was not a bond mate to the zver, but there was enough trust between the two.
The human, Brennan, felt much like a babysitter. Well, he would anyways, if the one he was watching wasn't a dangerous animal. Or a dog walker, which did seem more accurate. If the creature he was 'walking' weren't quite so intelligent. Unlike the others, he wasn't very comfortable around the zvers, with their alien features and intelligent eyes. Somehow, though, he'd been roped into 'supervising' Zala while the zver was outside. Apparently staying inside all day with his bond mate left Zala with too much energy, so, since Sven was too busy, Brennan had been tasked with watching the zver.
Brennan didn't notice right away when Zala stopped moving, not until he almost bumped into him. He'd only enough time to notice the tension in Zala's muscles before the zver took off. Not impressed, Brennan ran after the zver, worried and cautious. It wouldn't be the first time they'd had trespassers, but he did hope it was only an animal.
He skirted the tree Zala had gone around and stopped immediately, nearly tripping over Zala. The pair of blue eyes that focussed on them startled him, but they closed within seconds. Brennan's gaze remained stuck to the zver laying there on the path, taking in the sight of the blood with a dazed sort of shock.
Both Brennan and Zala moved forward at the same time, Zala taking in the intruder's scent while Brennan's knelt down beside the unconscious creature. He pulled out his phone, hitting speed dial and speaker before setting it on the ground beside him.
"Hello?" came a voice on the other end.
"Hey, Sven, I've got a small problem," Brennan said as he pulled his sweater off.
"What is it?" Sven asked, alarm clear in his voice. His first thought would have gone to Zala.
As he pressed the sweater against the wound, he responded, "We've found an injued zver out here, I think it's from the lab."
"Hang on, I'll track your location and send a team out." Sven had calmed considerably now that he knew Zala was safe.
"Thanks," Brennan said, leaving the phone where it was as he did his best to treat the wounds.XxXxX
CC9 had drifted in and out of consciousness since being found, a combination of pain and medications keeping her under. Finally though, she did wake up. Around her she could hear strange machines whirring and beeping, some farther away than others and off to one side there were hushed voices. She couldn't bring herself to worry about those with the pain killers still in her system. The smell was terrible, too clean and unnatural, too similar to the lab. A terrible feeling grew inside of her, a sense of worry that she'd been found and taken back to the lab.
When she opened her eyes and moved her head to get a better view of her surroundings the room spun, leaving her dizzy for a moment. Once her eyes had focussed she found herself in a strange room, one she didn't recognize. She was on some sort of padded table and there were two others against a far wall, empty, along with a lot of strange looking human machines. Her gaze slipped to the source of the voices she'd heard.
Three humans stood along the wall, beside the door. Two males and a female and, based on what she'd observed at the lab, she guessed the one male was significantly older than the other two who looked to be close in age. The younger male turned his head to look at her, his gaze meeting hers. She recognized him, though his features were much clearer now that she wasn't passing out. He brought the other humans' attention to her, all three now looking at her.
CC9 watched as the older male said something else before turning and leaving. Two two remaining humans made their way over to her, moving slowly as though they were worried. It took her a moment to realize that they weren't worried about her attacking, but more worried they'd startle her. Which seemed strange, she'd never seen the other humans act like this.
As they drew closer she realized she vaguely recognized the female too, she must have seen her at some point when she was drifting in and out. The pair paused beside the table where she lay. While the male continued to watch her, the woman turned to a machine near the bed.
"Everything alright, Natalia?" he asked, his voice quiet, soft. Almost. . . soothing. Again, as if trying not to startle her.
"It all looks good, she should be fine now," the woman replied, matching the man's soft tone. "She'll need a name, if we're really going to convince them to let her stay."
Still moving slowly, the man raised his hand. When CC9 tensed, he stopped moving. He waited until she'd relaxed slightly before finishing the motion. His hand landed lightly on her head, hesitantly he began stroking behind her ear. It was surprisingly soothing, and the look on the woman's face was also encouraging. A smile, something CC9 had rarely seen at the lab.
"How about Cianna?" the male suggested, seeming nervous. The woman nodded, seeming to agree with the name. CC9, Cianna, rather liked it too.
For the first time in what felt like forever Cianna felt good, almost happy even. Maybe it was possible for there to be good humans. After a moment she recognized the feeling: Hope.XxXxX
It's been too long since I last did much writing, I feel like this is harder than it should've been even though I have plenty of ideas. I need to start writing again :\.
This has gotten a bit long so I'll cut it off here. My apologies for length O.o
