I don't think that movies or books shouldn't have wolves have the bad guy simply because even though it is a very slight difference the more you associate wolves with evil the more you simply think of all wolves as evil. Stories like little red riding hood that are read to children can and has make a difference on their opinion on wolves. And people thinking of wolves as evil beasts will not help.

Now, while there isn't (to my knowledge) of a group of people out to ban any movies showing wolves as 'bad guys', I still think the article is similar enough to compare to this situation as well.

Hmm...intreasting article.I rather enjoy the fact that people are beginning to go a bit public on there ideas,i just hope that this doesnt turn into a mini riot though...

There are a few wolf negative movies out there, but what does that matter?
If they cause some people to hate wolves, then so be it. Those people are obviously uneducated, it’s not a big deal-they will learn the truth sooner or later. And even if they don’t, does it matter? Like I said, no one will go on a wolf poaching rampage just because of a movie.
Hating an animal just because of a movie isn’t very smart, but people can do what they wish with their lives. It’s just an opinion, and the world won’t go into utter chaos just because someone hates wolves.
And I also noticed that most of those movies are about werewolves, not wolves. Now, I’m not saying anyone that does believe in therians/werewolves is wrong, but have they ever really been proven to exist? No, of course not. I don’t think many people will hate wolves because of a werewolf movie.
A lot of those movies were made a long time ago, too.
Like cerulean blue. said, people pay to watch a fictional movie, not a documentary.
You said they should ‘think of something new’- well, they do. All the time. Is every single movie that comes out in theatres focussing around man-eating wolves? No. Point proven.

You're right about "no one will go on a wolf poaching rampage just because of a movie", but I know that too. What frustrates me personally are the lies spewed all over the place by the ignorant individuals who can't be bothered to do their own research on wolves. The majority are quite content listening to the stories and watching the films, which merrily pass from one person to the other. Lies are never positive. Like a 'good' movie, the buzz you get from a lie will eventually bite back. Even if it's only a white one.

And yes, the majority of the films that I posted were werewolf-related. But where do werewolves originate from? Yarp, wolves. People do link werewolves with wolves themselves, due to the howling at the full moon (which some people believe is a fact, when in reality, research has proven that wolves may actually howl less on the full moon), the fur, the teeth, the tail, ears...

You're also correct about documentaries. There do not seem to be many documantaries regarding wolves on television, in my experience, and the majority are positive because they're correct, thank god. Yes, there's always the negative ones for the audience, but they're there for almost every 'popular' animal. Especially lions and sharks.

I do indeed. They're who irritate me the most. But if whoever created the hatin' films didn't in the first place, the issue wouldn't be so great. The negative films just add to the problem, and I'd much prefer a positive film. But naturally, they're not going to be as popular with the general public than the violent and thrilling ones.

Thank ye for the titles also. I've heard of some of them before, and I'll be searching through the rest. ^^

Mm, I've never read Harry Potter or seen the films, because witchcraft and wizardry does not interest me, and nor do I religiously allow it, but I don't think children should be banned from reading them just because of the topic. It is only fantasy, but I doubt any kid's going to turn to demonism because of some fairy tales and pretty pictures. And as Van stated, nobody's going to turn to wolf hunting because of the stories either, but still, it doesn't give wolves the rightful image that they deserve.

Good article there, too.

Add me to the supporters list. Wolves are one of my favorite animals. So graceful and pretty <3

One of the reasons I hate Sarah Palin is because she killed lots of wolves. And guess what? They didn't do the slightest thing to her. Just minding there own business and then BAM! She kills them.

And did you know wolves do not have beta's and such? It was proved by the scientists who study wolves that it is just plain alphas and there children. No betas or anything like that.

EDIT:
Heeyy, Look what I made:

Oh, joy. Sarah Palin, who is the most horrible person ever, she is the very definition of evil! sarcasmsarcasm

While I don't agree with aerial hunting, I do support ground regulated hunting.
Palin and her family are nature-lovers, as are most hunters.

"Killed lots of wolves" isn't a very good reason to hate someone. :s
