GO!
"Shhh! We have to be quiet!" Mother stands quietly in her nest and speaks in hushed tines to her mate. Father stands quietly as well, not even making a rustle.
Mother and Father cast one last glance at their only daughter, Show. She sleeps soundly in her small nest. So peaceful. Not yet ready to be abandoned.
Mother has tears in her eyes, unable to stop the flow. But Faher intervenes.
"Let's go" he rushed her, not letting her say goodbye to their daughter. They slip out of the large den and dash into the forest. Birds cry out alarms and Father curses them. Mother keeps crying, her tears falling more freely now.
Father is disappointed in her. He thought she would at least have some sanity in her. He puts on a face and emits a low growl, signaling for her to stop her cries.
Mother hears this, and chokes back her last sob. She stifles them, not able to stop them. silent and silvery tears roll down her cheeks and her eyes shine in the moonlight.
The moon casts dancing shadows, converting the forest in them. Animals, deep under ground an doreparing for winter, hear the swift steps of the Charmi above their heads. They roll their eyes in annoyance and go in with their preparation for hibernation.
As the moon begins to set, crickets die down and the chirruping stars. Birds emerge from their twiggy nests and stretch their wings, about to begin the morning song.
Father tries to rush Mother even more, and becoming more aggressive.
"Hurry up!" he snarled at her. Mother, being the delicate being as she is, becomes hurt by this. But the hurt is replaced by raging anger.
"You tell me to hurry, to be quiet. I just had to leave my only daughter for you! Just because you didn't want her!" she barked at him, rather forcefully. Father becomes enraged.
Mother knows he is bigger, stronger, and more skilled than her. But she does not back down. She only stands taller, and let's the tears free fall from her eyes and let them cascade down her elegant, black cheeks.
Father comes closer to her and snarls in her face. He raised a paw, claws extended and slashes it across her face, scoring her cheek.
Mother screeches in pan and collapses. But Father isn't finished. He leaned down close and snarl sin her ear.
"Get up, and hurry" he says.
Mother curls her lip in the beginnings of a snarl, but Father silences her by biting her ear, hard. Mother whimpers and scrambles to her paws. Father begins to run again. Mother follows obidiently.
"I never should have asked you to be my mate" she mutters. But Father hears, and he smirks. What his mate says, is always the truth.
~*~*~*~*~*~*
Show yawns and rolls onto her back. She opens one eye, but is quickly blinded by a ray of sunlight that was peeking through the den.
She closed it immeadietly and laughs, rolling onto her stomache. She expected to hear her fathers sharp crtisism to not be so foolish, and her mothers gentle laugh. But nothing came.
She opened her eyes to see what happened to them, and why they weren't speaking. But when she looked around the den, they weren't any where to be found.
Not creeping up behind her, not sleeping soundly in their nests, and not coming inside.
At this, she immeadietly started to panic.
"Mother!" she cried out, jumping up to her paws and scurrying out of the den.
"Father!" th tears began to rain. She had never been alone yet. She was too young. Where we're they?
She rushed around the sandy hollow, in which they lived. Or now only she lived in.
She check under neath the old log, behind the den, and around the edge of the clearing.
Se started to cry harder now. Show plopped herself down in the middle of the sandy clearing, and cried.
Wait, why was she dong this? A strong and popular Charmi like her shouldn't be crying like this. She sniffled one last time, and stood up. She was a bit shaky n her legs and her eyes burned from the tears, but she had to stay strong.
Now that her parents are gone, she needs to take care of herself. Show began to pace, thinking furiously. She would have to hunt for herself, but first learn how. She wanted to resize the large den to her size. If her parents chose to abandon her, she didn't want anything to do Keith them anymore.
She wod have to gather medicine supplies, and maybe a barrier around the sandy clearing.
So much to do, let such little time....
Overtime, Show had begun to work late into the night, with the moon shining down hardly on her back. And something extrodinary had become to emerge. Instead of pure white, her fur had become to take the image of a moon rising over the horion.
She didn't quite know, why this miraculous change was happening, and why it chose now to do it, but she liked it.
Shiw had learn to hunt. By crouching low and keeping off the groundso she didn't rustle any leaves. Keep her tail elevated and breath through her nose. You had to be patient for it to work. And then, strike! With these teqnuiques, she was a pro at it.
Also, she had begun to resize the den. Bit by bit, her Fathers and Mothers nests were disappearing.
Her memory of them was also leaving her mind as well. Slowly to be replaced with much more important thoughts.
She was strong now. She had been reborn to be this miraculous being. She had been born again.
