Peahen 01

Okay, I want from the very bottom of her chest(where it vanishes behind the leg) up to look just like the very same part of this peahen. So, since I know I'm probably already starting to sound confusing, let me see if I can make it sound simpler. I want the Tali's chest, neck, and head, to be colored and patterened just like the Peahen's breast, neck, and head. There, that sounded much better. xD


Peahen 02

As for this gal, I want the Tali's torso to look like that of this peahen's. In other words, I want the Tali's body, excluding the legs and tail, to match the body(including the wing patterns) of this Peahen.



These guys are so cool. X3 You can throw in the pattern from the strutting male's tail(you know, the part with the green dots) anywhere you think it would accent. You don't even have to include it at all, but I thought it might be a neat option.



As for this guy, I want the Tali's legs and tail to be striped just like this Zonkey's legs. :B Underneath the stripes on the tail, I want the Tali's coloring to match the coloring of Peahen 01's tail. Underneath the stripes on the legs, I want the coloring to be as brown as the patch on Peahen 02's wing.

Her eyes should be emerald green, also. And I almost forgot about her tail tuft. I want it green, like the patches in the peahen's feathers, with a few white streaks. I'd like it if her ears were patterend the same as her face, patched emerald and white. You could make her inner ears a nice, pale, rosy pink. Make her paws white up to the ankle, maybe let the edge waver a little so that it doesn't look too much like a pair of socks. Here's an example of what I'm refering to:

A horses stockings are usually staggered slightly around the edges, so that's how I want my Tali's to be done. You can make her pads on that one foot a light pink, like her inner ears.

Amare sat on one of the high cliffs that made up the land of Oscurus, staring out at the approaching thunderhead. A new burst of wind blew the onyx and ivory mane on her neck back, making her close her eyes in a serene bliss. But this storm wasn't one she'd be able to sit in and enjoy; lightning flashed violently within its depths, and the rain made every mountain and lake behind its curtain hazy and unclear. Her tail waved slowly, like a cat watching its prey, her slender grey-tinged ears perked forward. If she waited any longer, the lightning might strike her before she had a chance to run. The female smiled at the thought; not even the lightning could catch her. Standing on her high perch with the wind battering her fur, she unleashed something of a howl, a vocal challenge to the force of nature. And, as if in reply, the lightning flashed again and thunder roared it's acceptance. Amare grinned broadly and whipped around, taking off down the cliff face and into the open plains. Most would call her crazy, or stupid, or try and convince her to get where it was safe. But she was looking for a thrill.

Amare's long legs ate up the ground, her powerful hindquarters thrusting her lithe, athletic form forward in increasingly long strides. The wind bit at her heels, the thunder crashing in frustration as the cloud's electric fingers couldn't seem to catch the female Tali. Suddenly one bolt struck a little too close, and Amare ducked into a long, dark tunnel, only to re-emerge back onto the plains a few short minutes later. She looked back to smile at the thunderhead, her blue eyes sparkling mischieviously as her strides became longer and her launches more powerful. The storm was fast, but she was faster. Slowly the Tali began to pull away, finally out of reach once more as she began to climb a nearby mountain, leaping up the cliffs like a pronghorn. The storm was quick to catch up, but her race was over. She had won.

Turning to look at the thunderhead one last time, she ducked inside the entrance to a deep, dark cave, just before the rain could wet her beige and blue coat. She stretched and yawned, legs aching blissfully from the extended run. She slowly walked back a little ways in the cave as the rain began to fall outside, softly at first, then in an almost deafening torrent of water hitting the steep mountain cliffs and deep valleys. And the farther back she went, the more the rain began to fade, and another sound came to her ears: whimpering, like that of a young one. "Hello?" Amare asked, her voice a mere whisper above the pounding rain outside.

"W-who are you?" A small voice answered, Amare seeing a black shape inch deeper into the shadows.

"It's alright," she crooned. "I'm not going to hurt you. My name is Amare, I'm just seeking shelter." The female Tali paused. "What's yours?" She asked.

"I-I don't have one," he replied.

"Don't have one, huh?" Amare pondered aloud, lapsing into silence. Suddenly lightning struck behind her, illuminating the entire cavern in a brilliant display of light. From that, Amare stole her first glance of the little male's dark coat and turquoise markings. But, at the same time, she could see the terror in his face when the lightning had struck and the thunder that growled in response. Amare didn't flinch. "It's alright," Amare whispered, lying down. "Its only a storm. It can't hurt you, even though it sounds like it can." The young male Tali was silent for a long moment.

"A-are you sure?"

Amare smiled. "Yes, I'm sure. Come here." Slowly the little one slunk out of the shadows, and Amare could see how small he really was. At this age, he should still be with his mother. He looked well-fed, though, maybe having missed only a few meals. "Come on," Amare crooned as lightning struck again, making him bolt for Amare's side. He quickly laid down and snuggled up to her, trembling in fear. Amare smiled and nuzzled him, licking his ear affectionately. She loved pups, and she felt a connection to the little one. There was silence as the storm raged on, but Amare felt that there was more to be said. "So you don't have a name," she wondered. "Well, why don't I give you one?" She suggested. The little Tali looked up at her with excitement.

Amare thought about it for a long time as the storm faded into the distance, the black sky peeking out from small breaks in the otherwise iron grey cloud cover. Suddenly a name cxame to Amare's mind, a Hindi word that would be perfect for a pup without parents. "Khoya," she told him, looking down at him happily.

"What does that mean?" He whispered.

"It means 'lost' in Hindi. I thought it might fit you," She murmured, nuzzling him. The newly dubbed Khoya only nodded, yawning tiredly as the last wave of the storm raged on outside, the rain pounding even harder than before as if in a last ditch effort to reach the duo that rested safely within the cavern. "Go on and rest, tomorrow I'll take you to meet the others so you can find a new home. Within moments the young one was fast asleep, and Amare wasn't far behind.

The next morning Amare awoke to bright sunlight illuminating the front of the cave, barely able to reach her back. She raised her head and yawned, then looked down at Khoya. He was still fast asleep. She smiled fondly; she had always wanted a pup. Nudging him awake, she licked his ear. "Come on, let's get going before the day gets hot," she said. Khoya groaned and yawned, standing up after Amare and stretching as the female set off at a trot.

"Hey wait!" Khoya said, bounding up to her. "Come on, I know a short cut!" He yipped, bolting off into the darkness. Amare rolled her eyes and ran after him, into the tunnels she didn't know existed and hadn't seen the night before. It was a nice run, the two dodging stalactites and leaping over collapsed portions or walls as rares stones glittered overhead with natural luminosity, creating beautiful lights bathing the walls in every different shade of purple, blue, yellow, green, and red imaginable. And every now and again, a shaft of sunlight would show through the ceiling and sparkle on the still puddles left from the night before. Finally the two emerged on a cliff face above the main cavern where every species imaginable were mingling, waiting for new Tali to make their appearance. They watched as Arimu and his new companion take off at full speed out of the cave and Amare inwardly groaned; she worried that in their eagerness to win Khoya's attentions that the suitors would swarm him and scare the young one. She took a deep breath and climbed down with Khoya, watching the young one's ebony coat ripple beautifully in the midmorning sunlight . She couldn't deny that she had already grown attached to him, but he needed to make his own decisions. As well, Amare couldn't help but be amused at how different he seemed now that the storm had moved on. She smiled fondly as her paws hit the ground, Khoya looking up at her happily. She smiled back, then cast warning glances at everyone around her to stay back, which most heeded said warnings and did. But a few bounded up in overexcitement, causing Amare to growl and force them to listen to the warnings she was giving. Then, with Khoya in tow, she approached Raxi and explained the situation and about Khoya, the leader announcing the young one's present. Amare looked down at Khoya then, wanting to give him a chance to come with her.

"Khoya," she began. "You're going to hear from others that they want you to come with them and be their companion. I want you to choose what you want. And if they give you a name that you like better, then you take. You have an obligation to listen to your heart and choose your own path. But if you get scared, or none of them have what you want, you can always come back to me. I'd love to have you by my side if that's what you want. But do give them a chance, and at at least listen to them, even if that's all you do. Be safe," she murmured, licking his ear before nudging him off to go meet some of the suitors. She then sat beside Raxi and glanced at him nervously, lapsing into silence as she worried for the little one. And Amare wished more than anything that Khoya would come back to her and stay, so she would know he'd be safe and she wouldn't have to worry.
