Gotta do it while she's still here or I shall have to kick myself
Goennec Pen #: 1
Name: Razzy, though often called Razz by the herd.
Height: 2'1
Age: 4
Why do you want this goennec?:A shorter list would be any reasons I would not want Razzy, there aren’t any. I fell in love with Razzy the second I saw her but sadly didn’t have chance to work on a form for her. There is nothing about this gorgeous girl I do not like, from her design to the whole sense of personality I get from her she’s just perfect to me.
To start with her design, it is out and out beautiful. I have to say I have always been a huge lover of natural colours and brown is one of my favourites. The mix of pinky red and white against the darker brown coat is such a striking combination and the swirls give her such a playful feel to her design. I just clicked with her right away.
I just adore her little bobbed tail (I have a soft spot for bob tailed Goennec’s) it just suits her so well and ties in with her personality in my head perfectly, I also love her mane. It looks so soft and fluffy.
Razzy would be a fantastic Goennec to start my herd with, along with Shayana of course, as I think she’d be such a strong and vibrant personality.
Razz has already taken on a life of her own in my head and I knew I had to try for her, watching her stay in her pen for the last few weeks has been awful and I felt so bad for her, I’m glad that now I’ve got the opportunity to offer her a loving home now.
Even with such a fantastic looking batch of Stellar formation inspired Goennec’s (which I was really excited for) Razzy is still the Goennec that stands out the most to me, her design just outshines all others, I just love her.
How would you use this character?: she would of course join Shayana in the start of a herd and as a beloved character. It will also be nice to have another Goennec to draw and practise poses and group pictures with so she will get drawn a fair bit.
With her strong personality she’ll probably become a head mate of mine, and a strong one at that, I already feel she’s such a loved presence in my mind there’s no doubt she’ll stay there f I win her.
I would love to RP her too, though I don’t appear to RP much its generally because of the lack of good strong role plays with competent writers, I’d love to join the Goennec rp and I feel like Razz is the kind of character I could easily RP with as I already feel like I know her so well. It would be fun to write with her.
I’d also continue with her story on its own, something I like to do for all my characters once I adopt them is write them a comprehensive background story, they usually end up being huge. I will also be writing little herd stories for fun too, just for myself.
Define your Goennec:
Personality: Raz is a real happy, bubbly character, sassy would be a pretty good way to describe her and she faces everything in life with a cheeky wink and a grin. A firm believer that laughter is the best cure for anything you will rarely find this girl upset.
Not often shy the one thing that does trip her up is when she likes a Ram, her witty playfulness deserts her and she becomes a little tongue tied, tending to babble on without thinking what she’s saying, which is often amusing for those listening to her rather odd trains of thought. Though she thinks this is a huge fault within herself and can feel quite embarrassed about it, the rest of the herd just see it as rather cute and endearing, especially the older more mature members.
Playful minded she is a fan of all the colourful beauty in the world and loves the simple things in life, like watching a butterfly or listening to the wind rustle in the wildflowers. Anything overly structured bores her easily and she prefers to pursue her own interests rather than what others like, she can spend hours staring at a sunset thinking about the world around her and all its joys and sorrows, but ask her to sit and listen to someone talk about anything and she can easily drift into her own thoughts.
She can be a tad absent minded and often drifts off in her own little world, especially if she gets bored. Her train of thought tends to be pretty random and she often comes out with things people wouldn’t expect, though her herd has gotten used to it by now. You could call her a daydreamer and she does enjoy lazing in the sun in her own little world.
Despite being such a happy go lucky dreamy soul Razz is actually very intelligent and highly curious, if she gets a question in her head she doesn’t know the answer too she’ll spend ages puzzling over it, turning solutions to problems in her mind. Razz loves the little mysteries of life and likes to challenge herself with these little problems from time to time. It slightly annoys her that due to her sunny nature other Goennec’s assume she lacks any real intelligence or deeper thought process and figure she’s just a little fluffy minded. It often surprises those around her that Razz is incredibly deep and loved to debate anything you can throw her way
Though it takes an awful lot to draw out Razz does have a temper that can get the better of her, though luckily this manifests itself in strops and sulking more than challenges on the one who has upset her. When feeling really hurt or upset she can throw big strops and tends to skulk on the edges of the herd preferring her own thoughts and company to that of everyone else. The need to stay in the protective company of the herd is the only thing that stops her ambling off on her own and the eventual need for companionship tends to draw her out of her silent sulking within a day, two at the most. She isn’t great at holding grudges.
Though reluctant to fight she’s good at standing up for herself with quick comebacks and sarcastic quips, though she prefers not to hurt anyone else’s feelings so it takes a lot to push her to this point of annoyance.
Likes:
Shayana: As the young doe’s best friend, loyal companion and most trusted companion Shayana is one of Razzy’s favourite things about life. There is nothing better to this girl than relaxing with her friend on a warm sunny day, just talking together. Razz is relaxed and happy around her friend and though sometimes Shayana’s gentle chiding can annoy the doe she knows its all coming from a good place.
Water: or more specifically getting wet. Razz loves the cool feel of water against her skin and loves to swim and play in the nearby stream. The only thing better than swimming in water is playing with it. The excitement of chasing and pouncing the cool water as she splashes and plays is great fun. Then at the end of a busy day what could be better than relaxing by the soothing silver stream listening to the bubble and rush as it slides by. Puddles, streams, lakes or rain, its all good fun for Razzy.
Running: being a rather quick and lean doe and having a playful outlook on life Razz loves to run, it doesn’t matter if she’s running alone or with someone its all great. With everything being a game she loves to chase the wind or race against the kids in the herd.
Snow: what could be more fun than snow? Its fluffy and wet and when you jump in piles of snow it fly’s everywhere! Razzy loves to play in the snow, everything’s more fun when its covered in fluffy wet white stuff. Along side that though the snow makes Razz feel totally mystical and thoughtful, its beautiful and takes her breath away when it blankets the meadow and turns everything sparkly. It makes her smile.
Watching the sun go down: the best parts of the day for Razz are when the sun rises and sets, it’s a time for her to be at peace and reflect on life. It always makes her happy and generally if she’s in a huff about anything sitting and watching the twilight or the dawn break will instantly wipe away any bad feelings.
Butterflies: they’re bright, colourful and they capture Razzy’s attention away from anything else, she loves the striking colours of their wings and they completely fascinate her. Razz loves spring when all the butterflies descend upon the meadow, she often lies in the flowers and watched them with awe for hours.
Dislikes:
Boredom: Razz cannot stand being bored and she gets very fidgety if she is bored for too long, its lucky she‘s such a playful character and finds most things fairly amusing. She’ll do anything she can to amuse herself, from making up games on her own to playing with the kids in the herd and nudging the older members into discussions.
Fog: There is nothing worse to her than not being able to see, especially to Razzy who likes to gaze out across her homeland or watch the stars at night. The fog makes her feel trapped and nervous and she’s often quite jumpy when it rolls in.
Meanness: Razzy does not see any point in anyone being mean to anyone else. Simply she just doesn’t like it and see’s no reason for it. Razz will do anything to avoid saying anything to hurt a herd members feelings and cant understand why others don’t do the same, it doesn’t hurt to be nice to others.
Extreme hear: though she loves warm days in the sun the height of summer is a challenge for Razzy, she dislikes extreme heat and tends to feel sleepy and grumpy on overly hot days, taking cover under shady trees and in her favourite spot in the river.
Wet sand: though dry sand doesn’t bother her much Razz hates wet sand, it sticks to her hooves and paws and makes her coat clumpy. It itches when it dries in her coat too, and she can never seem to rinse it all off herself and get to dry land without more of it attaching itself to her. Its just annoying to her.
History:
The warmth of the sun whispered warmly, fluttering the chocolate strands of the young Goennec’s mane as she lay contentedly by the glistening rush of the river, the blue water seemed to dance playfully past her to destinations unknown, foreign lands full of strange creatures and mystery. Razzy shifted herself slightly, finding a more comfortable position on the sparsely grassed bank, flicking her short tail and yawning a little, grains of the sandy bank under her front paws skittering down towards the water. Smiling playfully she watched the play of light on the water, little bursts of sunfire against the cool blue. Giving up her warm and lazy position as temptation became to much the little doe stood and threw herself off the small bank and into the cool blue waters, a giggle bursting from her muzzle as she did so.
The water rushed through her coat to find her skin making her shiver and gasp, silver blue droplets sparkled in the sun as she splashed about, chasing the sun across the surface to pounce the sparkling drops and laughing happily to herself.
‘What are you doing down there?’ a low amused voice came from atop the short hill that led away from the river and towards the flat grassy herd lands.
Razzy threw herself to a stop blinking tiny droplets of water from her eyelashes, a small smile creeping across her face as she recognised the voice, giving a little kick of her back legs she bounded from the water cantering up the hill in a bouncing zig zag skidding to a halt at the top and shaking herself all over, sending a spray of water at her companion.
‘Razzy!’ she exclaimed in disgust ‘I’m all wet now you silly doe’
‘Soooooorry Shayana’ Razz giggled strutting past the older doe with her head high and a small flick of her bushy tail ‘wont happen again’ she called over her shoulder as she swaggered down towards the herd, a grin on her face.
Shayana had been Razzy’s best friend since the doe could remember, the older female was a calming influence and though often amused by her young friend, didn’t appreciate getting wet, which seemed to happen often.
‘Like I believe that’ Shayana shook her head with a smile and followed the prancing doe down the grassy slope ‘you seem to make a game of soaking me’
‘I cant deny its fun’ she grinned back at her friend, slowing to a walk and enjoying the feel on the sun on her wet coat ‘you came to find me after all’
‘That’s because we’ve got a herd meeting this afternoon, did you forget?’
‘That’s not for ages yet, its only morning!’ Razz shook her head ‘you worry to much’
‘Razz, you’ve missed half of it already’ Shayana rolled her eyes at her young friend knowing she should be more annoyed by the absent minded female but suppressing a laugh instead ‘I snuck off to try and find you’
‘Opps, in that case lets hope no one noticed you or I missing’
The two of them quietly snuck back to the herd, gathered in a small clearing ringed with fluffy trees and bushes to hide them. No one paid them any attention as they joined with the members at the back of the gathering. Razzy sighed with relief pleased they hadn’t been caught for her friends sake, shuffling her feet absent mindedly she wondered what she’d missed, deciding if it was important someone would surely catch her up on it later. The lead Ram was currently talking about the dangers of predators in the area, warning the group to stay together as much as possible and avoid wondering off to far alone. Razz tossed her head slightly in defiance, there was no way she was going to stay with someone constantly, she liked to play alone, though she didn’t mind sticking with Shayana she amended to herself, but still. Her time to herself was too important to miss. With a poorly suppressed sigh she flicked her tail, shifting from hoof to hoof as she half listened to the Ram in front of her, the temptation to drift off in a daydream creeping across her mind. It wasn’t too long before the herd was excused though and started to fan out of the clearing, giving a little skip of excitement Razzy made for the trees at a trot, pleased to be free now and ready to go play again.
‘Razzy!’
“Aw crud” she thought to herself skidding to a stop and lowering her head, this would probably be trouble now. Turning to face the big solid Ram she smiled innocently and waited for him to speak first, she didn’t know what to say to him anyway.
‘You know why I stopped you’ he stated looking her straight in the eye.
‘Because I was late to the meeting?’ she guessed tilting her head sideways slightly, he didn’t seem mad at least.
‘Yes Razzy. You know we only have these meetings for the good of the herd as a whole, everyone needs to be here, its not optional depending on how you feel you know. You’ve been gone half the day and no one had any idea where you were, I know you always wonder back at some point….’
Suppressing an internal sigh Razzy felt her attention starting to drift, she knew the lecture anyway, don’t stray to far from the herd, especially in winter when it was cold and you could get left behind. She always stayed close to the herd anyway and came back before it got dark, she didn’t like being too far from them so they shouldn’t worry. Shaking her head and attempting to focus on the lecture she was being given Razz noticed a small brilliant blue butterfly settle on a flower behind the Rams head, gazing at it with wonder as it gently fluttered beautiful wings Razz almost took an unconscious step forwards. How did they fly on such delicate wings she wondered. Tilting her head slightly she chewed over theories in her mind, perhaps their wings were super strong? Or their body’s super light, they looked so fragile but they must be really quite strong. Furrowing her brow with a frown she resolved to ask Shayana later what she thought….
‘Razzy!’
‘Yes!’ she jumped glancing back to the eyes of the Ram, suddenly realising he had still been talking while she was thinking.
‘Did you listen to any of what I said?’ he demanded frustrated.
‘Of course, don’t go off alone’ she grinned impishly up at him ‘can I go now?’
With a resigned sigh he nodded ‘off you go then’ he watched her turn quickly and allowed himself a brief amused smile.
Razzy having turned and bounded away from him called over her shoulder a quick ‘thank you!’ before dashing between the trees and back across the land, racing the wind across the shimmering expanse of grasses with happy little bucks of enthusiasm. Briefly debating in her head her choice of go back and play in the river or catch up with Shayana, Razz chose to find her friend, having spent the day so far alone it would be nice to speak to someone else for a while.
Crossing the wide meadow she found Shayana in the shade of a huge old oak tree gazing out at the herd with thought filled eyes. Stopping short of the trees shade Razz tipped her head to the side, wondering what was making her friend look so serious. With a tiny flick of her short tail the doe walked forwards quietly, announcing her arrival with a small snort.
‘Oh, hi Razzy’ jumping slightly Shayana blinked and smiled ’sorry, I was miles away there’
‘Its alright, what were you thinking?’ she asked with a grin, not used to catching her always so together friend, she was pleased she had made her jump. It was usually the other way round.
Shayana smiled softly ‘nothing important, I was just considering the fact that the siv is just around the corner, we don’t have long’
‘Oh’ Razzy stood next to her friend, the warm breeze ruffling her fluffy mane and distracting her momentarily from the conversation. Shaking herself back to the present and away from thoughts of watching the scramble that was the year before siv Razz shivered slightly.
‘You’ll be joining in this year wont you?’ Shayana asked lightly, knowing the subject was a sore one.
Letting out a sigh Razz fought the urge to turn her back and storm off, she didn’t want to talk about the siv but she knew Shayana only meant well. Shooting a sideways glace at her friend she nodded softly ‘Yes I guess I will do’
‘You cant hide you know’ the other doe’s voice was soft.
‘I know that’ nodding Razz smiled softly, forcing the temptation to storm off in a strop with Shayana, she knew the older doe was trying to help ‘I just cant talk to rams. Well the ones I like anyway’ feeling herself flush she shook her head.
‘I know. It’ll get better’ Shayana flicked her tail and smiled sideways at Razz ‘besides your such a little cutie how can they resist?’
Laughing the doe shoulder butter her friend ‘don’t be silly!’
Shoving her back gently Shayana laughed, turning to race off down the gentle slope to the river, Razzy rising to the challenge felt happiness bubble in her stomach as she spun and raced after her, stretching out her neck and enjoying the feel of her paws and hooves flying over the soft grassy floor.
Reaching the river Shayana leaped into the swirling blue water, turning to splash Razz as she skidded to a stop on the sandy bank, squealing slightly as the cold water splashed against her hot coat.
‘No fair!’ she yelped with a giggle, diving backwards.
‘My turn to get you soaked first!’ Shayana laughed back, leaping forward to splash the smaller doe again.
With a playful shriek and a giggle Razzy pounced forwards, landing next to her friend and sending up a wave of water, covering them both from horns to hooves. Both of them fell about laughing and splashing, the water glinting in the sun as the two does played enthusiastically.
‘Looks like fun’ a voice rang out with amusement.
Stopping in her tracks and recognising the voice Razz shot Shayana a look before spinning round with a cocky flick of her tail and a toss of her head. Shayana next to her smiled easily and shook drips of water from her coat.
‘Hi Dodge’ Shayana said.
‘Hey, decided it was too hot out?’ he chuckled, raising his head and looking down at them with liquid gold eyes.
Razz felt her jaw drop slightly as the sun shone across his coat, one of the strongest Ram’s in the herd Dodge was amazing, and of course never failed to make Razzy’s intellect desert her.
‘Yeah I mean, its really sunny today and so its hot, I mean of course its hot when the suns out but its really hot for spring when its usually not quite so hot. Later in the year its hotter before the snow comes which is cold and then you don’t need to go in the river because its wet then and you’ll freeze which isn’t good. Everything is all shiny when its frozen did you notice? Like ice, but icy isn’t good, blue is though, you can fall on ice but not on blue, you cant fall on blue cause it’s a colour, not a thing. Good things are blue right? Like the sky and butterflies and some flowers. If you sniff them too close you’ll sneeze’ announcing that Razz stopped in her tracks and lowered her head slightly, water dripping off her coat and making small “plop plop” sounds against the sudden silence. A small laugh escaped her throat and she smiled embarrassed.
Nodding Dodge grinned broadly ‘I see, that’s interesting, very sweet. Have fun girls’ with a wink he turned and left.
Razzy groaned and shut her eyes with a sigh ‘great’
Silence ruled for a moment before Shayana burst out laughing ‘you should see your face!’
‘Oh nice’ Razz snapped feeling suddenly very silly and hot all over ‘sorry I’m so stupid!’
‘Your not stupid’ grinning widely and leaping in front of Razzy, Shayana giggled ‘Dodge thought that was sweet’
‘Yeah well that’s not the aim is it’ rolling her eyes Razz turned away wanting to hide on her own for a bit and not have to deal with anyone else ‘this is why I don’t like the siv’
‘Aw your fine silly’ splashing her friend Shayana laughed again ‘at least he laughed’
‘’Cause I’m stupid’
‘Nope, cause your sweet and funny’ Shayana pounced in front of her friend splashing her again ‘so no strops, your fine’
‘Heh, it was quite funny wasn’t it?’ the playful light in Razzy’s eyes started to gleam again and she jumped forwards towards her friend ‘and he winked!’
‘Exactly, so its all good!’
Grinning once more Razzy bounded out of the river, the shame of her babble fading as quickly as it had come, trotting up the grassy hill with Shayana at her side the slowed at the top to gaze out over the meadow, the sun starting to list in the sky was turning the world from bright to dusky. Sighing happily Razzy smiled, this was the world she loved, and everyday taught her something new, as long as she had Shayana at her side and the sun in the sky Razzy knew she could do anything.
Phew. Just finished in time, I think.
