@Alexander White: Interesting background story of the OC of yours! The design of the tattoo is lovely and the anatomy is spot on as always.

I'm afraid I can't give you a redline as I'm still polishing my skills on drawing humans, however one thing I want to point out is that the clothes on your OC is a bit stiff and flat looking, so try adding clothe details (or "wrinkles" you could say) to give it more depth to it.

He/she looks like an interesting character and reminds me of the samurais in Rurouni Kenshin.


Just a basic sketch of a soon-to-be adoptable I'm planning to do, and will add fur details, shading and clean the messy lines at a later stage. Right now I'm literally stuck with my least favorite enemy; the paws. Can't draw those buggers in different angles, aha.

So any tips/redlines/crits are greatly appreciated, particularly the anatomy and the leg angles. ouo b
And yes, the second leg behind the foreleg is meant to be short in lengthwise, and the small line near the eye is its second eye.

I understand the legs look wonky, but he's supposed to be shivering and trying to stand against the wind.

Well, i was sketching last night 'cause i needed to start using the sketchbook my friend got me, and i came up with this:

I'm super happy with how it turned out, i think ive found my new style <3 It's Nasuada from Inheritance... Any crits are welcomed gladly! But the things i already know about are:
The nose should flow more into the eyebrow. I'm going to be lining this in SAI so i'll fix a bunch of mistakes then :3
The eye should be smaller, so should the eyelashes
I'm going to move the lips up so the chin is bigger and the space between the lips/nose is smaller.
The collar bone goes WAY up.
And i will freely admit that i was too scared to do the other eye XD I wasnt even going to do the hair at first. call it wimpieness, call it being over-dependent, but i feel much more secure with ctrl+z at my back XD So yeah, after my commissions (or before, it depends on how much self-restraint i'm feeling LOL) i'll line it and color it <3

Also, lame circlet design is lame.

@ Benevolent - I'd say he needs more of a back hip, as of now if looks as if there is a joint missing. Otherwise looks great! ^^

Okay, so I am doing a pheonix. I dunno why. It's this FREAKING EPIC music's fault.But anyways, I am looking for any critique before I go on. (It's a WIP) And if anyone has tips on doing fire, that'd be great for when I start that part. Heh, I already finished. xD I'd love to show y'all the finished piece, but it's going to be for an art auction (school fundraiser) in March, and I'd want the *future* owner's permission before I post it on the internet. So yeah...

I'm not very good at lying down poses for canines, so I may be wrong/off in some spots, but--

Your dogs head looks very large, and the legs make very little sense. You made the forearm area way too long on the front legs, and the metatarsal area too long on the hind.
The shoulder line should be more visible, and the arm more forward, rather than tucked back.
For the paws, just look at some tutorials and things-- keep in mind that they can be fairly slender, especially in a pose like this.
I really can't wrap my head around six legs, so I left that out.
The paw under the throat actually looks extremely awkward, and I'd recommend getting rid of it. I can't see a dog's leg bending that way, really. just drew it in my redline since you pit it there. If you must have it though, maybe adjust the angle of the paw.
You need to show all of the dog's hind leg, which will wind up near the back, if you draw the entire slope of the knee. The metatarsal area would be much smaller, and the ankle should be more pronounced.
For the head, the eye needs to be closer to the bridge of the snout, and the ears maybe put in a more natural position. Less of the mouth should be visible, since the jowls would be drooped over quite a bit. I'm actually really bad at canine teeth so don't rely on anything there too much xD -- just try to define there teeth more as canine teeth.
