Okay, so, here goes... I was going to write a poem, but I just can't rhyme to save my life, so I'm just going to write a little short story :3



There, in the faded shadows in the forest, stood a magnificent stag. He seemed to be... waiting for something, someone. The animal stayed, still as the ancient redwoods, for hours. His ears just barely twitched from time to time, his nose emitted large puffs of steam now and then. The icy air was forming icicles on his handsomely colored pelt. His formerly bright, clear eyes were getting duller. He was freezing.

Then, in a rush of wind, a scent came on the breeze. Moving for the first time in over half a day, the stag lifted his weary head to inhale it. His ears perked forward, he shuffled his hoof on the hard ground, the misty breath was coming out quicker now, as if this scent has somehow awakened a statue.

The beast stepped toward the origin of the scent, his hoofsteps getting quicker by the second. Soon, he was in a full-out gallop, racing to the far side of the forest. He ran for near an hour, loosening his sore muscles, tossing his head and snorting. As he reached the end of the woods, he came to the mountains. Though the area around them was mostly flat, it was of high altitude, and if it was cold down here, it was below freezing up there.

And yet, this was where the scent was coming from. He had to follow it - just had to. Even the stag himself couldn't explain the feeling, just that must, or who knew what would happen to him.

He didn't even stop to rest, but started right upwards, his sure-footed legs never failing him as he climbed higher and higher, never once pausing or looking down. After a time so long even he didn't know how much, he stumbled. Even after walking so far, he'd only come half-way up. The stag felt a rush of defeat wave over him. He lay down his massive head of antlers onto the stoney mountainside and closed his eyes, waiting for the blackness of sleep to conquer his exhaustion.

The stag fell asleep.

But he never woke up.

Wow. Sad story, even for me.

Anyways, some background information: The stag had recently lost all he cared about. When he was standing in the forest, he was mourning. The scent that came to him was freedom, hope, and destiny, all mixed into one, very powerful feeling. This stag was supposed to be rather old, and so when he felt the need to climb the mountain, it was his body telling him it was time to move on to a different world. The stag did die at the end, but hopefully he was able to see his family again.

[OH MY GOODNESS!! I fell head over heels in love with this handsome boy <3 Definitely going to whip something special up for him methinks. So this is reserved for my post, and signals that I shall be frantically writing and brainstorming for a while XD]

Romano's ears twitched slightly at the unfamiliar surroundings he suddenly found himself in. Not that he hadn't been prepared for this day but...it all seemed so surreal, and dangerous. He knew that, even now, there were likely deer out there, somewhere in his new realm, that were conspiring against him. And he hadn't even been leader one full sun cycle. The handsome stag let out an irate huff and stamped his hoof, sure this place was lavish and lush, but what Romano really desired was to bring some of that elusive peace back into the Sitka Valley. Since the reign of Lucius Dakcius Darkel, the Lord of this valley seven generations ago, the Sitka realm had been a wretched mess. What with Lucius's disregard for the original law, stating that the leader may have a harem of only five does at maximum, he had required twenty-seven, an unheard of amount. Leaving many healthy young stag's without mates of their own. A tragedy really, many fine bloodlines had ended before they could begin, cut to an untimely death due to the greed of a single leader, a greed he had passed down to his sons who succeeded him. This past moon cycle had been the first rebellion any of the deer could remember, killing the gluttonous Lucius Dakcius Darkel the 5th, in order to hopefully bring back order and prosperity to the valley. And since Romano was descended from one of the ancient kings, not to mention his prestigious place in the herd, he had been chosen as the next leader, though perhaps chosen was the wrong word. The High Council had felt he would be best for this job, what their reasoning was Romano didn't know, but he held onto the hope that perhaps he would be able to fix the mess his predecessors had left as their legacy.

Shukran

Shukran means "Thank you" in my native language.
Why thank you? Because after keeping emotional secrets for more
than a decade, {voices, sadness, other horrors} like ever since I was 5,
I am finally able to tell someone. Not a friend, but a stranger.
I am new to my school so I felt as though maybe I should talk to the counselor there.
I did and its the best decision of my life. A lthough I have not been diagnosed with anything yet I
feel as though it's helping me, that I'll overcome.
I just need to say thank you to the world.
I absolutely love the colors in the deer. So inspiring, I'll write a poem about it/the forest it rules.

The Endless Forest

Idyllic,
The breeze ever so slightly teases the leaves
Creating a shimmer of water on the ground.

Peaceful,
The crab grass peers out of the rich brown soil
Revealing to the sun its vivid baby green hue.

Serene,
The cream-colored trunks of birch trees stand silently in place
Guarding over the precious cargo that it proudly cares for.

Silent,
The crisp flash of the stag’s watchful eye gleams in the light
Standing over his most prized possessions.

Tranquil,
The cool stream licks the sides of the bank
Echoing its beautiful hum throughout the forest.

So the elegant stag guards its entrance
Antlers as unique as the morning light
As only those as masjestic as him
Have the right to pass through
Question him, do you, do you?
He snaps his head back in a direct no
As he prances off carrying with him the world within.

Not Sure if that was clear, but the endless forest was in the deer's soul.
He gives the permission for one to enter his mind.
He won't allow anyone in because he knows that he has risen above and cannot be controlled.
I mean, it's like me. How I have started my long trek to recovery.
The deer is recovered. Like, no one can enter his soul without his permission. Like the voices in my head.
