I know and trust most of the newbie helpers, because I've actually seen them in action (If I could say that) though alot of people who applied started stalking the introductions thread straight after their application.. :S But anyway, they're all great members, especially Atwood, Toady, BlackVulpix and Huskylover :3 only one of the helpers I've never heard of...
Yeah stalking the intro thread straight after applying isnt a good thing, but it does help with your application, and if you intentions are honest and true, then it shouldn't be a problem . . . Who have you never heard of?
P.S. i started saying hi in the intro forum before i applied
Honestly, I never really gave the Introductions board a thought until I saw what Tess said about some people not getting even one reply. I'd always just assumed that, with such a big community, all newbies got big warm welcomes. That's why, from now on, I'm going to be active in that board. I know I'm probably one of those people who you guys say went to "stalk" the introductions, so I just want to say that I didn't do that to help my chances; I figure that, if anything, posting a bunch in that board all of a sudden made me less likely to get the job. I started posting there anyways, though, and I'm going to continue to do so. I don't need the possibility of being chosen for a job to keep me motivated to be helpful. :3
As for our newly-elected Newbie Helpers, I'm quite pleased with who was chosen, especially a few in particular. C:
I was surprised you didn't get the job you know :3 I've seen you many times around the CS thread being helpful, and it's a good thing you'll keep helping. A lot of those who applied and didn't get accepted were bitter/disappointed, I doubt they were doing it to help; just an opportunity to get some kind of "official" status X3
Chryseis: I think the person I'd never heard of joined Nov. 09 and their name had dragonfly in it of something.
