It's fine Lunaestrella, it don't kill them and they can deal with that type of stress, but I wouldn't do it because they can bite you instead, don't be sad because of that, I'm sure you are a good owner, at least I can tell you love and worry about your Hamster and that's great! <3
Blaze<3, well, the responsability still belongs to her parents, as an adult I would never return my Hamster just because my children lost interest in it, in the first place I would never put the responsability in her/him, of course, it's really important to teach the children how to take good care of the animal and having some responsability, but still, it's not their responsability at all, I loved to take care of my first dog, I was a children as well but still, my parents would never let me have the responsability, I loved him and I remember doing a lot of things with him and taking care of him but anything else would be my parents responsability, oh god, how I miss my boy, he was a Boxer...
