(This was taken from a story I've decided to not write any more; it's about a female cat who is mute (can't talk). It took about half an hour to write :3) wrote:I wake up with a start, trembling from my horrible nightmare. After a few seconds, I realize it was just a dream, and I get up from the cold, stone floors of the city and looked around. Typical, they've already left. But the sun hasn't even set yet... I thought, confused. Hmm... Well, they probably just wanted to get a head start and be able to hunt earlier. It is Winter now, after all. Prey's gotta be scarce...
I decide to sit down near the entrance to the alley, knowing there's no point in hunting now; how could a small, mute she-cat find a few cats hunting in this huge, smelly city? But then again, how would I defend our alley from anything if I can't yowl a warning to the few cats left in the alley? As I wonder about what I could be doing right now, a tom walks up behind me.
"Hello." he says, and I nearly jump out of my fur. The tom chuckles as I try to smooth out my ruffled fur, occasionally glaring at him. You know, just because your the leader's son doesn't mean you can do whatever you want! I felt like yelling, but knew it was no use, even if I could talk. "You are one easily scared she-cat, you know that?" he asks, with a bit of a humorous tone to his voice. As I can't speak, I hope he'll take my glaring as an answer to his question. "Ookay" he mutters, half to himself, and walks away.
That brat... I guess there's no point in trying to yell at him, but it doesn't hurt to dream to be able to. I guess... "Hi!" a couple high-pitched voices squeak and I'm caught off-guard again. And this time it's by a couple of kits.
I fall backwards a bit, and then two small kits start jumping all over me for no apparent reason. I felt like screaming at them to get off me, but just shook my head after a few failed attempts. After a couple minutes, I see my older-by-a-few-minutes brother coming into our alleyway, with two she-cats, one whom I've never seen before, and two toms following him. I can recognize all of the cats except for that one she-cat. Who, from over here, looks a bit crazy. I guess she might be from another group of cats, but probably from another quarter of the city... I've never seen any strangers in our territory, except for humans and some dogs and, occasionally, some cats wearing collars and clothing, and everyone knows, except for the youngest kits, that those cats are no harm, just some human pets.
As the two kits start jumping over each other, trying to get to the cats who just returned first, I finally notice the moon is up. [i]The sun must of set a couple minutes ago. I think. As I get up to my paws, a couple other cats start running over me, I don't know why but I'm guessing their mates must of just returned from hunting, I notice one of my paws is twisted in a strange way...
