Why I want this Character: Funny, I wasn't even looking for an adoptable, but on the main page of CS- the little box of threads- I saw the link and couldn't help but see. Ever have those moments where you see an adoptable, or a toy, and images pop into your mind's eye? You see a story unfold like rushing water, you know you couldn't have created the story- 'it must be someone else's, right?' The responsibility after having that bonding moment is high! You feel as though if you don't take what calls to you no one else will be able to appretiate it like you do. But that's not true- what makes this different is that I
know that if I'm not chosen to be this beautiful creations caretaker, someone else will also have a bond with her. The judges here are excellent, and wont take a form lightly. :) Keep up the good work.
Name: Valentine
Age: (dog years) 18
Gender: Female
Personality: Shy/Timid, cheerful, loving, tender-hearted.
History: Please hear her story. Valentine used to live in an old home near the outskirts of the city. She had a family who loved her.
Used to, anyway. Valentine was but a mere shadow, watching her only family tear at each other. The family was poor. She was starved, not mainly in food but in love. The family's hatred for each other grew each day, until finally they decided to split. Valentine had been forgotten, the dog who loved, forced to live in a house of hate.
She stayed in the house that day, not knowing that not one of her family would be returning. Such loyalty is regarded in the highest, but also can bring the lowest of fates.
Later that day two working men arrived. They were here to take the house. The old man had sold it last night when everyone decided to leave this life and move on. Valentine would have protected her home- her family, if she wasn't so broken hearted and hungry. The workers measured the house,
'Do they even know I'm here?' she wondered. The men knocked down a limb of the house, it fell with great force causing debris and dust to scatter. In that moment Valentines instincts kicked in, she jumped up snarling-
'This is our
home!' and attacked the smaller and closest of the two! Her tail was frizzled as she bit into his calf.
The man cursed loudly and screamed for the bigger worker to kill her. The man picked up a beam and smacked her head with it. Blood. Blood on both Valentine and the smaller worker. He kicked her with his good leg and cursed at her. Valentine did not move, the adrenaline had faded and she was famished. An hour later the two workers started eating lunch, the small one had bandages on his leg, she smiled. The smile faded when he waved his sandwich in her face. He taunted her. Valentine closed her eyes. Suddenly, the large one picked her up and threw her outside. Valentine helped but did not move. Later, she forced herself up when the small of baking bread appeared. She fallowed the sent a good ways, and stopped at the window of a bakery. Disregarding all her etiquette, she hopped through the window, knocking over some freshly made bread! The woman, the baker, shrieked and called for animal control. By the time they got to her house Valentine had already cleared the plates. She was taken away to the animal control pound for euthanization in six days.
Art: "I'm so glad that you've decided to adopt a pet from us Luna, we have a lot of newborns come in this spring." The adoption worker told me. She was a simple girl who worked here for four years already.
"Thanks, but I'd like to look around the
whole pound, not the newborns section." I looked down at Cato, my small curly tailed companion. The worker nodded. I carefully studied all the animals we passed, they're auras looked the same, all of them. These animals don't have history, just a future. The pound was set up so that the new ones, or the 'unharmes' were in the front, and in order till the very back, darker sections, the 'harms'. Most likely those were the spayed and neutered ones. The more rare or dangerous pets would end up back there. "Let's go to the very back!" so me and Cato took off running. The worker called out to us, that we should re-consider. I rolled my eyes,
'There all the same, I wonder if she even owns a pet.' The lights dimmed until it was almost sunset, the new auras hit overwhelmed me, green, yellow, darker colors, no blues whatsoever. Unlike the newer pets in the front. Cato shivered. My heart dropped.
'These pets will never get adopted like this.' I searched for my own aura in the mess of loneliness. Cato rubbed my leg.
'How quickly her fate changes.' I thought. "Let's hope the wait is over."
'Cato's aura is pink, but...' RED. It hit me like a bullet, deep red. I ran towards that kennel. I couldn't believe my eyes. I knelled down with my hands on the kennel, "I finally found you," tears filled my eyes, "-my Estire." Valentine finally looked up with sunken eyes.
Other: Estire means 'soul mate', wording that has to do with my story about pets. I'm sure nothing else is needed at this point. (except maybe that a good mate will be in her future ;] Looks at Kennel #33)

EDIT:
I'm sorry, I feel like I'm missing something. I read the rules, but the code drop became a confusion now that I have re-looked. I don't know what the code drop actually does (it doesn't really say).
