Electa woke to the sound of the monkeys screaming. Their howls echoed off the forest walls, making her wince. She had been Here for a monh, and she hated it. She wanted to go back to her home on the plains.

She had been unable to fight When they had taken her. They drugged her, and she only vaguely remembered her theft.

She turned in the treehouse as she heard the sound of voices. She gave a catlike hiss, crouching low to the ground. Her captors laughed.

"Ah, it's too late to fight now." the larger male said.

"Your ours," sneered the smaller male.

The medium sized one, the one who was the boss, sat down. He was very quiet, but was definitely the leader. She turned to him, her eyes wide in a mixture of fear and anger.

"Let me go." she said to him. "If you do, I'll give you money, a home - anything! Just let me get back to my family,"

"Your family is the reason you are here." he said cooly, no emotion showing in his handsome, dark face.

Her family was powerful, to say the least. In fact, they pretty much ruled the plains. She was their only daughter, and was in line to inherit millions of dollars and an entire empire. She had been foolish, ignoring her parents' warnings to be careful. And now she was stuck in this hot, humid forest. She hated this place!

She saw the other two turn away, leaving to hunt. As soon as they left, she saw her chance.

She leaped at the dark male, her lips pulled back from her teeth. She snapped at his throat, but he easily threw her to the ground. She struggled as he rolled her onto her back, pressing her down with his paw. She growled, ring out from underneath him as she kicked his stomach.

She jumped to the window, but was pulled back by him.

She cried out, "Why? Why me? I never did anything to you!"

He looked at her coldly, then stood away from her."You're free to go. Just find your way back." with that he stepped away from the door, and she wales out into the now quiet forest.

Name: Talu
Gender: Female
The sun began to set and Talu still hadn't eaten all day, she felt a breeze ruffle her coat and looked around for a way down. Climbing up the tree before dark probably wasn't her best idea. She sat down on the branch she was perched on and watched as the sun faded from her view, where did the sun go for the night? She wondered flicking her tail from side to side. She yawned and managed to get out of the tree in one piece. She hid herself in a bush and folded her wings drifting into a quiet sleep.
---The next morning---
Talu woke up to the growling in her stomach, she stepped out of the bush and looked around for a bird or something for her to fill her stomach on. She heard a rustle and could have sworn it came from inside the bush she had just been in. She peeked back in but there was nothing. She sighed and walked out to hunt. For the first hour and a half, Talu found nothing. Not even a bird, they were all to high in the sky. Talu heard another rustle, a stupid jackrabbit had been following her the whole time. She killed and and climbed back up the tree and watched the sun set again.

Name: Soledad
Gender: Female

Soledad heard a sound in the distance. What was that? she wondered. She looked up and saw the bright reds and oranges of the sunset. Snap! A twig broke under the weight of some large creature. Soledad collapsed to the ground and tucked her wings in, trying to hide from whatever was out there. She laid silently, barely even breathing, waiting for another noise. Crunch! A leaf crackled, as if someone was stepping on it. Soledad's eyes grew large, she knew that whatever it was, it was moving towards her. One last noise, and I'm running! she thought. Her heartbeat was racing, her muscles were tense. She couldn't figure out what was out there. Crack! This time, the sound was right in next to her ear. She started off running as fast and far as she could. She didn't even take the time to look back at what might be chasing her. Never look back, never ever look back, she remembered her mother telling her when she was just a baby. You look back, and you die. She saw a tall dark tree looming in the distance. As it grew closer she noticed that the branches didn't look sturdy enough to hold a bird, much less a Plainrunner. This is my only chance, she thought to herself. Soledad lept at the tree and sunk in her claws. Her fragile little body shimmied up the tree. Once she reached the top, she finally looked down to see what was after her. Nothing, she sighed. Oh, well. At least I'm safe for now.

Zana

Never Let Your Gard Down

female

Zana loved watching the world go by, laying on her rock. Her eyes lit up with adventure today. So instead of going to her rock, she went to the river. After hours of slpashing in the water, she was thirsty. Benting her head to get a good long drink of crisp, cool water to parch gher dry tonge, a hippo's gaping jaws exploded from the water and snapped stut, not very far from her head. Zana took off. Her tired legs wouldnt take her very far vary fast, so the hippo was right on her tail. She took a leaping bound over a rock pile and escaped the hippo. She learned something that day. Neaver let your gard down.
