Name of creature: Melon. I know its rather simple but believe me when i say i did put some work into my final decision and simple is nicer in my opinion ^.^
Gender: Male
Personality: Melon is sweet but softspoken male, he isnt afraid to take a risk as long as he is the only one put in danger.
Melon is sweet
He is caring Creature who will never hesitate to lend you a paw. He is rather curious about everything but isnt one to judge others by a glance. He will confront most strangers rather wearly but when you've spent more then a day with him he wont question you much. He needs his space like most barons do but he wont bark and snarl to get it. He is much to kind to begin by a growl but starts off curtly and politely the way any gentleman would. He wouldnt be considered a flirt but knows how to crack a good oke without hurting anyones feelings. He can always make you smile and can be playful when given the right time but overall will be there for you once you have befriended him
Melon is softspoken
Melon couldnt be considered shy but is on the quiet side. He wont run up to stranger and begin to babble and until your at a close relation ith him he will speak smostly to answer question for he doesnt ever wish to be a disturbance to anyone. He seems very inocent out i the openalone and tries to keep harm outof his hair by staying away from strangers and loners. He may be one to battle on the ocasion but he wont attack when first meeting you until you pose a threat, even then he will still stay pretty silent about it. His communication comes through body language not words
Melon is Risky.
As long as you arent involved, Melon wont stay on the safe side, this adventurous animal feels tht there is no point in wasting life by being too cautious! He will swim through raging currents and take a dive of a waterfall to prove his bravery. Though he doesnt mind swallowing his pride he loves to go out and have some fun even if it does get a little dangerous. Though he is cool with a risk he will never put you in harms way in fact he will discourage you from participating in dangerous activity. He is okay with hurting himself but when it comes to his friends safety he wnt be afraid to get on the mean side to keep you out of harms way.

History:
Some people believe they have lived to see it all, but you dont know anything until you've lived a day in the eyes of Melon. When his full colors came in, onto his fur he was abandoned because his frustrated parents couldnt stand ll the fruit eating animals that had tried to attack him. He found his way through the word on his own. It all started one morning, just like any other. The curious pups eyes fluttered pen as he was aoken by the loud thumping of his own tail. Panting already he nosed around trying to find the warming companionment of his family. But alas he couldnt find them inside the root den. His tiny head popped out into th early morningice as he smiled, looking around. For moment he considered he might have woken up a bit late and they had already started their hunt. He was instructed that if they were gone already and had started hunting without him then h was to stay in the den and wait for their return. But the sun had just started rising. He was actually early, but he still went back inside and waited patiently like the good pup he was.
Waiting patiently he learned didnt help the situation. For he spent the whole day laying at a slant being proped up by one paw. At times during the long hours he got hungry and began to chew on some leftover herbs , rotting in the corner, they were crunchy but made his stomach churn a bit less. But a storm began to brew late in the morning and it onl got worse as the day progressed. But yet his eyes stayed fixed onto the opening hole as he waited for his family, still holding high hope that they would in fact return for him.
Soon he dozed off but it only lasted for a couple minutes before the soft sound of another creatures pads crunching softly under dead stalks off grass had awoken him. Mother? he thought to himself before slowly poking his head out. Only to come face to face with a lare bear, leaning down onto his haunches, his eyes locked onto Melon and you could tell from him bloodshot eyes and dropping shaggy coat, he too was starving.
Melon just stared his eyes widening a bit but still he countinued to sit. His heart raced as though it would leap right out of his chest, and if hi heart ouldnt move taht quickly then it might just explode inside of him, blowing him into tiny little bits. But even that thought seemed better then his current situation. His first impulse was to leap back into the den as if he would be drowned in his mothers thick fur and relieved of danger, but he was a bite-size snack at that point with no one else to protect him. Though this impulse was better then running so he leaped back in and scooted bak to the farthest corner of the den, pressing his body up against the could icy wall he could hear the snarls of annoyance from the bear as it stuffed its muzzle into the den. It pushed its head in deeper and deeper trying to chomp onto him. He shivered a bit as he could feel the bears hot breath that reeked of his last meal, which was probably a stray coyote.
Luckily the bear was so huge that it would take a couple minutes for him to break through, leaving Melon some time to think. He looked around nervously in panick. He could see a small amount of light filter in and looked up happily. He poked his nose through the hole and smelled the sweet scent of pine and icy tinged air. He pushed his paw through the hole and scooped some dirt out opening it up more, he looked over and felt the skinky bears breath growing warmer. he pushed himself through the hole and looked back as the bears froze and stopped struggling it pulled its head out and growled a bit before leaping after Melon. The young creature lunged away and made a crazed dash away. Mother hadnt ever told me about these creatures he thought. He didnt dare look bak but tried to think, the shaggy thick soil colored brown fur, the large white teeth and curled lips. Its paws huge, bigger then Melons body. Its brown eyes full of dizziness and crazed frustration.
The nireus could smell cool crisp water flowing up ahead and he countinued to run. How he managed to outrun the bear he didnt kno but he managed. As he broke through the brush that countinued to latch to his fur and slow him down. He leaped on impulse into the river. The cold ice water surged through his warm body. He swam through the current that dared to fight him, and tried to push downstream. But theriver was to wide for the bear to try and cross and Melon finally reached the other side of the river. He looked back to see a small brown dot fadin away in the trees. The bear had left, it was gone and had gven up.
Melon lay down panting hard feeling a tear roll down his cheek for at that point he had finally realized his family would never return and had left him. But he didnt give up and let the bear take him, he didnt give up on himself like his family did. He closed his eyes and beganto sleep, out in the open yes but he couldnt stop himself. How could he find the right food? And make sur i was safe to eat? He hadnt been taught right from wrong in foods yet! But his throat was clogged with snowy air and though his fur tried to insulate some heat in, he was dripping wet. He couldt feel his legs let alone move them and somehow all his worries faded away as he closed his eyes.
When he opened his eyes back up in the morning he was alright still. He shook some frost of his coat and wobbled himself up. He fumbled on his first step but didnt give up. He remembered his mother telling his siblings that all the good and safe berries were on the northside of the river and as he took in heavy sigh he realized he would have to cross over again and risk bears. He looked around and sniffed the air to ensure that the bear wasnt anywhere to be found. He plunged down him and started paddling fruitlessly across, the cold almost salty water whirled into his throat and shot up his nose as he battle to stay afloat in a frenzie of flopping and slashing.
When he could feel the mud beneath him he walked up the bank and shook himself off. He lay down for a second but as his stomach churned and began to practically gnaw away at his insides he got up. He shook himself awake a bit and kept walking. He could smell something juicy and sweet permeating though the air. He could see something bright red up ahead, a small sphere, lots of them. He raced over for they looked nice and soft. He pulled some off tasting the sharp berry, it made his paws sticky but he smiled with delight anyway, licking his paws off a bit.
