Well, this isn't my story, it's my friends. I hope it's ok to post it though.

I don't have a way with words as some do, But I'll try.

My friend and his puppy Nettie were going for a walk in the bush, (we live in Africa you see) when suddenly this big black dog jumped out at them, leaping for my friend. He was still quite young, and it must have been terrifying. But Nettie attacked the dog and actually drove it away. Nettie was a Heaven-sent dog, and she was loyal till the end. She died of old age at the beginning of this year, after protecting them for a long time, and we were all very sad when she had to go.

A story about the same family, but this time I come in too.
Their goat had had a baby, and it was only about a day old. I went to sleep over at their house, and that afternoon we went out to a party. We stayed there until it got dark, and then returned. The first thing we did was run to the Goat Pen. We found the young one lying on his side in the cold, his mother standing away to one side, her back to him. We got a bottle of warm milk and hand fed him, and thought he sucked at the bottle, he didn't do anything but lie on the ground, eyes half closed. I covered it with my thick Jersey(Sweater i think some people call it), and we all huddled close to keep it warm in the chill air. TJ(the one who walked with Nettie)(~TJ~ on cs) ran to get more milk, and Pipsie(*Pipsie* on cs) and I sat silently with the goat, both praying to God that he didn't take it, not yet. Our only light was that of a small torch, and we sat and waited for TJ. The mother goat came and sniffed it, snorted softly, and walked away. She wouldn't accept it again.
We named the young goat Champion, for keeping at the bottle and struggling to hold onto life, and Survivor, in optimism that he would make the next day. We sat with him until late when the moon was high in the sky, and then it was getting so cold we thought he wouldn't make it outside. Zuko, Their mother, came with a box, and we lifted the little goat into it gently. While we were carrying the box, it stopped breathing. "No... no...." TJ whispered, and I prayed with all my heart, "Please God, Don't take it yet. For Pipsie's Sake....." For she bonds with an animal so quickly, and this was her goat's baby. Survivor started breathing again, and we hurried into the warmth of the house. Placing the box in the kitchen, we got Hot Water Bottles, and blankets, and covered it up. It drank some more milk, but it wasn't sucking hungrily. It just seemed to be holding onto life, but not wanting it anymore. Pipsie and I sat by it while Soffie(their little sister)(Sophia :-) on here) made us Hot Chocolate. Then she came to sit by us, and we waited for the end, still hoping, but knowing the truth. Late that night, Champion took a last breath, and left us. TJ's schnauzer dog, Lassie, had been lying by the goat the whole time, keeping it warm. We closed the goat's eyes, but Lassie stayed by the small limp body. The next day we went to where the goat lay, and Lassie was still lying there, not eating or drinking, snarling at anything that came near, even Pauly, her mate. TJ and I dug a grave for Champion, and buried him. Lassie stayed by the grave, mourning for her lost "child".
Lassie is a Unique dog. She showed me the true love of a mother for children, even if they are not her own. She is an amazing companion to all, and she took in young Survivor when his mother abandoned him. TJ, Pipsie, and Soffie have the most loving, loyal, trustful companion. We all love her, and though she is "just" a dog, She will always love us.

when i got my tiny little cat oreo, it was love at first sight. we were at a house of a friend from my dads office, and she had 3 kittens she needed to find homes for, as the ASPCA was not taking any kittens at the time(they were over run by strays in the city there). she needed the kittens to be adopted fast, or she would have to find some other solution to deal with the troublesome 3. they already had 7 cats, and decided to take on 1 more if 1 didnt get adopted, and when we came in to choose our 2 from the litter, my heart was immeadately set on the little she cat with startleing green eyes and a little black dot on her nose(it stood out on the rest of her white muzzle) she raced up to me and lept into my arms, purring wildly. i asked my mom if we could take her, and at first she was skeptical about taking 1 male and 1 female, but in the end i knew she loved the little cat as much as i did. we selected another kitten, a (at the time) tiny dark grey tabby with white paws and identical eyes as his sister. their brother, arthur, remains with the other familly and has the exact same markings as are tabby, but with a reddish orange coat. the little he was fearless, but social, and our tabby needed another cat with him. so in the end we had to choose our 2 logicly, as the orange tabby was a definate extrovert. our cats were first ferals, living in a wild patch of forest near Buffalo NY, USA. i like to imagine them living outside like warrior cats, as the strays and ferals there had a definate social order. but then, their mom was killed, and left 5 newborns to fend for themselves. 2 died, and our 2 were the strongest of the litter, so said the caregivers. and i belive it when i see them racing through our house, yowling ang bumping into things. they were ill, had lice, and needed some house training when we finnaly got them home, but in the end they always have been survivors. nw my oreo has only grow a few inches, gained a few pounds, and still is a tiny cat today, but holds her own against her 25-pound muscular brother, named earl, for his attitude of supremeicy over everything and his beautiful pelt, which reminded my mom of the rich earl gray tea that we adore in my house(even though my familly is scottish, polish, and german, we are obssesive tea drinkers). despite being"fixed", havind a surgury to correct her eye(she ran into a table and had a chunk of her cornia gouged out) and various other issues, she is still around for me years after i chose that tiny blck and white kitty at that old house, where we went to get our first pets. she has her moments( like when she meows at me and jumpes on my head at 4am because shes hungry) but i love her any way. she greets me when i get up in the morning and runs to me when i get home from school. she will always be my best friend, even when she jumps on me or tries to kill my goldfish. i still love her.

*Cough* My story would not be as much as of what I learned.. it'll be more like About my Appreciation for my beloved pet Cat.

So this is my Cat - Rudis~
This is a really recent picture.. taken few days ago with my mobile phone camera as a reference for .. something :3

When I was only 1 year old my mom and dad brought home this little soul. Dad received him as a gift from his commander back when he was in the army.
Rudis has always been here with me.
~He would often wait for me to go to sleep, sitting in my bed, so that he could rest next to me or on my back.
~When I would feel down that I would not even want to have him around me he would still try to get my attention. He doesn't give up so easily so up till now each and every time I have given in and allowed him to sleep on my lap or just take him in my hands and cuddle.
~We let him out of the house and a couple of times he has gone missing. At those times I would just run home from school in hopes to see him at our front door to be let in. When getting home and being disappointed that he isn't here I would just lock up in my room to cry. But when again seeing him finally be at home I would not let him go for hours.
He is currently The Most precious Being in my Life.
I don't know what I would do without him, I don't know how I would be now if I never had him.
He has always been the one and only Medicine I need when I would feel despair.

~*~♥~*~♥~*~♥~*~♥~*~♥~*~♥~*~

Currently I am 17 years old.. He is 16.
He has always been with me for all of these years for which I am Very Grateful!!
This small Being I will Never ever in My Life forget!

The Hannah story was beautiful. :')

When I was little my parents split apart. My mother is an emotionally unstable person and although she was granted guardianship of me, she couldn't handle a child at the time since she was finishing up college as well.
And so when I was little, around three or four years old, I flew to stay with my Grandma and Grandpa, from my mom's side, in Central Europe.
It was a difficult shift for me. I had trouble with the new language, I didn't understand people too well. I felt alone and without family, I couldn't talk to my friends or understand them like everybody else. I missed the states. But my grandparents had a smart old dalmatian by the name of Sedrick, who was just a year older than me. He became my guardian, my brother, my friend, the one who understood me, what nobody else in my new home was.
Image
Even now I hear the older townsfolk around here tell me stories about us. We were known as the little girl and the dalmatian, because we would go everywhere together. Any adventure I went on, oftentimes slipping out of the yard and embarking into the wilderness with just the dog, unnoticed, he would come with me. He would huddle in snow forts by my side, cross fallen trees over streams with me, tolerate me tugging his ears and he would always, always lead me home again when I got tired and cold and hungry. We'd happily romp through pastures and forests and fields together for hours. He would lay and listen to me talk, he would seemingly reply with these funny sighs and groans. He taught me what proper family is, what a proper friend is, and most of all he made me feel loved, which every little kid needs.

He died a few years ago, at the age of 14. I haven't met anybody, dog or human, like him since.

SinIxto
You're (very cute) cat looks allot like my cat, Rosie!

My first story is about my deceased long-haired brown tabby, Brazil
Last year in April Brazil escaped outside. Me and my sisters and mom and dad looked EVERY where, but no luck.
We put up lost posters and contacted shelters, but no luck.
We gave up the next month, we never thought we would see her again.
But one cold day in November we were driving by an alley... And there she was, wearing the same bright pink collar she had on when she vanished. We got to be with her till she died April 3thrd... The same day she vanished.
Brazil taught me to never give up hope, and that ghosts do exist, because sometimes if I close the door to my room I hear scratching at the door and the tiny, raspy mew, that belonged to Brazil...

I will add the second story later

This story is about my dog Blackie.
Image
My dad brought him home when I was about 2-3 years old. He was a little black ball of fluff and I ran screaming. As We grew up he became my best friend. Now he wants to be wherever I am, and gets depressed if he doesn't see me everyday. He's the sweetest until you hurt me. Then you're his enemy. He's been there with me through everything. and always comforts me when I'm sad. He's taught me the power of friendship, and I loves him.
