Hi! I'm Tiera, one of the scientists of Tyrain lab.
We are really glad you've decided to volunteer here; we've been rather short on help for a while.
I'll show you around first, then we'll go into detail of the things you can do here.
First up, I'll show you some of the kennels out back.
Tyrain Kennels wrote:The kennels are a sparce area, large enough for each breeder or researcher to have their own miniature 'farm', or enclosure.
Each 'farms' size and quality depends on how the volunteer opts to work for it.
The farms host a small range of species, though only a few are available at the moment.
There isn't much there at the moment, I'm afraid.
Let me explain, here at Tyrain lab we are researching genetics and are working at creating new species.
You are here to help in that goal, by being either a Breeder, Researcher, Scientist or Clerk.
Everyone will gain a kennel, though Breeders and Researchers start with high positions.
Clerks help out at the special store which uses 'Medals', a currency in which we supply you with for helping us. At the store, you can purchase special items for your creatures, both of which we will explain in detail later.
Scientists are special volunteers who are highly regarded, which includes me!~
Anyway, we scientists focus on the genetic side of things and create new species, while breeders, well, breed.
They are key in keeping our experiments going on for generations on end.
Researchers are kind of like apprentice researchers, they know a small amount of genetics and aid breeders in choosing the pairs that will create the best possible litters possible.
... I'll introduce you to someone who will explain the breeds and genetics a bit better, I'm more on the physical side of research.
Superior Scientist wrote:First I'll explain the first species, Kaer.
Kaer
Almost exact to a rat, except has a few extras and such.
They have been genetically engineered to grow wings, horns, pluming tails and quite a lot more.
As they are a new species, they cannot be unnatural colours, so most of the markings are the same as a rat.
... That's the only species.
Ah well, we are working on engineering even more awesome animals for the pleasure of humans!~
Ok, please fill out this form when you are ready to sort things up.
When you sign this, you will receive two random genetic coded Kaer -- a breeding pair.
After these, the only way to recieve more creatures is to purchase them from staff litters, public sales and the 'pound'.
Also, if you are inactive all of your creatures will be sent to the pound, so make sure to look after them often!!

I almost forgot, when you join you start with 50 medals to take care of your creatures.
To get more, you can donate to the lab, sell creatures, be a clerk or a scientist. But for both of those jobs you need to be qualified, okay? Anyay, you can also help breeders if you are a researcher for medals, the price is worked out between the both of you.
To become anything but a breeder, you must go through a training course which costs 40 medals, and takes real time.
In this time I will explain anything you need to know and ho to interpret the genetic codes.
