I'm the baddest baby in the atmosphere.

Akari knew that they had been flying for at least a couple hours, her shoulders were aching for relief, her wings continuedly moving up and down, each stroke taking them an inch further away from the evil lab. Above her, the sky was painted crimson, the light of the setting sun slowly getting weaker and weaker, her wings turning back to white with each passing moment. Soon enough, the moon would be the one ruling the sky and they would be forced to rest.
"Alright guys. How about a pit stop?"
Without waiting for a reply, she changed her direction and dove towards the ground, wind whipping through her hair as she descended faster and faster. Finally, seeing a few sturdy looking trees on the ground, she spread out her wings, wincing when the wind tore through her feathers, but she drifted onto one of the higher branches. In the distance, bright city lights flashed, blue, red, and purple waving back and forth through the sky. Her sensitive ears picked up the sound of distant booming music, thumping in time with the music. Although she couldn't make out the words, she could feel the beat rock through her body.
Watching the others come down, she leaned against the trunk, folding her wings as well as her arms. Her gaze slowly drifted towards the large city once again, their next stop. A place where they could hopefully get food and shelter.

You killed me everyday you were gone.

Naomi kept in sync next to Damian, glancing over at him a few times in worry. He was covered in soot and she was sure she saw some blood, but if could have just been the reflection from the sunset surrounding them. Finally she just kept her gaze ahead, focused on the city in the distance that Akari was leading them towards. From the lab it had looked so close, now it looked similar to endless flying.
Sighing, she shoved the negative thoughts from her head, watching as Akari choose to dive down towards two or three oak trees beneath them. There was a single asphalt road at least a mile away. Human eyes wouldn't be able to spot them in the trees, so it looked as if they were safe and secure as of then.
Her black wings strained with effort as they slowly pulled her down towards the trees, and when she landed they seemed to burn even worse than when she was flying. She picked a branch under Akari, rubbing her shoulders with a frown, trying to get rid of the annoying pain inside them. She watched the city as she did this, swaying to the beat and closing her eyes in enjoyement. That's when it really hit her. She was no longer in a cage. She wasn't listening to arguements between Erasers and White-coats anymore. Instead she was on a tree branch listening to music. If this is what freedom felt like for real, she couldn't wait to bask in it.

I wanna be a billionare, so freakin' bad.

Jason couldn't help but grin and perform a spin as he realized that they were landing. His wings were so tired, he thought they would fall off a few times as they were flying, as well on a few occasions he had slowly began to descend, his eyes drooping, until one of the Flock came down to help him back on track. So far, he had survived, but he was sure another minute would kill him, which is why he was ecstatic.
Practically flopping down on the branch, Jay landed on the second tree near the branches that Ari and Nudge perched on, splaying out his wings and sticking out his tongue like an over-sized dog with wings. He heard a laugh from Nudge and glanced up at Ari who just smirked and rolled her eyes. He watched and waited for the other three of the Flock to choose their spots, afraid to go to sleep without someone making sure he didn't fall off his branch. He had done it before, so he didn't exactly trust himself anymore.
