Carina is a constellation in the southern sky. Its name is Latin for the keel of a ship, and it was formerly part of the larger constellation of Argo Navis (the ship Argo) until that constellation was divided in three.
Carina contains Canopus, the second brightest star in the night sky. It also contains the asterism known as the 'Diamond Cross', which is larger than the Southern Cross (but fainter), and, from the perspective of the southern hemisphere viewer, upside down, the long axes of the two crosses being close to parallel.

Why Would You Like This Character?;
Honestly, I have never worked harder on a form for a character. I loved them and still do but, never this hard. Carina just stuns me; her blanketed coat and metalic black base coat give me shivers, good shivers. What else I love about this girl is that she has almost completely free rein; her preferences are to keep her breed and enjoy and use her. Well for one, I love how her breed is. Spanish Mustangs are extraordinarily beautiful. One of my all time favorite horse breeds; they come in many colors and have a graceful gait. Two, I already enjoy her and have a brillant story unfolding in my head. I really need to get it out now, it's as if Carina set a fire in my mind and a story was born from the ashes. And finally three, I will most defiantly use her.
But back to free. In her picture, she has no mane; so in my drawings I've made it up to represent her (if Ikaaaaaaaaa doesn't mind). A semi-long mane/tail with a braid in each her forelock, mane and tail. Also on her other side; If she was exactly the same on both sides; if I got her I would probably change that. I would only add natural markings and those that just spice up her coat or go with her story. (If you look at my drawings of her you'll see what I'm talking about...

Personality;
Strong
Carina is a hardy little mare, born of generations of mustangs. Her skin is used to the pelting feeling of the pounding rain. Her coat is smooth and glossy in summer time but in winter her pelt grows thick, to take on harsh winter winds and heavy snow falls. But now sea spray splatters her sides as she stands aboard the Champion; a medium sized ship. She can lift heavy objects with her strong shoulders and strong legs. She is also mentally strong; to be a pirate, you have to be. Piracy deals with things that a weak minded person would not be able to handle. She can go throuhg a battle and lose her 1st mate or friend and say "It coulda been worse." So if you ever think Carina is weak minded, think again.
Guarded
This appaloosa is severly guarded only once has she let someone have her heart, unbeknownest to him, and he still has it. Although she wouldn't dream of telling anyone. She knows that one sign of affection could show weakness on her part. So to keep weakness out of the question Carina, guards her emotions. Although she will mostly be polite unless it is someone she most dislikes, then she isn't afraid to be rude.
Stubborn
She is very stubborn, and won't back down from a fight. Carina will dig in her heels, and the thought of moving her or changing her mind is absolutly pointless. She is strong willed and fearless.
