Fear overtook the child as he looked into the gleaming, orange eyes. The horrifying smile and the curl of the ears made the fear grow. The creature seemed to cackle with laughter as the child backed away slowly, inching his way around various pumpkins in his path. The monster didn't seem to even regard that the fruits were there, stepping on them harshly until a path of smashed pumpkins lay in his wake. To tell the truth, the creature never wanted to scare the child, he merely wanted to play. Unfortunately, the amount of crazed joy that he held was too great for the monster to control.
[color=#00BF00]As children, they are usually told many stories that have morels, to keep them out of trouble, and to make sure they behave. When you are a child in this town, you are told of the Leaping Monster. This creature was said to leap among the pumpkin patches, smashing and leaping throughout the night. He is mostly seen around Halloween. Children are told not to enter pumpkin patches, or the Leaping Monster will eat you, and every year one child breaks this crucial rule, and one child always gets frightened.
When I was young, I remember distinctly something strange. I broke the rules, about the pumpkin patch, and I entered it. I cautiously stepped around the pumpkins, moving farther and farther into the heart of the huge patch. Suddenly, I heard a soft sobbing sort of sound. I peeked around a huge pumpkin and saw it. Its eyes sad, and its curled ears lowered. It was whining, I guess you could call it. I felt bad for its sadness, so, despite my fear, I hugged the creature, sharing my care for it. It licked my softly with its long tongue. I smiled, I felt that I had made a difference in this thing's life.
After I comforted the creature, I smiled as I looked into its eyes. It seemed to smile back, as its lips curled into a strangely alluring smile. I giggled as it tickled my face with its tongue as I rolled on the ground. From then on, we became close friends. Every night I would sneak out to the patches to see him, even when the pumpkins weren't growing. During the winter, I don't now where he goes, but I see him every night. I have tamed the beast.

wikipedia wrote:In 2020, humans have been replaced by robots in boxing. Charlie Kenton (Hugh Jackman) is a former boxer who owns such a robot, Ambush, competing in unsanctioned matches and in exhibitions with it. At a rural fair, Ambush is destroyed by Black Thunder, a bull belonging to promoter Ricky (Kevin Durand), when Charlie gets distracted by the cheers of a woman in the stands. Having made a bet that Ambush would win, Charlie now owes Ricky $20,000, which he doesn't pay before leaving.
Charlie is informed his ex-girlfriend has died, and that he must attend a hearing to decide the fate of his preteen son Max (Dakota Goyo). Max's aunt Debra (Hope Davis) and uncle Marvin (James Rebhorn) want full custody, which Charlie gives them in exchange for $100,000, $50,000 of it in advance, on the condition that Charlie take care of Max for three months while the couple are away on a second honeymoon.
Charlie and Max meet with Charlie's childhood friend Bailey Tallet (Evangeline Lilly), who runs the boxing gym of her deceased father, Charlie's old coach. There, Charlie buys a secondhand WRB league robot, the once-famous Noisy Boy, and arranges for it to fight the illegal circuit's champion, Midas, at a venue belonging to his friend Finn (Anthony Mackie). Partly due to his inexperience with Noisy Boy's combinations and partly due to his overconfidence, Charlie ends up losing control of Noisy Boy and Midas destroys it.
Charlie breaks into a junkyard with Max to steal scraps that he can use to put a new robot together. There, Max falls over a ledge, where he is saved from doom after being snagged by a lodged and buried robot arm. After Charlie pulls him back up, Max uncovers the entire robot, called Atom. On Max's insistence, Charlie takes it back to Bailey's gym, where they discover Atom is an obsolete Generation-2 sparring bot built in 2014. Atom has been designed to sustain massive damage, but is unable to deal much damage itself. Partly due to Max's insistence and partly due to Charlie's needing money, the duo takes Atom to fight an unsanctioned outdoor match against a robot called Metro, and Atom wins, earning back some of Charlie's money.
Max later upgrades it to take vocal commands using spare parts from Noisy Boy and Ambush and successfully convinces Charlie to train the robot. Atom's string of subsequent wins and high-speed, human-like maneuvers, which were rarely seen from a robot, attracts the attention of a promoter from the World Robot Boxing league (WRB), who offers Atom a professional fight against a robot called Twin Cities. Atom is almost overwhelmed by the more advanced bot, but Charlie's knowledge of boxing allows him to notice a design flaw in Twin Cities, and Atom emerges victorious. Taking advantage of Atom's subsequent novelty attention, Max challenges WRB champion Zeus, designed by arrogant genius Tak Mashido (Karl Yune) and sponsored by rich Russian Farra Lemcova (Olga Fonda), who had tried to buy the upstart Atom before the match.
As Max and Charlie leave after the Twin Cities fight, Ricky and his men attack them and steal their winnings. Feeling guilty, Charlie returns Max to his aunt and uncle and refuses Max's remaining $50,000 payment, feeling Max will be safer with them, but Bailey convinces him that he can be a better father. Debra allows an apologetic Charlie to take Max out for one last night, to the Zeus-Atom match. Zeus severely damages Atom while also getting injured, a first for Zeus, but Atom refuses to be knocked out. Ricky, who had bet Finn $100,000 that Atom would not last the first round, tries to slip away, but is cornered by Finn and his colleagues. The match continues, with Atom surviving monstrous blows from Zeus while simultaneously landing his own whenever there is an opening. At the end of the second-to-last round of the five-round match, Atom's audio receptors are damaged, and Atom must fight in shadow-boxing mode for the final round, copying Charlie's moves from the aisle. Zeus, now controlled manually by a furious Mashido, rapidly expends its remaining energy trying to overwhelm the defensive Atom, and turns sluggish as a result. Charlie, waiting for this moment, then begins to pummel Zeus, even knocking the seemingly invincible champion down and making it have a system failure for a few seconds, but is not able to land the winning blow before the round ends. The judges declare a winner on split decision, just barely favoring Zeus to the dismay and booing of the audience, but his reputation is tarnished, and Atom has become famous as the "People's Champion".
wikipedia wrote:fierce, warlike. of the two Latin names; acer and marcus, it is a combination of the two. acer meaning fierce, marcus is the name of the roman hero, "A young Roman officer, Marcus Flavius Aquila, is trying to discover the truth about the disappearance of his father's legion in northern britian. Travelling with his ex-slave, Esca, beyond Hadrian's Wall, in disguise as a Greek eye doctor, Aquila finds that a demoralised and mutinous Ninth Legion was annihilated by a great rising of the northern tribes. In part, this disgrace was redeemed by a heroic last stand by a small remnant around the legion's eagle standard. Aquila's hope of seeing the lost legion re-established is dashed, but he is able to bring back the bronze eagle so that it can no longer serve as a symbol of Roman defeat—and thus will no longer be a danger to the frontier's security.
full plot;;
In the year 140 AD, twenty years after the Ninth Legion disappeared in the north of Britain, Marcus Flavius Aquila, a young Roman centurion, arrives in Britain to serve at his first post as a garrison commander. Aquila's father disappeared with the eagle standard of the ill-fated legion, and Aquila hopes to redeem his family's honor by bravely serving in Britain. Shortly afterwards, only Aquila's alertness and decisiveness saves the garrison from being overrun by Celtic tribesmen. He is decorated for his bravery but honorably discharged due to a severe leg injury.
Living at his uncle's estate near Calleva (modern Silchester) in southern Britain, Aquila has to cope with his military career having been cut short and his father's name still being held in disrepute. Heeding rumors that the eagle standard has been seen in the north of Britain, Aquila decides to recover it. Despite the warnings of his uncle and his fellow Romans, who believe that no Roman can survive north of Hadrian's Wall, Aquila travels north into the territory of the Picts, accompanied only by his British slave Esca. Esca, the son of a Brigantes chieftain, detests Rome and what it stands for, but also considers himself bound to his master, who saved his life during an amphitheater show.
After several weeks of traveling through the northern wilderness, Esca and Aquila encounter Guern, one of the survivors of the Ninth Legion, who attributes his survival to the hospitality of the Selgovae tribe. Guern recalls that all but a small number of deserters were killed in an ambush by the northern tribes — including Esca's Brigantes — and that the eagle standard was taken away by the Seal People, the most vicious of the tribes. The two travel further north until they are found by the Seal People. Identifying himself as a chieftain's son fleeing Roman rule and claiming Aquila as his slave, Esca is welcomed by the tribe. After allowing the Seal People to mistreat Aquila, Esca eventually reveals that his actions were a ploy and helps his master to find the eagle. As they retrieve it, they are ambushed by several warriors, including the Seal Prince's father, but Marcus and Esca manage to kill them and escape with the eagle standard. With the aid of the Seal Prince's young son, Esca and Marcus manage to escape the Seal People's village.
The two flee south in an effort to reach Hadrian's Wall, with the Seal People in hot pursuit. Aquila, slowed by his old battle wound, orders Esca to take the eagle back to Roman territory and even grants the reluctant slave his freedom. Freed, Esca still refuses to abandon his friend and instead heads out to look for help. He returns with the survivors of the Ninth legion just as the Seal People catch up with them. The legionaries, wishing to redeem themselves, accept Aquila as their commander and prepare to defend the eagle standard. As an example to those who would betray their people, the Seal Prince kills his young son in front of Esca, Marcus, and the legionaries, then orders his warriors to attack. A battle ensues, in which the Seal Prince and all his warriors are killed, along with most of the Ninth Legion soldiers. After burying the fallen legionaries — including Guern — Aquila, Esca, and the few survivors of the Ninth return to Roman territory, where Aquila delivers the eagle to the astonished governor in Londinium. There is some talk of the Ninth legion being reformed with Aquila as its commander. But when Aquila and Esca wonder what they will do next, Aquila leaves the decision to Esca.
temperment;; changedHis outlook is brutal, not to be second glanced at. Fierce, strong and dominant is what see. He is wild. He's just a big joke when off duty, teasing and gossiping about smaller, weaker tracker. That is when his cocky side comes out. Fear can easily sensed within you. An insult is not taken lightly, he has a sharp tongue ready to snap back. Acerus will almost likely jump at you for something as simple as a stare, and it’s not something that you would like on a regular basis. He is willing to take on any challenge, any task and he will do it. You may think on a first meeting with him he turns out to be your average arrogant jock, but he's not though all the way through. It may be harder to reach, but a soft side is in there, you just have to look deeper into him, he denies it, however. Acerus is quick witted and somewhat intelligent to an extent but combat is his major. Bulky and large, you would hardly like to pick a fight with him. Now when it comes to tracking, he almost completely switches off and focuses on one thing only; tracking. His owner's words are a command, a rule, and he will follow them. One of his greatest desires from others is respect. He will be your great partner if you give him that. He is very intimidating when doing his job, and if anyone gets between it he will throw nasty barks, snarls and growls at you. Acer’s temper, as shown, is short and nasty. You would not like to get caught up with him when he has messed up on a job. It’s like a sudden burst of rage erupting like a storm from within him, and he often dwells on that when he is alone with his thoughts. Though at first glance he may seem an arrogant and rough brute, but he is much more than that, you just have to look deeper. Acerus is a deciving, sly and the natural leader. He tricks many people into thinking or believing in his way, like a fox. Cunning, sly. Acerus gives up at nothing. He doesn't care if it will hurt himself. All Acer cares about is doing the job right. Acerus is mentally and physically strong. If any gossiping, rumours are spread about him, he will be right on your tail. Acer does not, will not, and would not stop at anything to get to the top, he wants to be the best of the best. Acerus is cocky, always wanting to be incharge. He does not, will never, be the runt of anything. He will be the best. Dominance he wants, this is something that his cockiness gives. Arrogance and Cockiness takes up a large amount of his personality, these two main factors leading into many sharp lead offs. No tolerance is something that he has. He does not tolerate anything that is inperfect, he will not tolerate anything or anyone out of line. He wants everything to be perfect and up to his high expectations. No matter what is impossible, Acerus will do it even at all costs. If you ever get ignored by Acerus, he is threatened by you. He will snarl, sharply growl and bark at you if you step near him. He will defeat any challengers to get to the top and recive the best title anyone could want; 'The Leader'. Acer would treat you like dirt otherwise, forcing you around the place like your a nobody. Laughing, spitting, intimidating behaviour are some of the key signs if you are that person, or nobody to Acerus. To himself, he is the greatest, strongest, fastest and the cleverest and of course, the best. However, to others, he is a arrogant jock who nobody wants to be partnered with, but never speaks out with this type of statment, as they are afraid of him and the consiquences on getting in his way.At

ImpressionsAcerus is youthful and spirited, always with a positive attitude used in whatever circumstance this optimistic character is needed in. He loves to be the one to lend a hand and to cheer people up when they are down; it is just his nature. He tends to be-friend anyone who accepts him and enjoys social time with other groups of trackers. Acerus enjoys learning and he enjoys time to work and train with his owner. There is an unconquerable bond between him and Farren, a bond that no-one can separate. She is his partner after all. His cheerful soul is always used in the most difficult times to try and brighten himself or a group up, he encourages people to do well and stays behind them all the way. He wants others to do their best and maybe have a more positive attitude to life. He comforts others when they are down, makes them laugh or even just tries to simply tell them that everything okay. He was once a very positive person, invoking happiness and joy into everything he did, some aspecks of that is still shown to this date, but not many. Acerus never had shown his pain to anyone; just keeping it, saving it inside him. He never wanted to show anyone how much he had bottled up inside of him, he was scared of it, so he did the worst thing one could; hide it away from everything, even an attempt to hide it from himself. All he wanted is to have a happy life, he wanted to prosper in everything.Who

Upon the noise of the same dreaded morning screech Farren awoke. Alarm clock. Again. 9:30 a.m. She slammed her hand on top of the device and it finally stopped. She pulled herself from her drowsiness and slumber and she almost threw herself from bed, falling onto the floor. Farren held her stomach felling the sudden loss of air from within her lungs. "What a brilliant start to the day!" The girl cursed under her breath. Brilliant. Just Brilliant. She wiped her eyes and stammered into the bathroom, looking into the mirror seeing her reflection. Ugh. The teenager turned on the tap and splashed her face full of water that brought her out of her dreamland. She brushed her teeth quickly and pulled on her favourite 'All-saints' white T-shirt and Black denim leggins. Her onyx black hair fell behind her back as she wiped away loose strands of a colour like a raven's wings and but on her black leather jacket. Her look was complete with some 'Police' sunglasses.
A strange sound of the door-bell ringing echoed through the house causing Farren to run down the stairs and answer to whoever was there. Strange. There was no-one there. She looked at both sides of the street, yet saw nothing or no-one close enough by to have been knocking. With a frown, Farren slammed the door to a shut, then peered out of the window to see if the someone had returned. Kids. Stupid Kids. she sighed and shook her head as she walked into the open kitchen. Pulling out a cereal box of Corn Flakes and pouring them into a bowl, she helped herself to break-fast and a brief drink of fresh orange juice. In the reflection of the window she saw a figure move out-side of her house. Stupid. Farren sat down at the kitchen bar, keeping a close look out to see who was lurking around her yard. The casual, everyday note from her 'hard-working' parents had been left on the marble counter, saying the same old thing.
'Gone to work, be back at 8;30. love you'
and always signed by Dad and Mom. Well thats a change. A blue note instead of a yellow. Wow. Picking up the note, she scribbled smiles with the black fountain pen that lay besides it. After the 'you' she wrote a xP, under the 8;30 she wrote xD, before the 'gone' she wrote O.e and above the 'work' she wrote c: . A day's drawing lesson complete.
With a final mouthful of her break-fast and the last sip of her drink, she grabbed her White Paul Frank bag and walked through the living room and opened the door to the fresh morning air. Seeing that her skate-board has been deliberately moved, she kicked in back into space then headed towards the local cafe where she would start he week's education as junior, with the worst known enemy to man. The teacher. Now in Farren's case this boss was... obsessed with the word 'sacked'. He had already fired two people in three days. Stuff these teachers. She wandered along the side-walk slowly with her books in her bag. Stuff this school. As Farren turned to look back on her house, her gaze quickly shifted to a slow moving white Audi A3 with blacked out windows seemingly racing all the other cars down the road.
There were four kids in there in total. You could just see small grey silhouettes from the almost completely black tinted windows. Glad I can't see their ugly faces. She drifted further away from the crowds and the looming buildings of the town. Her head seem to swarm and throb with questions. Her pace began to quick, her walk slowly yet gradually get faster and faster as she tried to escape the many pedestrians. She thought not to cut through down dark alleyways, as a narrow escape would be almost impossible for anyone if there be a dead end and gets caught up with a gang. Farren turned her head over her right hand shoulder, seeing that the car had been almost crashed into another while she had been thinking. The driver was obviously on the phone, the device to his ear and speaking in something that looked like a hushed tone.
Stopping at a busy intersection, Farren smirked faintly while carrying on walking and checking left to right for any oncoming traffic. Farren thought a silly thought, yet it soon changed into; Who are they? Farren glanced at a strange Audi that had been speeding down the road. Probably a kid from the local public school down the road, or someone random stalking another kid. Her pace began to gradually quicken as she could almost hear the school bells ringing and her stuck in detention for the next week, until she broke into some sort of a fast walk. Quicker and Quicker she stepped, care-full not to fall. With one last look behind her to check for any oncoming traffic, she ran. She crossed the road then sprinted into a nearby field, always stepping carefully ahead so she does not fall. She ran quicker than she had even done before, the cross-country practice gave her a fair chance of getting to school on time. On the buffer point between the field and the forest was a small stream, possibly jump-able, but it would take some doing. She knew that she would be safer in here with the winding paths and thin, towering pine trees, and of course that hole, the hole in the ground. A more complex yet quicker route to her private school.
With a run up, Farren leaped further than she had ever done before, yet almost slipped into the stream but managed to clamber up just at the last moment. She cut across another small stream, careful not to lose her balance as she hopped along the stepping stones. Her converse were relatively damp by the time she had skipped down the stream and over a fallen long in her path. It wasn't long before she was close to the school grounds and out of the forest. Flitting around some towering pine trees, Farren almost tripped from a crag escape from a nook in the ground. "Sh**!" She shouted as she 'epically' bailed on the rock, he shoe flipping off. "Lol. I fail" She said, returning to her feet and collecting her shoe, putting it on her foot. "Lol" She whispered again, starting to job he way to the school. A clearing emerged as she entered what was now the official school grounds. She casually walked around the big iron silver gates and into a pleasant looking and smelling garden at the entrance of school, a rather hopefully sign for the day. The weather at least managed to hold back it's rain for know, Farren hoped that the sun would not hide away and it to dampen her spirits.
She slipped into the school reception without being noticed, the lady at the counter clearly with her head tied to the computer screen and oblivious to what the world was doing around her. Quickly, speeding up her pace, she added more books to her collection in her bag. A teacher, a science teacher to be exact, grabbed her arm. He was a young age and a dirty blonde with dazzling blue eyes. Mr. Ebsworth. A guy who had been a few years older than her when at kindergarten. "Farren, I need to show you something" He said, leading her into another hallway eagerly. A smile was planted on his face. Farren smirked at his enthusiastic ways, grinning loudly. "Follow me in here" The scientist asked, his hand slipping down to Farren's hand. It was almost a world full of advanced technology and test-tubes filled her sight. "How much does this cost" Farren asked looking at her old friend. "To be honest, I don't have a clue. It's cool though" He replied, turning on a computer screen. Farren sniggered at his lack of knowledge on his own work splice, but questioned why he had brought her here. The rather plain architecture puzzled her too, it was a private school however, these places were often loaded with money, these were top of the range facilities. All parents love their kids going to a 'special' school. Special alright.
Farren was startled as a machine was turned on with a rather loud thump, her frightened voice rapidly changed into a laugh. "You are an idiot, Beck, you know. You are!" She moaned at him. "Glad I am not anything else!" He replied casually still keying in some letters not the screen. "What is that?' Farren asked, now walking over to the screen. "It's how you get all the things up and running. The boss just told me to bring you into this place and wait for assistance. Me, of all people, needing assistance? I think he was almost completely drunk at the time." He replied softly. "Ouch. That's hard. What did you do? Mess up big time or something?" Farren questioned to her old friend. "No. He just said 'wait for assistance'. It's probably because this is an area that I am not an expert in, but I'm an expert of everything as you know." The scientist said with a rather disappointed tone added to his voice. "Yeah. The expert at everything. You the one who can do a grind on a scooter and crack your head open. Expert I would say" She replied sarcastically. "How did you know it was me?" Beck questioned back with a astonished tone to his voice. "Everyone did; It was all over the school newspaper!" She replied almost laughing her head off. "I never knew anyone read those things. At least I was popular back in the day." Farren laughed at that and was quick to reply to what his friend said. "Notorious, I would say" Beck shook his head with a grin planted on my face. "Know all" He replied.
''Farren, I asked Mr. Heverwaski if i could take you out of school for the last week while your parents are on that business trip, and he said yes if you want to. I've got a studying trip for us" Beck said. "Fine." Farren replied blankly, shaking her head.
---
"Ready. Finally!" Farren said finally shutting her suitcase. She was eager to meet Beck at the Hilton hotel, but since her Mum had took her car, Dad took Mum's and her grandfather took her dad's she was just going to have to walk. Farren was quick to run down stairs and drag her suitcase out of the door. It was light, a she only packed a few things and the bag could easily transform into a rucksack is she pushed in the wheels. She walked outside, down her garden path and down the pavement, quickly stepping with a cheerful spring in each step she took. She drifted closest to the building until she saw a gang of kids from her school. The populars. Farren quickly changed direction while changing her suitcase into a rucksack and flinging it onto her shoulder. One of the lads saw her, and pointed her pointed her out from across the street. Driven from pure panic, she changed direction down a dismal alley-way. Bins, rubbish and puddles scattered the place, but there was no way of escape; it was a dead end. Farren took of her bag and knelt down, seeing two pieces of sharp metal torn with a gap to fit in a small girl. Farr was small, and a girl. Farren slipped through the opening, picking up her bag after her. Farren tensed as she shuffled back towards a table, quickly feeling papers and folders of something that was unknown to her. Silently, she stood up to see many strange dog like creatures, and titles, one more intriguing than the others; Tracker Dog #77 | Available until the 31th of October. That was near, but had already been taken. She wished she was there to see the release of this tracker. Farr heard a door creak, and was blindfolded quickly, and she felt a prick on her shoulder. She didn't remember anything from then on.
----
In blind fury, she lashed out. A man, out of pure disgust, ripped the blind fold off and threw it onto the ground. ‘’There!’’ he muttered under his breath, yet flinched as the sound of an un-expected opening of a door echoed through the claustrophobic corridor. A ghostly figure lurked in the shadows, the shape quickly shattering as the guard shot it in sheer panick. He ran off, dropping his gun as he finally disappeared in the blackness. She did not see anything else from that moment.
----
Farren never got to meet Beck. But that night, she had felt something, un-natural, pharanormal, when the presence of that figure waas near. She felt... the dead?
----
Farren had searched the internet the next day for information, just something, anything, that could put her one step forward in her pharanormal tracker quest. And she found it; an adress for the tracker facility. She headed there in an instant, grabbing her keys and putting on her coat. She was ready to ask some questions as she got there.
....
It was not long before she arrived at a large, attallic silver metal walls, with a huge car-park filled with cars that were most likely ones from scientists working in the facility. Farren found the one thing she was wanting to find today; it was a paranormal tracker.
