Why Would You Like This Character?;
I don't really know why I'm so attracted to this guy. He just looks so tough and ready to brawl (despite the fact he is only about sixty pounds.), and I need more characters like that. Most of my characters are absolute pansies. I need somebody to show 'em what it's like where the grass isn't always green. Plus, he's so unique. Almost every single one of my characters are feline, canine, or equine, and I always feel like I'm no different than everyone else, only caring about species you see daily. But I find him different, unlike any of the characters I've seen.
It was his pirate-like physique that pulled me in first. I absolutely adore anything and everything pirate. Plus, he has an eyepatch. It's nearly impossibly to find an otter with an eyepatch not completely adorable. I didn't immediately decide to go for him, though. I just couldn't think of how to string everything together, how to put him into words. But I continued to check in every day, telling myself I'd search for other adoptions, and end up gazing at him. Over and over and over again. I couldn't help but notice his scars, and that lead me on to the beginnings of a story. After I'd thought it over enough, I couldn't help it. His colors just seem to blend together perfectly, although they seem completely different. His one remaining eye is like a beakon in my mind, leading me through the fog that is writer's block. (I feel all poet-like! xD) He makes me feel poetic, which I rarely feel like. He just really clicks well with me.

"He's just so... Dashing."
"Oh, my goodness, did he just smile at me?!"
"No- It can't be possible... He did not just kiss her paw."
Shiokaze walked through the pathways of town, following close behind the merchant whose ship he'd be traveling on. He relished in the swooning of the girls- Weasels, ferrets, cats, otters alike- and smiled widely. Then, there was one comment that made him stop short:
"Ugh... He's such an arrogant jerk."
Shi stopped and searched the crowd with his neon eyes, scanning each and every person who stood and watched the enw arrivals. Well, he only saw the knees of actual people; it was the animals he watched. Which girl was it that'd made that comment...? He'd make her change her mind, easily. Shiokaze promised himself something similar to this.
And then, he saw her. Tall, slim. Her fur was cream-ish, and her eyes were a color of the valiant sea. And, best: she was an otter, just like Shi. He smiled, ran a paw over his waist to insure that his sword (construccted from wood, but with a point that could do the same damage of a real blade) was still connected to his belt, on sauntered forward. His face was friendly despite the scars that he carried and the eyepatch.
Before he could even uter a word, the female otter snapped, "Take it off. It's annoying me so much." Shiokaze's steps faltered. "Take off... What?" The girl arched an eyebrow. "Don't play stupid with me. Take off the eyepatch." His heart sank. Terrific. Now he'd have to do what he never hoped to do.
"Alright, but the scene that awaits you is gruesome."
"Do it."
Shi shrugged and lifted his eyepatch above his eye, popping it off of his head and slipping it into a pocket on his belt. He blinked the eye the patch'd covered. While he rubbed his paw against the now bare eye, which was perfectly fine and not injured in the least, the female smiled. "Better. Now, you can tell me what you want and go away."
The lass had spunk. Nice.
Shiokaze looked at her, an inch or so taller. "What I want? Well, I'd quite like to be introduced to a stunning lady otter that I laid eyes on, just moments ago,"
The girl smirked. "There's a group back there, just waiting for you to see. Go nuts. Bet she's somewhere in there, trying to stalk you or the like."
Shi smiled. "Oh, but I'm looking at her."
"You are? Well, I'm sorry to tell you, she is not avaliable currently."
Oh, so this was what she wanted to play! Shio could play this game. He certainly could.
"What a shame. May I at least have the pleasure of knowing her name?" The cream otter nodded, obviously supressing a smile. "It's Spindance. Pleasure to meet you...?" Spindance seemed to be waiting for his name.
"Shiokaze. Shikoaze of the Sea."
Oh, the game was afoot!

Just a little fun fact; Shi's eyepatch? Completely and utterly for no use whatsoever. He think it looks "snazzy."

Tarquin the Proud (died 496 BC), last of the seven legendary kings of Rome.

Why this name?; As soon as I saw him I knew he was going to be a cunning, manipulative creature. I began searching for warrior names, and came across this one. I knew that it fit straight away, but decided to research it first. And it fit him perfectly. The fact that it's Greek just makes me love it even more. <3

Why Would You Like This Character?; It was his green eye that caught my attention first. It's so bright, so... Unique, and it was mostly that which gave me the idea for his history. Diomedes is an unusual animal as well. I suppose he could fit well into quite a few species; ferret; weasel etc., but it was otter that screamed out to me from the very first moment. Add on those story-inducing scars, and the eye-patch, and I immediately had it narrowed down to sea otter. Diomedes just screams water. Also, the purple. I don't know how the artist managed to make the colour look almost natural on him, but they achieved it. I'm normally out off but colours that aren't close to the usual colour, but this little fellow seems to have his own set of rules. Everything about him is amazing; perfect; handsome. Diomedes is just wonderful, and I'd love to be the one that won him. I'd love to spoil him. Somehow I don't think he'd like that though. ;D
