A little worried.... It'll be the babies' first night all in the same cage. I don't think anything'll happen, but you never know...

Rats love company, so I bet they will love a Room mate. <3
As for wrestling/fighting, my rats have NEVER been apart from each other. They are from the same litter, never separated. They still wrestle, and it gets out of hand sometimes. I have an extremely small water bottle (its not even bigger then my finger) and I spray them with it if it gets really bad. The mist makes them stop right away. ^^
My rats, when they fight, it sometimes gets really bad. To the point where my rat just recovered from a scratch on his head, making a large bald spot on his head. When a fight like this occurs, I keep an extra careful eye on them for a few days.
Its normal for them to fight, just keep an eye on them for a few weeks and see how they are doing with their friend. :)

Do you laugh about me whenever I leave?
Or do I still need more therapy?

Yeah, my 2yo is doing fine with her 3 month old friends, they're just getting the cage established the way they like. (Pushing the chew house off the edge of a level... e.o)

Yesterday, the 8.10.11 at 10:55am, my beautiful little grey rat Remy passed away from suspected pneumonia. We'd given him his medicine 15 minutes prior and when we returned to his cage he was laying pretty much flat on the bottom floor of his cage, not breathing but still rather warm. Upon getting him out of his cage we came to realise he was gone, his eyes weren't alive and bright like usual. I will always remember my beautiful little cuddly boy, only 2 years old now. I just can't believe it, the very thought that Remy is dead just doesn't sound right. I've cried so much over the past two days. His brother Templeton hasn't noticed his absence yet but has been a bit more reserved that usual in our attempts to cuddle him. He looks so much like his brother it's almost painful to look at him.

May I ask those of you who have dealt with your rats passing away, how have you coped? I'm not holding up at all. We buried him in a comfy bed he often slept in with some well loved treats and planted a rose in his honor. I'm just gutted.

v.v R.I.P. Remy. When my Athena died, we think it's because she had an abdominal tumor. Just remember, he's not suffering anymore. I cried about my girl for three days straight.

bad news peeps. about 2 weeks back i bought a rat from this pet store. they said "we have had him for a while." I thought they meant 2-3 weeks but today i found that he had died. Apparently he was a few years old. RIP gumball.
but i learned back when i had cats that getting attached to animals will only result in heartache. Sure i loved him but now that he is gone i can get new rats or even a different animal. I currently have 2 hooded fancy rats, a cotton tail rabbt, 2 goldfish and a glass lizard. I love them all. I will miss you gumball! I hope you have lots of fun in ratty heaven <3
a pic of gumball when he was still alive and happy: http://i480.photobucket.com/albums/rr16 ... G_8350.jpg

I cried when I had to give my cats away- and they didn't even die.
I'm dreading the day that I'll come home and find my babies lying stiff in their cage. I almost cry just thinking about it.
