Name You'd Choose for It:
.: Daisy Duke :.
Gender:
.: Female :.
Reason You Want It:
Ever since I first saw her, I was in love. She has lovely colours (I adore natural colours) and a simple but pretty design. However, I had a slight overload of characters, so I didn't dare adopt her irresponsibly like that. To fill the gap of wanting her, I made a revamp/fanart, but it just made me want her more. Now, though, I have a few less characters and feel I can take care of her a bit better. I still want her just as much as I did before, and I'm glad I can finally get her without feeling as guilty.

~Story~
Unless it's stated that they are in their quad form, all of the characters are anthros in this story.
I sat impatiently in the middle of my math class. My pen tapped restlessly against the table as I stared at the clock, waiting for it to turn 1:40 and have the bell ring. Then I could leave and go back to my wonderful book, which I had reluctantly left in my locker on Kalibur's suggestion.
Suddenly, my pen was trapped under something. I looked away from the clock to see a hand holding down my writing utensil. The hand was attached to my math partner. He wasn't just my math partner, though. No, we sat beside each other in all our classes, and we had all the same classes, and at the same time. Even our lockers were beside each other. However, this wasn't coincidence. We'd worked for two weeks switching with people and such trying to get the same classes, because he was also my very best friend, and, though I'd never tell him, he was my long-time crush.
"Daisy, calm down. I know you want your book, but class doesn't end for another seven minutes according to the clock, and you still have four questions left. Just get them over with so we can hang out tonight." Kalibur said. He smirked at me and let my pen go, which stayed still.
"I can't focus, Kallie." I complained. "Why'd you make me put my book in my locker?"
"Daisy, you've read that book eleven times already. It's not like you're missing anything."
"I know... but Twilight is such a nice love story, and the fourth one is my favourite. And I've read it thirteen times, actually. This will be fourteen." I thought about Breaking Dawn, the book I was currently re-reading. It wasn't as good as The Hunger Games, but it was still one of my favourites. I adored reading. I liked Twilight, and I'd read all the books at least a ten times each. Some of my other favourite series included Percy Jackson and the Olympians (I'd read them all 8-17 times), Harry Potter (11-14 times), Gregor the Overlander (5-9 times) and my crowned jewel, The Hunger Games (19-28 times). I was re-reading Breaking Dawn because Kalibur refused to let me read The Hunger Games again, and we didn't have English until the next semester.
"I never understood the Twilight fandom." Kalibur said, wrinkling his nose.
"You never understood any reading fandoms. You don't like books enough." I said. He didn't deny it; Kalibur was more of a jock type. He played football, ran track, and his favourite, soccer. Of course, he was also amazing at various forms of martial arts because he's a ninja. Seriously. He works for some company doing ninja stuff. I don't really know much; he's not allowed to tell me anything about it.
"Oh shush. Stop blabbing about your books and finish the math." he said, his tone announcing the end of the conversation. So I sighed, lifted my pencil, and went back to the four questions I had yet to finish.
* * * * *
My nose was stuck in my book and Kalibur was holding my hand, leading me through the halls so I wouldn't have to pay attention to where I was going. I'd insisted on going all the way to my locker to get my book so I could ready it through Geography. He wasn't mad because I was reading when I should've been doing Geography. I'd been doing that in the greater part of my classes, yet I always got amazingly high grades. He was just upset because he thought we'd be late for class.
We made it to Geography on time, just like we always do, and just like I said we would. Kalibur rolled his eyes, obviously annoyed with me and my ability to be right at everything. I stuck my tongue out, smiling, and went back to my book.
As I sat there reading my book, not really paying attention to the time or what was happening. All that mattered to me was Edward, Bella, Jacob, and their complicated relationship.
I wished I was a writer. I would do anything to be a good writer like Stephenie Meyer or J.K. Rowling. Except that I could never think of a good idea for a story, and how was I supposed to write about something if I had nothing to write about?
The next thing I knew, Kalibur was shaking my arm. I looked up at him and blinked once.
"Class is over, Dais. It's time to go home." he said, aware that I had no idea what was going on.
I packed my bag absentmindedly and slung it over my shoulder. I pulled the bow in my hair a bit tighter as I noticed pieces falling out.I noticed Kalibur looking at me out of the corner of my eye, so I looked back.
"What?" I asked.
"Nothing. You just seem... I don't know. Faraway." He explained.
"Oh." I said tonelessly. I realized what he was saying; I did seem a bit faraway, even from myself.
"What's wrong, Daisy?" he asked.
"I... I don't know. I just feel like something is wrong. Like I'm not all there." I explained. It was an odd feeling and I didn't like it one bit.
He bit his lip. "I'm afraid I can't do anything about it. Sorry, Dais."
"It's okay." I said, patting his shoulder. "I'm fine." It was only a half-lie.
We walked home, talking the entire way. I progressively felt better all the way home, and by the time I was there, I was completely well again.
We walked into my living room and I sat down while Kalibur walked to my kitchen and found something for us to eat. He managed to locate a bag of Cheetos, which were poured into a bowl. We ate them as we talked some more, when all of a sudden, the funny feeling came back. Only this time, it brought an odd side-effect. I couldn't grab any Cheetos.
I was confused at why I was having issues grabbing them. It was almost as if my fingers weren't there at all. I looked down at my hand to try and solve the problem, but I ended up letting out a yelp of surprise; my fingers really weren't there! My other hand was also lacking it's fingers, leaving two little stumps as hands at the end of my arms.
It wasn't bloody or gory at all; it was just as if I'd never had fingers to begin with. That almost made it worse.
"My fingers!" I squealed. "They're gone!" Kalibur looked in shock, unable to comprehend what happened to them.
"But.... how can.... fingers don't just.... what?!" he stuttered.
"I don't know!" I squeaked. "I just looked down and they were gone!"
I looked at them again to find that there was no hand at all. I let out another yelp.
"I'm... I'm fading! That's it! I'm just disappearing!" I exclaimed.
"Well no duh, Einstein." He scoffed. "I could've told you that."
"Well, what do we do?" I asked.
"I don't know... but we better do something quick." he said, pointing to my arm. Half of my forearm was now gone. I looked at the rest of me to find that my feet and the end of my tail were also fading.
"Kallie!" I whimpered. I was vanishing, and I was vanishing quickly.
"I... I don't ... I don't know what to do! I want to help, but..." He looked completely lost. So instead, he pulled me up to his body and hugged me. I tried to hug him back, but I only had the elbows up left.
"Kallie.... I don't want to die. Or disappear, or whatever is happening to me..."
"I know, I don't want you to either, but..." he sighed, and I could feel his breath flutter across my ears and through my hair. Tears started rolling down my face, and I could feel Kalibur's dripping onto the top of my head.
We sat there, hugging and crying as I slowly disappeared. After a few minutes, he turned me so that I was facing him, but didn't let go, either. All that was left of me was the torso up, excluding my arms and shoulders.
"I love you, Daisy." he whispered. I blinked in surprise. I never imaged him actually saying that to me.
"Really?"
"Yes, really."
"... I love you, too."
We stared at each other for a moment before both of us subconsciously leaned in for a kiss. We were just about touching when I suddenly shrunk dramatically. At that point, I was just a chest and head, my ears and hair both disappeared as well.
"Kalibur!" I shouted.
"Daisy, please don't leave!"
I could feel my heart, my brain, my soul start to disappear with the rest of me as I faded away for good. I could just barely hear him, and his voice was getting quieter and quieter as he shouted my name. Then, just when I thought I was gone for good, it felt as if I was underwater and pulled out again, because his voice was clear as he yelled my name for the final time.
"Daisy!"
* * * * *
"Daisy!"
I opened my eyes. I blinked several times, trying to comprehend where I was. Shouldn't I be dead? I looked at Kalibur, who was in front of me, hoping he could explain what happened.
"Daisy, you fell asleep halfway through Geography. But class is over now. It's time to go home."
"But..." I started. I'd just faded away! How...
I then realized that the entire thing was a dream. The faraway feeling, the fading, the almost-kiss with Kalibur...
I suddenly stood up and smiled at the boy in front of me. I ruffled his blonde hair, stared at his bright green eyes, and offered him my hand to help him up.
"Come on, Kalibur," I said. "Let's go home. I have a story to write."
I understand that by adopting this creature I take full responsibility for it.
The story is slightly rushed, but I have to go to bed, and I want to get my form in before the code drop. xD
