I raced down the street, long hair flying back behind me, today was the day when I chose my Pokemon partner,
Riolu
"Hey Nix!" A boy called waving from a house, his reddish hair hung in his eyes,
"Hey Jake! Can't stop now! Going to get my first Pokemon! A Riolu!" I called rapidly, not stopping.
I barreled through the door of the Pokemon lab,
"Professor! Professor!" I called turning around to see if I could find anyone,
"The Professor will be with you in a moment, you may choose outside" A young woman said from the desk, indacating a door to her right,
"Thankyou" I said, through the door before anything else could be said. A variety of Pokemon met my eyes, I searched for the blue and black Riolu I dreamed of but I could see none,
"Where is the Riolu?" I asked sticking my head back through the door,
"There is no Riolu" The lady replied with confusion. I closed the door once more and slumped down on the grass, buring my face in my hands. My dream was to be an Aura Guardien and for that I needed a Riolu then Lucario. I didn't know what to do...
Something nudged my cheek and I looked up, hoping the lady at the reception had been wrong but all I saw was a Ponyta looking at me with concerned black eyes, I shook my head and returned to my hands...

As I sat there with the Ponyta ever watching over me, I began to realize that I would catch a Riolu but the Ponyta would be there to help me. I looked up at him once more and found him in the same position, when he saw me watching him he muzzled my chek again, bringing a smile to my lips,
"Partners?"
