Ahzenai you're wooing - Aresann

Woo - [This is a girl named Camrie]
She stood on the tip of her toes. Moving her head back and forth as she tried to see what everyone was talking about. Excitment building up within' her as she then jumped up. Getting a quick glimpse of a large creature with a chocolate pelt unlike any she has seen before. The urge to go forth and see the creature-which she had found out was a new Ahzenia from the others around her- was growing bigger by the moment. Leaping once more into the air as she caught another glimpse of the chocolate pelt. She then heard the voice of Valcyon yell out her name, Aresann. Camrie stopped trying to see over the crowd as a smile appeared on her face. She then looked downward as a slight squeal of happiness escaped from her. Making a few around her turn thier heads and look at her. She payed no attention though. She knew that this Ahzenia was nothing more but special. From Aresann's gleaming chocolate pelt to her mystical name. Camrie was more than determined to see Aresann face to face. She then looked back up at the people around her. With a look of even more determination in her crystal blue eyes she began to push through. Slightly ignoring most of the words that were said to her from everyone around as she pushed most of them slightly out of the way. Finally making it to the front as she stood in awe. Not believing what stood but no more than a few feet from her. Aresann's coat was just how she saw it before, like milk chocolate with markings of the color carmel. Her eyes a fiery yellow that held slight fear but also the need to fight. Without a second thought Camrie quickly sat down on the ground. A smile gleaming on her face as she watched Aresann looking around cautiously. Hearing Aresann's words come from her in broken sentences. Knowing that she wasn't that well in english, but over time Camrie could teach her to get better with her english. Camrie then saw Aresann glance over towards her, she then giving Aresann a friendly wave as she held her head up with her hand. Resting her elbow on her leg.
"Hi Aresann, my names Camrie. It's very nice to meet you, may I say that you have a beautiful coat. Reminds me of chocolate." Camrie said as a small giggle escaped her. The excitment still flowing through her whole body as she shifted around slightly. Knowing that she didn't have mucbh to offer Aresann like a few others did. She didn't care though, she knew that friendship was enough." I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer you Aresann..but if you give me the chance, I would very much love to be your friend." Camrie said softly towards her. Knowing that she was still very scared from the looks of it. Camrie then stayed silent after that, wanting to wait for Aresann to reply back before she began to speak once more.

It was my first trip back to Ahzen since Eithe had decided to come with me. The weeks since that woo had been a mix of exhilarating craziness and exasperation. There was no telling what sort of tricks Eithe would pull on me, whether he would be waiting high up on the roof to swing down and scare me, or whether he would decide that it would be appropriate to play keep-away with my shoe thirty minutes before I had to be somewhere. But despite all the trouble he’s caused, I love him to death, and every moment of play is a moment to treasure.

That’s why I was having mixed feelings about coming back here. Did I really want another Ahz companion? Wasn’t it good enough to just have the one I had now?

Strangely enough, Eithe himself was not sharing in my confusion. He stood calmly by my side as Valcyon introduced us to the new part of Ahzen. It was the first time he had ever been completely composed; his eyes were almost half-shut, and his tail swished lazily, yet I could feel an energy radiating from him. It was different from his normal ready-to-go, need-to-run energy. He seemed excited.

“Are you sure you’re ok with us going here?” I asked him for the umpteenth time.

He snorted and looked up at me. “How many times do ah have teh tell yah ‘yes’?” he said, letting the “yes" drip out of his mouth condescendingly.

“Allright, allright, no need to get snippy,” I said with a laugh, bumping him with my hip. He bumped me back, almost sending me sprawling into the person next to me.

As we watched, the vortex convulsed violently. Everyone in the cave stopped their conversations almost instantly, throwing the place into a silence full of anticipation. This was the first Ahz of the Matter Cycle.

Suddenly an Ahzenai burst from the vortex in a flurry of color. She looked around wildly, her eyes darting in every direction and the fur on her back standing on end. With a leap to the side, she darted up and tree and disappeared among the branches.

“Arseann,” called Valcyon.

The crowd stayed silent and unmoving. Everyone could feel this Ahz’s terror.

"Me no... know..." came a voice from the tree. "What do... but hope... some creature help."

I drew in a breath, my stomach twisting. I was used to Ahzenai coming out of the vortex like they owned the world. This one seemed petrified.

“Eithe, maybe we should go,” I said, not taking my eyes off of the tree. “She probably doesn’t want us all ganging up on her.”

I turned to see what Eithe thought of what I just said, but he wasn’t there. At first I panicked, thinking some Ahzenai-thief had made away with him, but then a flurry of familiar color caught my eye over by Arseann's tree. My heart pounding, I ran over to it, just in time to see Eithe’s colorful tail whip up and disappear into the leaves.

“Eithe,” I hissed, trying not to scare Arseann. “Eithe!”

He couldn’t hear me, or else he was ignoring me. I sighed and propped myself against the trunk, my hands pressed into the bark. I could only wait to see what came of this. Every muscle in my stomach was clenched, both for Eithe and for Arseann.

“Do yah mind if ah join yah?” I heard Eithe’s distinctive voice speak softly from somewhere above me. There was a brief rustle of leaves, which, since I couldn’t see what was happening, could mean anything.

“Nice place tah play hide,” came his voice again, after a moment’s silence. Typical Eithe, always looking to play.

Again, a rustle of leaves. The braches dipped and creaked above me, and leaves rained down onto my shoulders. Someone up there was moving around.

The branches stopped shaking and all grew silent above me again. I listened, straining to hear, fearful that they would fight.

“Arseann.”

It came out of nowhere. Just her name.

I began to maneuver around the trunk, trying to get a glimpse of the Ahzenai through the leaves and branches. I spotted a flash of color, right above me. Taking great care not to make much noise, I began to gingerly pull myself up the tree, making sure to grab only the thickest branches. When I was about five feet up, I stopped and looked around.

Eithe had worked his way onto a large branch right next to where Arseann crouched. He was just sitting there, letting his tail hang down next to her flank, almost touching her side.

“Arseann,” he said again, calmly looking in her direction without staring.

He flicked his tail, letting the wind carry his scent and his words to her, letting her get to know him in her own way. I was amazed at his patience. I was seeing a different Eithe.

They stayed like that for a while, each on their own branch, each just sitting quietly. Then, finally, Eithe moved to stand.

I quickly dropped to the ground, trying to leave while making as little noise as possible. I stepped back from under the tree just as Eithe made his way to the ground. His face was calm, his breathing even.

We walked away from the tree and back into the crowd. I watched Eithe as we walked, feeling his energy, which had changed yet again into something I couldn’t quite explain. We walked quietly for a moment, letting the calmness slowly work its way through us.

“Ah hope she would lahk to come play with us,” he said at last.

I laughed, a grin working its way across my face.

Good old Eithe.

I sat on a rock, marveling at the new Ahzen. "It's gorgeous," I murmured. "I'm excited to see the new Ahzenai here."
Vimocidas nodded. "I hope we can actually do a successful woo here." he said. "We haven't been so fortunate lately."
"No," I agreed. "But that's okay. I'm sure we'll have another chance in due time."
"But of course," Vimocidas nodded in agreement. "We will definitely find another companion here."
Tasu shrugged. "We can hope," she said.
"Oh, come on, Tasu," I said, poking her with my foot. "You shouldn't be a downer."
Tasu inched away and sat down again, looking interestedly at the vortex. "Look," she said. "It's changing."
Vimocidas and I looked up curiously. "So it is," I said. "Let's see what kind of Ahzenai comes out."
The three of us watched the vortex as it swirled around in shades of brown. As we watched, small streaks of a light orange-brown began to swirl around too. The vortex flashed copper, and an Ahzenai emerged gracefully from the vortex. Her fur was a dark brown with soft copper swirls in it.
Her fur was fluffed out, and her eyes wide, scanning the people and Ahzenai around her. She crouched down and curled her tail around her feet. She spotted Valcyon, and jumped to her paws, running down a sandy stretch, sand flying up behind her. She narrowly avoided crashing into an unsuspecting person, only stopping abruptly just before. She looked around, terrified. Her matter element swirled nervously above her. She climbed up a nearby tree, and sat carefully on one of the branches.
"Aresann!" Valcyon called.
"Was that a hint of sympathy?" Tasu whispered.
"I think so," Vimocidas replied.
I watched Aresann on the branch. She curled her tail around it, and focused her eyes on the crowd.
"Me no... know..." She said awkwardly, "What do... but hope... some creature help."
"Poor thing," Vimocidas whispered. "I wish we could help."
"Perhaps we can," I said gently. "Shall we see?" I stood up and began to walk towards Aresann.
I looked up into her tree and smiled. "Hello, Aresann. I hope you can understand me, if only a little." Just from looking at her, I could tell that Aresann would not do well inside, and she would need a place to run around in. I could see she had a good heart, and I hoped that we could win her over.
Vimocidas came up with a clump of grass in his mouth, and he reached up to place it near Aresann.
"What was that?" I asked.
"A clump of grass," he replied. "It was meant to show Aresann what it is like outside in the world, and what we can offer her." He nodded at me. "Tessa," he said. Pointing at himself with a paw, he said, "Vimocidas." Finally, he motioned towards Tasu with his tail, saying "Tasu." He looked at the clump of grass. "Home," he said. He motioned towards all of us, saying "Happy....come......with us." He looked up at Aresann, and gave her a meaningful look.
Tasu and I exchanged a curious glance, but we trusted Vimocidas' methods, and we knew he knew what he was doing. He nodded one last time to his fellow Ahzenai, saying "Good luck."
He padded away, and Tasu and I both waved to the Ahzenai, finally breaking away and following Vimocidas.
"Good job," I said. "I hope that worked."

AhnenRah woos Aresann

The new vortex had been silent, but it sputtered a bit and began to dance soon after the newcomers arrived. It swirled and twisted, showing off a rampant display, almost as if it too was celebrating the move of Ahzen. As it swirled, a rich shade of brown began to fill in, almost like the color of hot cocoa. Soon, thin streaks of lighter, orange-brown snaked into the soil-brown color, curling and coiling in the swirl. The vortex flashed copper once, then an Ahzenai leaped extravagantly from the twister. Her fur was dark brown with elegant swirls of copper in them. She has moose-like, curled horns and shining, wild eyes. As the vortex began to settle, the Ahzenai grew hyper, all of her senses on overload.

The new ahzenai's fur was fluffed out, her copper eyes shooting from person to person, from ahzenai to ahzenai. She noticed she was surrounded by water and crouched down defensively, her tail curled around her feet. Glancing up, she noticed Valcyon. He gave her a rather sympathetic look and indicated to the path that led up to the vortex. Jumping to her paws, she rocketed down the stretch, kicking up a trail of sand behind her. Nearly running into a person, she skidded to a terrified halt and looked around at all of the people. Her heart hammered in her chest, her element swirling nervously above her back. Lashing her tail, she looked for an escape. The ahzenai noticed a tree nearby and clambered up it, with squirrel-like grace. Huddling on one of the branches, her eyes surveyed the area around her like a watchful lion. She didn't know what was going on or where she was.

"Aresann!" Valcyon called, a hint of sympathy in his voice.

Aresann curled her bushy tail around the branch and allowed her muzzle to rest on the rough bark, a copper eye focused watchfully on the crowd. Aresann was rather feral, but she had a good heart. She needed someone who would be patient with her as she learned the ways of society, but also who had a lot of tenacity to put up with her boundless energy. This ahzenai was well-adapted to the outdoors, so she would not put up with being stuck inside.

"Me no... know..." Aresann began awkwardly, "What do... but hope... some creature help." she spoke in broken English.

Note: Aresann cannot speak in full english. :B

Bast admired the beautiful ahzenai, but turned to AhnenRah with regret in her eyes.
"She is perfect, but we don't have time to teach her things every other Ahzenai is born knowing."

"NO!" Rah's eyes never left Aresann. "I will woo her. She is perfect, and I will travel with her. She is the most flawless creation I have seen, and the purest. She was created in a pure vortex, and she is perfect." All of Rah's usual eloquence was gone; his voice was quiet and intense. His raw words were such a contrast to his natural flamboyance that Bast knew he was utterly sincere.

Bast stared at him. The compassion in his eyes was the complete opposite of his usual self-centered focus, and the energy that he watched Aresann with was humbling.

"Yes," said Bast slowly "I suppose we will woo Aresann."

"I will woo Aresann. She is perfect, and I want to speak to her. But how do I?" he asked, his voice strained as he thought. Bast sat down next to him.

"It is alright Rah, we will go when you are ready."

"I'm ready now"
Rah stood and walked to the tree Aresann was now perched in, high above the heads of her suitors.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Rah stopped at the base of the tree and looked up. Usually Rah scorned tree climbing, but that was where his perfect Aersann was. He took a leap and started up to the branch where she was crouched. Bast watched below as Rah sat, and then laid down carefully so as not to frighten Aresann, and to put her at ease.

Up in the tree, Rah gazed at Aresann's copper eyes and spinning element. She was clearly upset and confused, and all of Rah's knight in shining armour habits were coming out. He softly told her in a slow calming voice, "My name is AhnenRah. I think you are beautiful. I would like to teach you, help you. I know you are intelligent, smart. You are pure and wonderful because you are the first Ahzenai to be born from this vortex. But it also makes things hard for you because you don't have all that former knowledge. I'll be your knowledge, your memory, your teacher." Rah's eyes shone at her with compassion and understanding. His being felt locked to hers, and he felt as though she could have understood him without words. Rah placed a small, but sharp dagger in front of Aresann. "It's a wonderful world out there, but sharp things are always good to have." He hoped she would get that he wanted to take care of her and protect her from all troubles. He hoped she would understand the dagger was a promise as well as a gift. A promise to teach, protect, and learn from. Because unlike most of the others in the cave, Rah understood that Aresann had unique things to teach others as well as learn.

"I will wait for your decision" said Rah, and he dissapeared down the tree.

While I was sleeping I was awakened by the sound of Starlight yelling. "Starlight! What's up with you?" I asked sweetly. "Well.." Starlight said "I miss ahzen I want a friend so that we could talk about ahzen and g back with each other.." She sighed "It's not that I don't like being with you your awesome! But, I would really like another friend with me from ahzen" she sobbed. "Don't worry Starlight I will get a friend." I winked. We walked down to ahzen and could not believe our eyes! The vortex was changing colors from a dark brown light brown it was perfect because this was just what Starlight was looking for! Starlight's mouth dropped into a gasp as she ran to the vortex!

"Aresann!" Valcyon called, a hint of sympathy in his voice. I could sense that Starlight wanted to scream but she didn't want to be impolite. We waited our turn until Aresann was ready. "Hello, I am NightWhispers" Starlight pushed in "Oh how could I forget, this is Starlight" Starlight look Aresann in the eyes and blushed. "Well I hear you love to be outside so does starlight!" I looked over at Starlight and knew she really wanted to talk to him alone. "Well I have to go get something back at home Starlight you can stay and talk to Aresan." I winked over at Starlight and hit in a little opening within the cave.

She giggled. "So.. I heard that you like to be outside alot me too! I love gazing at the stars at night it would be great to have another ahzenai in the house to play with" she smiled and looked around until she spotted me and then turned around back to him. "I also heard that you don't speak full English I could help you with that!" Starlightcontinued talking "I can sense that you will need help with alot of things and I could also help you with that because you know.. we're both ahzenai!" She laughed "I know I getting boring I'm sorry." "Well what do you say? Want to join me and Night?"
