Dislikes: sharks and fire scare her she also doesn't really like the color red
History/Background: she was born a stray dog in New York and she had a lot of good friends but one day her best friend got kidnapped by the dog catchers Keira swore one day she would find her so she started looking she walked all the way from N.Y. to Idaho in only 1 month she also got rides by sneaking on buses or trans she was starving she found water from puddles and little children who felt bad for her. She still never found her friend but continues to look for her.

Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?:

Well, NaNoWriMo is coming up, and I plan to enter this year with a novel I will write called 'Krov Rozlyvu' It's Russian for 'Blood Spill'. I'm working on obtaining characters for this novel. It takes place in the abandoned town of Chernobyl, in the Ukraine. If anyone knows anything about Cherynobl they would know 25 years ago [I think] a radiation disaster happened there, and it was evacuated. Only tour groups have been there since then.
It is now overpopulated with dogs, and the dogs are holding a contest for breeding rights, as they did exactly 17 years ago. Some of these dogs have been affected by the radiation and have mutated and gained special abilities. The tournament will be life or death, and only the winners can mate [more than likely the losers will die]. I thought Yuri [Larry] would make a perfect competitor.
Now as for what I would do for him... Like you mean what I will do with it? Well, I'm going to make a thread/or website whichever I feel like doing for the dogs of Krov Rozylvu, and he will be put in my novel. I hope this is what you meant by this ^_^;
Personality:
One thing is for sure; He is nowhere near the nicest dog around, but where he comes from that is completely normal. Yuri isn't soft at all. He wasn't raised that way. There are a few aspects of his personality I should point out though;

He'll make you cry, because of something he said, and he will not feel bad for it at all. You could tell him your horrible sob story of how a human gutted your family for fur and he would be like, 'Yeah, so what else is new?" He is cold hearted.
✖Unreliable/Does What is Convenient✖
Yuri isn't one to be relied on. He does what he thinks is right for him. He could care less about you. He might do something you ask him to do, and then again he might just ignore you and leave you to take care of it yourself. If it's easier to do, he'll do it.
✖Hard-Working/Focused✖
Many things can be said about Yuri, but him being lazy isn't one of them. He gets things done right as it happens to cross his mind. He will work hard for something he wants, though he isn't always successful. He tries, unlike many other of the lazier dogs in the city. It is also very hard for him to get distracted.
✖Thrifty✖
He uses only what is needed, and saves his food. He is tight 'walleted' and will only hunt if he is very hungry. He prefers to use his energy for fighting off those who invade his 'territory.' He has large stamina though refuses to run after foes, for he really doesn't care, as long as they are not on his territory.
✖Impolite✖
He uses vulgarity more often than it is needed. He doesn't care about saying please or thank you. It's a waste of breath to him. He finds being 'polite' very hard, even though he was taught manners, he doesn't like to use them because his parents were so strict about them.

History/Background:


Birth to Adulthood

Yuri was born to a rather odd family, on the very outskirts of town. They were of German descent, and heavily superstitious, and followed all traditions strictly. Another odd thing was that in Yuri's family lineage, his family was known for their high pain tolerance. Children in his family were taught to tolerate pain at a young age. The father was the one to teach this while the mother was left at home. Only one pup was kept and the others were killed. The father wasn't allowed to touch his pup until it became three months old.

On his six month mark of Yuri's life, his training was started. Yuri's father chucked stones at him until he was bleeding badly and crying. "You aren't trying hard enough, Herr Yuri." His father spoke sternly. "Herr Friedrich, it is hard." Yuri spoke to his father in the formal tone used by Germans. His father smiled, and said "You'll get it eventually." Yuri smiled and yipped happily.

Yuri was taught all of the family superstitions such as never walk between two old women, if you look into a dog's home on Monday he will beat his mate, and so on. Yuri finally got into the habit of not feeling the pain dealt by his father, and his father slowly became Yuri's beloved hero. Yuri honored his father with the utmost respect. Even after he killed his mother for bearing another dog's pups.

Yuri's family was ruthless, and his great grand father was one of the original winners of the original 'Tournament of Chernobyl.' Yuri didn't mind though, and even though much tragedy happened, Yuri's life until adolescence was NOT a 'sob story.' He actually had the best childhood for his lineage.

Another Day, when Yuri was nearly a year old, his father was attacked and Yuri fought the dog like a caged rabid raccoon, and killed the attacker. His ear was mangled in the process, but Yuri didn't care. His father actually told him he was proud of him after that. His father told Yuri that he had a knack for fighting, and should try his best to perfect that ability, and since Yuri loved his father so much; he did as his father said.

Adulthood

Once Yuri was cast out into the world by his father, he immediately found his home in Chernobyl, to be exact he found his home in The Snake's Scale.

Yuri pounced on him, but the large male fought back. After what seemed like hours of vigorous fighting Yuri won, but not without the loss of his eye. The Snake's Scale doctor fixed him so he wouldn't bleed to death, but he couldn't keep the eye.

A few months later when he was out with a girl, and the clumsy female caused an ax to fall on Yuri's leg. Killing herself and cutting Yuri's leg off. He was once again patched up by the doctor, but in exactly three days he was doing his job again.

Some might say Yuri's life is a sob story, however Yuri likes to speak of it as the greatest story ever told. Yuri doesn't think his life was sad or worth being given sympathy. He finds it normal because he never knew any better. A few days ago, Yuri was drafted into the tournament. This is where the story begins.

Also Some people may wonder; How is music in a no-electricity town? Well, In the snakes scale there is a battery powered old timey radio, which the dogs replace it's batteries. [No idea how but if you give me time I'm sure I could think of a way they do it.]

Phew, just finished up my art last night and added in the last bit of the history. I can go to work feeling comfortable that I've finished. :D
