Question.. Are other creatures allowed to try and woo her, or is it Ahzenai and humans only?

I sat on a large, stone rock. Sadness swept over me, as I watched Bleu paw the ground anxiously. "Bleu, your making me depressed. Be your normal self!" I cried. She looked at me and whimpered. All these woos... All these attepmts at companionship... All failed. Bleu knew it, I knew it, and it seemed like these moments were as cold as ice. I picked at my fingernail boredly, which was covered in cinnamon-scented ginger polish. I strained my eyes to get a glimpse at the new Ahzenai, who reminded me of caramel rolls. Mmmm.... Rolls. Yummy! I got up and made my way towards the cave.

Something that smells nice? Hmm... tricky. Bleu was sitting by the rock, whimpering and covering her face in her paws. "Bleu! C'mon, girl. We're going flower hunting..." I put my hands on my hips, and waited for my dog to come. "Heeeeerrrrreeeeeee giiiirrrrrlllll...." I coaxed in a whisper. She got up slowly, and dragged herself over to me, confused why I was making her get up. "You are so stubborn, ya know?" I rolled my eyes, then began walking away from the Ahzen Vortex.

I knew a good field where thousands of flowers grew. Over many fields and acres, which extended far and wide. I had bare feet, which went deep into the plush earth beneath me. The wet dirt squeezed through my toes, and the misty scent flooded into my nose. "Isn't this beautiful, Bleu?" I asked, knowing she wouldn't react. I stroked her back, and she looked at me with her shiny blue eyes.

"We might get lucky this time, girl." I smiled. The dew in the tall grass soaked into my capris, but I didn't care. We walked solemnly up a short, round, hill, and when we reached the top, I saw it. Bleu saw it, too. Acres beyond acres of cream flowers. The vanilla scent reached beyond imagine, and it made my mouth water. 'THis HAS to impress Quida!" I yelled, and it echoed through the vanilla-flowered valley. We were atop the hill, looking down apon the field which seemed to stretch passed the horizon. I ran down the hill, Bleu tight on my heels, we reached the field, and the beautiful flowers whisked passed me as I ran, as carefree as ever.

"I'll win you over, Quida!" I yelled again, and then I leaped. The wind seemed to carry me, and my hands cupped the air. I landed with a POOSH into the flowers, and many other them shot out aside me. I laughed, and began making flower-angels. The vanilla scent whaffted around me, and it took every drop of sadness or anger from me. The moment was undescribable past this. I got up, and looked at Bleu. She was rolling playfully in the flowers, her long pink tongue hanging loosely out of her mouth.

I bent down, scooping up as much flowers as my arms could handle. Bleu could tell what I was doing, and she grabbed a single flower in her jaws. Her eyes scanned me, eager to impress the Ahzenai creature who Bleu was certain we'd win over.

We made our way back to Quida.

On my way back, many little white petals fell down behind me, and Bleu sniffed every one. She looked at me, confused, then zipped back to my side, her gift to Quida held firmly in her jaws.

We walked a little ways, but it seemed like endless hours. We stopped by a river and dunked the ends of the flowerstems in it, just so that they could be refresh and look pretty for Quida. Then, we saw the cave. Quida was standing around, and I couldn't quite tell whether she was enjoying the suitors, or hating them. But Bleu wet from walk to trot. Then from trot to run. Then from run to race, until she was about a foot from Quida, stuck amonsgt the crowd. I quickened my own pace, then pushed a couple people aside.

"Hey! What's your problem?!" one barked at me. I just stared and pushed through once more. I waited behind her, waited for suitors to leave. Bleu was getting very impatient. She nudged me and whimpered since she was so anxious to give Quida her flower. Finally, most of the crowd left. Bleu padded up to the Ahzenai, but I called her back. Even just a few people weren't that bad, but it wasn't good enough for me.

Eventually, I'd fallen asleep. I dreamt of going to Africa with Quida and Bleu. But then a crowd of suitors came bursting out of trees. They swarmed Quida, pulling on her and giving her delicious-smelling things. What if that really happened? What if she says no? Then what would we do....

I felt a rough paw scrape my cheek, and I knew it was Bleu. Every suitor had left, except us. I ran up to Quida, and stared smiling. "Here..." I whispered. "I... I thought these flowers smelled wonderful." I handed her my bundle of vanilla flowers. She had to be impressed, now! Bleu nudged Quida's knee with her nose. "Oh. And that's Bleu's gift to you," I said, still smiling. Bleu reached up on two legs, and parted her jaws so Quida could take the vanilla flower.

Ahzenai can form bonds with any humanoid character. So any character works. They can befriend other animals too, but the bond will be of a different kind of friendship.

The vortex grew once more and swirled gently in shades of dull gold, pink, purple, and brown. After what seemed like an eternity, an Ahzenai stepped out. She shook out her mane and opened her eyes for the first time.

“Quida.” Valcyon called quietly.

Quida looked at Valcyon on his rock, blinked once, then wordlessly turned away. She brushed past several people as she made her way to the cave entrance, and those she passed noted that the Ahzenai carried a slight scent of cinnamon and apples with a hint of cloves. At the entrance, the Ahzenai closed her eyes and sniffed the air. It smelled fresh and clean, unlike the slightly stagnant air in the cave, and the slight breeze carried a myriad of different scents. She longed to venture outside and find the sources of these aromas.

Some movement in the corner of Quida’s eye caught her attention. Some of the humans were coming closer. She sighed. Quida had never seen the absolute necessity for a human companion. However, seeing as she had nothing to lose, she decided to at least hear what they had to say. And perhaps...

“All of you.” Quida spoke addressing everyone in the cave. She paused for a moment to reflect on what she would say. “If you would like me as a companion...bring me something from this world that smells beautiful.” She sat before the cave entrance with her back to the light, waiting for people to approach.

Zecylor sighed quietly, trailing his paws through the still pool of water, watching the vortex open once again. The swirls of dull gold and purple reminded him of the rising sun, a sight he had always admired. He briskly examined his own lightning- shocked coat, which seemed to fool the eye into thinking it actually was moving. Day and night, Zecylor mused, waiting for the Ahz to speak.
He watched her closely; taking in her actions and words, quietly calculating. She was quiet, thoughtful, and wise for her youth. Zecylor dipped his head, he respected those qualities.
He watched Quida move fluidly through the crowds, seemingly sorting through her thoughts before she spoke.
"All of you," Quida finally spoke, Zecylor jerking his head up in surprise. Her voice rang as clear and soft as windchimes.
“If you would like me as a companion...bring me something from this world that smells beautiful.” Zecylor flicked his tail thoughtfully. Ahzen certainly was beautiful, so he was sure he would have no problem finding something for her!
He smiled, slightly surprised with his actions. Zecylor hadn't realized he was so lonely, with his companion in the hospital from her broken ankle. He stood up, scenting the air as Quida had done. The soft breezes carried the sweet, calming scents of cinnamon, apples, and cloves. He felt warmer just from her scent! She's special... Zecylor noted to himself, walking towards her scent. He self consciously sniffed his own fur, which carried the scent of lightning, and the sweet breeze of rain.
He smiled again, excited to be near this lovely creature, then remembered he would be better off with a gift! A smell from our world... Zecylor thought, rolling it around his mind. Our world... Suddenly he had it. The smell, the colors, it added up perfectly. "Autumn!" Zecylor smiled, trotting with a pep in his step. He broke into a run, returning to the campsize he had been wooed at long ago. Some if his companion's supplies were still there! He scuffled around, snuffling and clawing under the rocks and bushes, finally finding what he was looking for; a packet if roasted pumpkin seeds, and crisp autumn leaves. Zecylor sniffed them experimentally, finding they still held their scent. He snatched both items in his jaws and ran to the beautiful Quida.

Zecylor approached her calmly, quiet and undisturbing if her peace. "Hello, Quida," he smiled, greeting her softly. He climbed the rocks and hesitantly sat beside her. "Welcome to Ahzen. Isn't it beautiful?" He gazed at the marvelous view. "It reminds me so much of my other home," he nodded, placing the items at her golden paws. Her scent was intoxicatingly wonderful. "Back home we have so much beauty, I see you have an eye for that," he said softly. "But you are also thoughtful and wise, which are qualities I admire." Zecylor smiled kindly at her. "I have brought you the items you requested," he noted, picking up the leaves. "I thought you would enjoy these, see, in our world, these items come from a time called Autumn, when the trees are ablaze with color, and scents, and life." Zecylor crinkled the leaves, the musty, rustic smell floating around them. "The trees change from green to orange and red, and sometimes even yellow. And apples grow, hanging down from the trees. Sometimes my companion takes me to pick them, and after we drink something called apple cider, have you heard if it?" Zecylor asks, knowing she wouldn't answer quite yet. "It's wonderful, it tastes of warm spices, sugars, and of course apples," he smiled. "I think you would really enjoy it."
Zecylor set the leaves down near her feet again, spilling a few of the seeds into his paw. "And these are called pumpkin seeds, Quida," Zecylor says, looking into her beautiful, watchful eyes when he said her name. "My companion plants them in the ground, and large, hard, round, orange vegetables called pumpkins come up, which you can cut faces into for something called Halloween, or bake into a treat called pie. It's also quite delicious!" Zecylor chuckled. He stood up and ruffled his fur, the scent of lightning and rain filling the air once again. "It was nice talking with you, Quida." Zecylor said, mind whirling. "If you ever want to see or smell any of those things, you are welcome to find me."
Zecylor flicked his shocking tail in goodbye, and padded away, secretly hoping the lovely Ahzenai would venture with him.

Re: {Ahzenai} New Vortex Ahzenai: Anoronast

I didnt bother looking for an entrance to ahzen, one would reveal itself to us eventually, when the ground gave way beneath me I wasnt at all shocked or scared. This was a way into ahzen I was pretty sure of that fact. My body slammed into a wall "oomph" I gasped as the wind was knocked right out of my lungs; it didnt help that Duriel salmmed right into me.

I rubbed my back trying to ignore the other places which would surely be going black and blue from the collision, "Duriel?" I asked quietly. I smiled when a furry tail wrapped gently round my wrist. That was his way of saying "im here" only without words

We walked along me with my fingertips tracing along the wall so neither of us collided with it again, I soon began to hear the faint roar of the waterfall and knew we were getting close, to being out of this infernal tunnel. Very slowly we began to see light filter through the darkness until a small circle appeared that grew bigger as we approched it, we stumbled into the light covered in dust, dirt and other things.

I paled at the sight of an earth worm wriggling about on my sleeve and hastly shook my arm flinging the work off of my sleeve, I shuddered in horror. Duriel laughed round the single blood red rose in his mouth, I glowered at him in responce and bounded toward the river, finding a nice spot I settled down and curled my legs underneath my body

I yawned and watched Duriel stare intently into the river, his onyx coat glimmering with the waters rippling reflection. The music I had dowloaded recently thrumming in my human ears the white earbuds fit snugly in my human ears, they were much more comfy than the circular headphones I had used for such a long time.

My eyes flicked toward the vortex and I watched as it swirled gently in shades of dull gold, pink, purple, and brown. After what seemed like an eternity, an Ahzenai stepped out. She shook out her mane and opened her eyes for the first time.

My eyes flick over to my dark furred companion who was watching the newest ahzenai with a look of wonder in his light coloured eyes. I smiled and after slipping my ipod into the safe pocket in my jeans switched forms with ease, Duriel looked up and then came to stand by my side.

“Quida.” Valcyon called quietly. "Such a pretty name" I sighed and watched her sniff the air wafting in through one of the entrances to ahzen, "finally someone who enjoye the wonderus smells of the world" I muttered. Taking out an orange from my bag, I began to toss it up and down enjoying the feel of it in my hand, I looked down at Duriel and he jerked his head toward Quida.

I nodded in reply to his unspoken question and we slowly made our way over to Quida, shoving a few of the more starstruck humans out of the way in the process, I couldnt blow my fringe out of my eyes with my wolfish muzzle. So I gently moved it out of the way with a long sharp onyx hued claw.

Duriel quickened his pace until he was stood right in front of Quida, his body dipped into a smooth bow as though he was about to address royalty rather than an another ahzenai. He stepped forward and gently laid the rose at her paws then backed off to sit an appropriate distance away.

I smiled my teeth glinting in the dim light, "hello Quida I am Fenris and my red ruffed companion is Duriel." "We have come to offer you the things we like the smell of" I said with a smile and peeled the orange inhaling its citrusy scent. Pulling a rumpled tissue out of my pocket I placed the now peeled orange on it and left it at Quidas' paws.

"That is whats called an orange, its a type of fruit that we call citrus fruits, other fruits like this one as far as I know are Lemons and limes." "My favourite smell in the whole world is freshly baked brownies, they smell so nice and knowing that you have made them yourself means can eat them when they've cooled down enough."

"If you come with me and Duriel then you can have all the fruit and brownies you want as well as flowers, im pretty sure Duriel would get anything you wanted" I said as I bent down to whisper in her ear. "He's taken a bit of a shine to you" I whispered with a giggle. Duriel bowed to Quida once more and we went back to our place by the river to await her descion.

Duriel lay next to me with his head on his paws and sighed deeply, I giggled slightly and gently began to stroke his dark fur"

Re: {Ahzenai} New Ahz; Quida

Postby That Weird Dragon » Tue Sep 13, 2011 8:57 pm

I was unsure of where I was, Caedo was padding quietly beside me. I sighed and looked around when I felt myself pulled into a swirling vortex along with Caedo. A bright vortex of light swirls and dances before me, towering high above the cave floor. I pause in my wonderment to consider how I managed to find myself in this strange cave.

"Welcome to Ahzen, I'm Valcyon. I don't know how you came to find yourself here but you don't seem to be much of a threat." A gruff voice chuckles from behind me.

I turn around to find a maroon horned cat thing staring me down at eye-level. In surprise I shy away from it but control my urge to yell as I see it doesn't seem to want to eat me for dinner.

"Ahzen?" I ask.

"Home of others like me, we call ourselves the Ahzenai. This cave is our home, and we are born through energy vortexes like the one behind you. Perhaps if you stick around long enough someone will find you interesting enough that they will allow you to escort them out of the cave. Oh and you can find more information down below."

The great cat thing chuckles once more to himself then pads off leaving me alone with the vortex once more.

The vortex grew once more and swirled gently in shades of dull gold, pink, purple, and brown. After what seemed like an eternity, an Ahzenai stepped out. She shook out her mane and opened her eyes for the first time.

“Quida.” Valcyon called quietly.

I smiled at the beautiful creature in front of me, "She is gorgeous" I murmured to Caedo. Caedo nodded at me, another companion for the dark canine beside me. I open my pack, a small bunch of sweet smelling flowers are in my hand now. Jasmin, rose, lavender, mint, jonquils and daffodills, they mixed with the most beautiful smells, very calming and soothing, they were my favourites, Caedo smiled at me.

Designed and Written by nocNoctua.

20% chance of staying in Ahzen.

Judging will occur on: September 14th.

I smoothly and slowly walked up to the lone Ahzenhai. She smelled beautiful, and I had just finished preparing some smells for her.
I slowly set down my four dishes on the ground in front of her
“Good morning, Quida…” I said respectfully, “I am Alycia, and I will show you my favorite smells.”
“First, a rose, for you…“ I said holding the red rose out. It had water droplets on the petals… I had just cut it from my bush this morning. As soon as she smelled it I set it down. “You can keep it… I have a whole bush full at home.” I said gently nudging the rose to her paws.
“I have four dishes and various other things that I like to smell, and think are wonderful. I hope you like them, and I’ll try my best to not do anything against your wishes.” I said.
Quietly I knelt down, and picked up my first dish. “This one is a thanksgiving dinner. A turkey leg, some mashed potatoes, covered in gravy, some corn, and a 1/6 piece of pecan pie.” I took off the cover and let her smell that. This smell reminded me of the warmth of my grandma’s house.
I put the lid back on that dish and grabbed the next. “This next one is stacked pancakes and waffles with syrup, sausage, and bacon.” Again I took off the lid and held it forward. This was one of my favorite meals, mostly because of the combined smell. I put the lid back on that one, and then grabbed the next.
“The third dish is fresh biscuits, toasted with butter” I said. These biscuits reminded me of KFC biscuits, and I loved the smell. She smelled these and I put the lid back on and grabbed the final dish.
“The last dish I have is Warm cookies on freshly baked brownies.” I said holing out the pan for her to smell.
“Now, for the individual scents, I have Circus peanuts, the orange, fluffy, candy, Unwrapped tootsie rolls, cooked salmon, and freshly cut grass, which kind of smells like the smell you get after you cut the grass, and also like after it rains outside.” I said holding each Ziploc bag in front of her, so she could smell.
“I also have burnt sugar, for you. Listen to this before you judge it. Burnt sugar is a black, kind of caramel, but you don’t eat it. Just burning sugar, instead of boiling sugar with water to get the brown kind, makes the smell stronger, and richer, and in my opinion, better. The best part about this is, you don’t get the burnt smell at all out of this.” I said holding the burnt, slimy black sugar with the beautiful smell, out to her. I then put it back down. [size=85](Story behind the story: )[ I got this idea after my science teacher used a Bunsen burner to burn sugar, showing us a chemical reaction in class]
I dug into my pockets for my last four items. “Do you know those gross smelling markers that little boys beg their ‘mommies’ to get them? Well, one of them smells like popcorn, and I really like that smell, so I brought it along.” I said uncapping the marker and holding it out for Quida.
“Next I have frankincense. Don’t get to close with this one, because if you get too much of the cinnamon (like spicy cinnamon from fireballs) , it smells nasty.” I said holding that out for her to smell. Then I put the frankincense and marker back in my pockets and held the last two items.
“The last thing I have, the male gender likes to wear, and us females like the smell of. Although if a guy puts too much of this on, Some girls cry from the intense scent. The last items are Axe and Old Spice Cologne.” I let her sniff the Axe first and then the Old spice.
“Thank you for your time Quida, and whatever decision you make, remember to make it with your heart.” I said, then quietly left and waited for her decision.
