Suddenly, the vortex began swirling again, red and black flashing angrily in and out of the churning mass. A heavily tattooed Ahzenai burst from the vortex, a dangerous gleam in his yellow eyes.

"Kavga!" Valcyon announced.

Kavga sat back on his haunches, a frown darkening his features.

"So! These are the only choices I have? Pathetic," he growled, just loud enough for those closest to him to hear. Well he wasn't leaving with any of these weaklings, not without a fight.

Growling louder now, Kavga rose to his feet, puffing out his chest.

"Prove yourselves!" he said, challenging the crowd with his stare.

Special: Kavga will not leave with anyone who cannot fight for themselves. You must engage him in a fight to earn this woo. Power-playing is allowed this time, so long as you don't have Kavga go out of character.

I was back in Ahzen again, but this time I was not alone. Zeoryler was with me this time, and now I was waiting my chance for a new companion. I was back on the same rock I had sat on the first time that I had come, and had wooed Zeo, although this time he was now sitting next to me and leaning into my hand as I stroked his pelt lightly. He always seemed to love when I ran my hand over his stripes, so when ever I was nervous I had a tendency to do so without even thinking about it.
As I sat there I heard Valcyon's voice loud over everyone else's, "Kavga!". Like the first time I had come to Ahzen, I jumped a little at his voice and shook my head dropping my hand to my side as I saw the new Ahzenai sit back on his haunches. He looked so different and unique, but I knew that he wouldn't be easy to woo just by his first sentence. "So! These are the only choices I have? Pathetic," Kavga growled. I rolled my eyes and Zeoryler looked very disinterested in this particular male. I however felt the need to stand up for myself to this Ahzenai.
Sure I was shy and I liked to be alone, as Zeoryler did -which is why he is my favorite companion- but when someone, or in this case, an Ahzenai, said something like that I had to stand up for myself. Although I knew that Kavga had meant that for everyone, it still bugged me. When the male rose to his feet and puffed out his chest I stood as well, startling Zeoryler a little. "Prove yourselves!" Kavga growled and I smirked a little.
When I stepped forward Zeoryler gripped onto the back of my shirt with his teeth and pulled me back toward him. "Are you sure you want him around?" He asked my as he let go of my shirt and I laughed quietly patting his head gently "It will be fun to see if he wanted to travel with us. Besides, if he does join us at least you could have someone to spar with" I said cheerfully. Zeoryler didn't look all the thrilled though, and he huffed once before sitting back down by our rock and watching me. I shrugged once before I walked cautiously, yet confidently toward Kavga.
The male Ahzenai looked at me and growled quickly but I paid no mind to that and stopped a few feet away. "So you think we're all pathetic eh? Well I suppose I could prove you wrong" I said as a small smirk played over my lips, this angered the male more and he growled again. "You dare challenge me?" Kavga asked, and I nodded once ready to say something but before I could speak he growled again and lunged at me, his teeth bared. I barely got out of the way and I had to tumble to the side to doge his attack. I landed awkwardly and I rubbed my head before I stood again and gritted my teeth. "Oh so that's how its going to be huh? Well lets make this interesting then shall we?" I asked quickly as he lunged at me again.
Kavga's tooth nicked my shoulder as I jumped out of his way and I winced a little in pain, but otherwise I showed no signs of pain. But when the male Ahzenai turned around he did growl again and pause for a moment before he spoke, "You are weak, I don't even know why you bother" he growled. My eyes narrowed as I proceeded to glare at him for that comment. Sure I was quite and anti-social, but I was by no means 'weak'. "Oh really?" I growled back before I lunged at the Ahzenai myself. Kavga was seriously taken aback by my lounge but that didn't stop him from dodging me and then jumping at me quickly with his teeth bared.
I had no time to recover from my previous lunge so he caught my shoulder and bit down quickly, but I knocked him away before he seriously hurt me. I touched my shoulder and winced slightly, but didn't take time to see the damage before I jumped at Kavga and knocked him over. I used my half demon strength to pin him down, and by then I was breathing rather hard. "What were you saying before?" I asked, trying to catch my breath. Kavga didn't look like he was in any mood to give up and he tried to shove me off of him but I held him in place, moving my arm to keep his head down so he couldnt bite me. He let out an aggravated growl and I grinned "Don't worry, I wont make you say that I'm not weak or that I won. But if you decide to travel with me..maybe we could make these little battles a regular thing and you can beat me." I grinned and jumped off of him so he could stand and before I walked away, I let my hand run over his pelt quickly, just feeling his fur like I did with Zeoryler.
As I headed back to my seat I looked over my shoulder at Kavga and shot him a small smile, which then turned into a playful smirk "Who ever said a girl couldn't beat a male" I joked before I sat down on my rock next to Zeoryler who looked rather amused at what had just happened.


Oh is it possible for Ahzenai to be blind? Just wondering purely out of curiosity :]

Zecylor is a strong, powerful Ahzenai. He is very manly and hates to be helped, but enjoys helping others. He is a quick thinker, and would rather reason than fight, but will give every last ounce if his strength to something he believes in. He prefers not to travel, and to simply enjoy his companion's presense, and that of a warm campfire.

Since leaving Ahzen, Snails and AhnenRah had stocked up on supplies and headed to Egypt at AhnenRah's request. Awed by the goddess Bast, Snails decided to change her name. After touring tombs, browsing foriegn marketplaces, and soaking in the culture, it was time for them to resume their previous mission... To find a new member for their group.

Bast and AhnenRah walked into the cave and waited for their eyes to adjust. From somewhere within the cave, they could hear shouting and loud cheering. Bast shrugged and followed the noise into the heart of Ahzen. In the center of the main cavern, a tattoed Ahzenai sparred with a human, and before their eyes quickly dispatched him. Another took his place, and was just as quickly sent back to the ring of spectators. Bast and AhnenRah admired his quick movements, his utter confidence and his dedication to what he was doing. His attention never wavered, and the crowd, dispite it's noise, never distracted him.
"He's so bold" murmured Bast
"He has very clean movements" replied Rah.
"I think I like him"
"I think he would make a good travel companion. If he could respect us"
"You should fight him next" suggested Bast. Rah flexed his muscles and stretched,
"Maybe. He certainly outclasses me in sparring, but I would enjoy it." Rah responded.
"Maybe if he joins us he could instruct you?" Bast said. Just then, Kavga defeated his current opponent, and Rah stepped up to spar.

Rah entered the circle of spectators and bowed to Kavga.
"I am Rah, and would be delighted to fight you" Kavga snorted,
"We will see how delighted you are soon enough" and began to circle with Rah.

Rah feinted in, but Kavga hardly reacted- it was an obvious ploy. While Rah slowed, Kavga sprang forward from his walk to tackle Rah, but he twisted to avoid most of the blow. Rah pounded Kavga's flank with a heavy paw as Kavga went past, and settled into a crouch to regain his balance. Kavga turned quickly and hit Rah several times on his shoulders as Rah tried to block, but Rah kept his balance because of his wide stance.

Kavga's tail flipped up into Rah's eyes, and suprised, Rah swung out at the invisible Kavga in anger, only to meet air and moments later get tackled from behind. On the ground and pinned, Rah allowed himself a grin,
"Nice match Kavga, I hope if you join my partner, Bast, and I, we can sparr together like this often. You are a wonderful opponent." Rah stood, presented Kavga with a sharp dagger, and dipped his head to Kavga once more before returning to the circle to watch the remaining fights until Kavga's decision.
