I am looking to adopt...Picture:
Kennel number: P39
Name: Bastet
Breed: Sphinx
Why do you want this animal and what will you do for it?: This animal really caught my eye. I'm not one to lurk through the adoption forums, and I don't have many characters, but I knew I wanted Bastet when I saw her. I'll give her a home in my character thread, as well as a
lover. Chances are, I'll roleplay with her as well.
Personality: Bastet is a delicate soul, and is very much aware of her surroundings. She always says the right thing at the right time, and makes sure to tread lightly in sticky situations. Regardless of this softness, Bastet has the heart of a lion, and when faced in an unpredictable situation, she will set her jaw and do what is right. Though her sensibility is an honorable trait, Bastet feels fiercely deprived of affection. She tries so hard to do right by others, and fails to see that others are doing right by her. Therefore, her relationships and friendships don't last very long, as she can get quite clingy. Overall, Bastet is a high-strung, although compassionate individual, who is just looking for the attention she craves.
Likes: sun, music, swimming, soft music, a light breeze, the sunrise/sunset
Dislikes: snow, loud noises, crude humor, the cold, staying up late, change
History/Background: "Oh," Bastet sighed, opening her eyes to the hot, sticky air of the Egyptian dock. Her thin fur resisted the sun's harsh rays, and she was up on her feet in an instant. Stomach growling, Bastet headed further towards the market, knowing she could woo a child into throwing her a morsel to eat. As she padded through the busy streets, the Nile's fish smell went by with the breeze, and Bastet closed her eyes, enjoying the moment. Sensibly realizing that she was wasting precious time, Bastet continued on, nodding a polite greeting to the other cats she passed. She finally reached the market, and with a purr and a meow, had enough food to last her well into the afternoon.
Bastet went on with her daily walk, determined not to mess up her routine. Her next destination was a fishing boat, and she climbed up the ramp with ease, immediately adjusting to the rocking motion as she meandered towards the cabin door. "Meowwww!" she called, waiting for her favorite local to come out. Instead, a messy, shaggy cat popped his head out, smiled, and said, "Hello, I'm Apien!" And in that instant, Bastet knew she would never be returning to her old life.
