Alycia was now back to school. All of her friends had dumped her off a cliff and no longer cared about her, while the bullies beat on her reapeatedly because she was physically weak and could never stand up for herself. She was going to try to adopt a new friend. All of her pets had run away, but she was hoping she could get a true friend. She looked from kennel to kennel. All the dogs had screeched and went to the back of their kennel.
Alycia sighed. She went into the bathroom to look at her face. Did the dogs not find her appealing? She looked into the mirror. her face was a little swollen, and her eye was black, but that's all that stood out, other than her holding a kleenex to her nose, because it was bloody.
Silently, she cried a little. She remembered the motto for school this year, "I've fallen down 100 times, but i've gotten up 101 times." She needed to do something about this situation she's in, in school.
Alycia Walked out of the pet shop, and tried to go home, without running into the bullies that waited for her on the usual route, but she ended up at an old gloomy house. A handsome horned giant male dog walked up to her. He had a black coat, with a red tip on his tail, red spots around his eyes, red tips of his ears, blood dripping from his mouth, and a blue jeweled necklace around his neck.
He looked her up and down before sitting back, "You are here to find a companion, yes?
I can see it in your eyes."
He snorted and gestured to the small group of hounds behind him.
"We call ourselves Mage Hounds, this place is our home, but perhaps
if you stick around long enough one of them will choose to follow you away from here."
"Is there any way to find a companion more quickly than to just stand around,"
she asked in a small voice.
"You could always strike up a conversation, tell them about yourself and bring gifts,
that's always best." The hound chuckled and began to walk away, "I'm Locien, by the way."
Alycia followed Locien to a group of Mage hounds.
"What's her name?" she asked, pointing to the beautiful gray dog with black paws and tiger stripes on her legs. she had a charcoal nose, and blue eyes that stood out, too, but she was alone.
"Adele" Locien replied.
Alycia walked up to her. she couldn't tell if Adele could tell she was afraid or not; she had never seen a dog her size, and what if Adele wasn't wanting a companion?
"Adele... that's a beautiful name... mine's Alycia. I love your eyes. they are so beautiful, and they really stand out with the color of your horns." Alycia said. "I-I don't have much to offer, but i kinda would like a friend right now." Alycia took her gaze from the dogs eyes to her feet. "You see, i had a couple friends last year, but since i got my hair cut short like a guy's, everybody's been ignoring me, and beating on me. Even my parents left me at home, out in the town, while they stay in Tennessee. At first they said they were going to the Grande O'l Opry, but now, they wont come back. i did have other pets, but they either were stoled from my house, like most of the money i earn to get food, or they ran away, plus, all my fish died. I was wondering if you could help me... or at least be my friend." she continued looking back up to her eyes.
